Quite odd isn't it. The Man with the Golden Gun and Licence to Kill, two of the most underrated Bond film. Lets JUST hope that On Her Majesty’s Secret Service is the next title :(

Is there any further news on the 3rd title for May? Goldeneye would make sense. Then you would have a film from 3 different decades. Lots of variety. I believe Diamonds Are Forever was announced in some other markets for March and then it was pulled, when they only announced 3 titles for March?

I'll be happy with whatever film they announce. I'm glad the films are coming to blu ray and having them spaced out with the releases helps my wallet quite a bit.

Assuming they do indeed announce a third title, I'd expect a Brosnan Bond film as well.

How to buy the Blu-rays? I got a blu-ray player for christmas, and I already have all the UE and original release of CR on DVD. I plan on buying QOS on single disk blu-ray when it comes out. I haven't bought the three-disk CR yet. I'm not sure what to do about the ones I have on DVD. Should I wait until they release them all together on Blu-ray? If they only include up to DOD, that's fine, and I can buy the three-disk CR (and three-disk QOS) later. But what if they release them all with CR and QOS (and probably Bond 23 by then)? What do you think is the best strategy to get the Blu-rays?

As good as the UE's are, the Blu Ray is better. I'm buying every Bond Blu Ray as it hits the shelf.

The UEs look and sound so danged good, I'm probably not going to upgrade the complete collection to Blu-Ray. Perhaps I'll just buy my top-5 or so on the new format.

You see... I KNEW there was a practical reason for all those silly 'ranking' exercises!!! :(

The Blu rays are awesome. Sell the UE DVD's if you can and upgrade. My 2 cents.

: )

With the Aussie news, maybe Goldeneye is the 3rd title for the US in May. Then Diamonds, Spy and 1 other one for July or so?

Of course I'm going to upgrade the whole catalog. I mean, really... who do I think I'm kidding?

If the entire family pools their resources, I should be able to walk away with the full set in one Christmas. And not much else.

Goldeneye is a really good one. I've always liked it very much. I just hope they fix the format. Wasn't the picture for UE edition of Goldeneye slightly zoomed in?

I would venture a guess it's coming soon. The high def TV channel MGM-HD is set to broadcast a high definition version of GoldenEye later this month which I've noticed is always a good sign of an imminent Blu-ray release.

No second box set on the horizon (as far as I can tell, anyway), and fewer titles announced than in the United States. Also, no British releases of CASINO ROYALE (1967) and NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN.

Well just dump the DVDs on ebay, that should give you a good start towards getting all the Blu-Rays! Of course this presents a dilemma because it means there will be a period of at least a few months where one does not have access to films not yet available on Blu, like say, A VIEW TO A KILL. I'm sure we've all woken up in the middle of the night with that uncontrollable urge to watch a 57 year old man dangle from a blimp. What can one do in a situation like this if you've already sold your AVTAK DVD? Difficult decisions.

I don't take kindly to such ridiculous posts. You completely forgot about the 57 year old gettin' freaky with a muscular dominatrix-in-character villainess. Just thinking of it now I know I could never part with my AVTAK DVD.

For shame sir.

It's payback for some of the other cool packages you guys over there got like the boxed sets for OHMSS, GE and TND, the UEs coming out over there months ahead of here, getting the attache case which wasn't available here and other things we never seem to get over here. :(

Just kidding. I feel for you.

Don't quote me on this, but I think it's pretty safe to say you guys are also getting the recently announced The Man with the Golden Gun and Licence to Kill come May (just waiting on those Amazon.co.uk links). I would assume box set #2 would arrive around that time as well--bringing together GF, MR, TWINE, TMWTGG, LTK and a possible sixth film.

As for the US-only releases of Casino Royale'67 and Never Say Never Again... I'm a bit puzzled. If it had to be only the UK or US getting them, I would have guessed the UK.

A review for the Goldfinger Blu-Ray has been published
http://www.dvdbeaver.../goldfinger.htm

The screenshots look good. The UE version was pretty much reference material in any case (except for the cut frames where there was print damage), so the transfer to Blu-Ray should be the least problematic of GF, MR and TWINE

Damn, those Blu-ray shots look sweet.

I'm actually glad I skipped over the Ultimate Edition DVDs, as I'll eventually shell out for these bad boys (when I'll be able to explore all those extra features on top of treating my eyeballs to some hi-def Bondage).

Goldfinger looks great. What a contrast in picture quality to the Special Edition DVD's. Man, it wasn't all that long ago that I can remember getting those SE's home when they were the state of the art. B)
