Here I go again with my gunbarrel fixation! On one of the pics that Royale Dalton posted in another thread, we have a shot of what seems to be the gunbarrel being filmed! BUT It's not Craig.

I am pretty sure Craig will do HIS gunbarrel walk himself. Maybe that guy is just doing some rehearsals for the crew.
Exactly.
Do we actually know where that photo is from? If it is from the QoS set, it seems that guy is Craig's stand-in and we will be getting the tux. Cool by me, although I do like the suit idea. I agree and hope Craig's stance was more original than that.. I use the past tense because the scene has probably already been shot. Maybe he's done several takes and the final version will be unlike Brozzer's.
Still my heart is pumping with anticipation for the iconic moment..... I can't wait.
I know what you mean, I can't wait to see it! Quantum of Solace gets off to a bang with the traditional gunbarrel. I wonder what that photo was though.....???

For all we know, the stand-in was so excited to be the stand-in for the gunarrel sequence that he dressed up specially.I was wondering why Mark Hamill was playing Bond???Is it just me or does this Craig stand-in look like Greg Kinnear? On one of the pics that Royale Dalton posted in another thread, we have a shot of what seems to be the gunbarrel being filmed! I wonder if Craig will wear the same shoes?
Damn, not the tuxedo again...

After having seen it, I must say, I preferred the Moore gunbarrels to the Connerys because they were better lit and framed. Also Connery´s jumping seems a bit too much (yes, I know, Connery didn´t film the first gunbarrels...)
I think Lazenby´s and Dalton´s gunbarrels were fine but not better than Moore´s. Finally Brosnan´s DAD-gunbarrel with the bullet flying at us was IMO spectacular.
But Craig´s gunbarrel from CR simply was the best. I´d love this one to become the iconic image of the Craig era. It could start every film of his.

Traditional as in design? Or how it plays out?

However, to distinguish that this is reboot film, have the dots come in from the right, and Bond walk in from the left.
Mind you its a bit awkward for a right-hander to swing around from the left and make it look good.

Kleinman's Brosnan version would be fine with a powerful Diamonds Are Forever Bond theme.

Ahh, I wouldn't like that, I've tried this on Movie Maker, it looks atrocious.

I expect something like this:
that's almost the exact same one as Brosnan.

Which begs the question: how is it a concept?
it isn't purely a concept... it's concept is the reconfiguration of traditional iconographies and their reintroduction -or perhaps even reconsideration- in a post archetypal cinematic conceptualization.

If we get the traditional gunbarrel, it will mean a traditional Moore _ Brosnan Bond movie, everything CR was not --
It's 20 seconds at the beginning of the movie, and it's not being used as semiology, don't be daft.

I just hope that they've gone back to the traditional rifle/pistol barrel and not repeated the howitzer barrel they used in CR (big mistake).
I agree actually. It just dosen't look good and I don't care how realistic it appears.

I didn't have a problem with the Casino Royale Gunbarrel myself, it was a refreshing change from the Binder - Kleimnan ones.
I think the new blood was a nice touch.

Having a traditional GB at the beginning of QOS just rings to me as "same old, same old, and as for those who liked CR, you can sod off, we prefer the mainstream audience who started the craignotbond site out there there are more numbers than you ardent supporters".
But then, they probably made a bold new gunbarrel which will end up stating the same thing as in CR, we will see

It sounds as if you are saying we haven't had a good Bond movie until Casino Royale.
On Her Majesty’s Secret Service was different, as was Licence to Kill and From Russia With Love. The fact that the gunbarrel opens a Bond film doesn't necessarily mean that every Bond movie that opened in the same way is garbage.
