I always found the gunbarrel cheesy...

Er... Bond trademarks are cheesy, hm? so is the 007 Gun Logo cheesy too? and the Dancing Girls? and the Bond theme? and M? and Moneypenny? and Q? and the Walter PPK?

he's American he don't understand bond fully I did like the way they did it in CR maybe they could try that in every bond film from now on in a different setting of course

I think nearly all of us want a Gunbarrel, because It sets the tone for the film. Without the gunbarrel we would have just another action movie. It's iconic, we cant not have one.

So you're saying take away the gunbarrel and it's NOT a Bond movie?

Maybe I should rephrase that, what I meant to say is that the Gunbarrel is Iconic and if we dont have it, it will feel like the movie is missing something. There's nothing better that going to a cinema and seeing a James Bond film opening with the Gunbarrel, it sets the tone for the film, we instantly know that it's a James Bond film with this introduction. Casino Royale itself took away many iconic figures: Q, Moneypenny, Dancing Girls, Gadgets. I'm not saying I disagree with this i'm just saying that if they take away any more, it might just feel like it's missing something.

I myself am torn apart by this. Part of me want's to see Craig's 'gunbarrel walk' and then there's a part of me that would be okay with a Bond movie that wouldn't have the gunbarrel sequence.

I am pretty sure Craig will do HIS gunbarrel walk himself. Maybe that guy is just doing some rehearsals for the crew.

I'm sure Craig will have his own stance for the gunbarrel. The chap in the photo is merely a stand-in who is used to check camera angles, lighting, etc. However, it does confirm that Bond will be wearing a dinner jacket for the gunbarrel rather than a regular suit.

The same suit and open collar shirt as in Casino Royale really but a dinner jacket is fine by me still, just a bit cliché.

Of course it won't be, Daniel Craig will be acting when he films the shot and we know how he likes to pose. This guy is just being told to stand there for checks, they aren't going to be concerned with his exact pose.

Here I go again with my gunbarrel fixation!
Do we actually know where that photo is from? If it is from the QoS set, it seems that guy is Craig's stand-in and we will be getting the tux. Cool by me, although I do like the suit idea. I agree and hope Craig's stance was more original than that.. I use the past tense because the scene has probably already been shot. Maybe he's done several takes and the final version will be unlike Brozzer's.
Still my heart is pumping with anticipation for the iconic moment..... I can't wait.

Yes, there will be a gunbarrel in Quantum Of Solace. I would bet my widescreen version of Casino Royale on it. If I'm wrong I will give up my wide screen CR and purchase a crappy full screen version.

I just hope that they've gone back to the traditional rifle/pistol barrel and not repeated the howitzer barrel they used in CR (big mistake).
