By me, yes.
Well I was aware of your great affection for Golden Gun but I had no idea you considered Licence to Kill to be your second favourite. That is if you actually do. Personally it's my favourite, but I think that really is just for nostalgic reasons these days; it had lost a little of its luster last time I saw it. But it's still a gem, even if it is tarnished.

I wish they would scrounge about to see if Maurice Binder's original titles for LTK still exist today; it'd be a lovely extra.
Yeah it would be. Didn't realise they were not his original titles, do you know why the original ones were not used?

The original titles were done almost as "snapshots", featuring the Leiter wedding and afterparty and hence explaining the girl-with-a-camera intro and outro; unfortunately, when the original title track to which they were synchronized, Licence Revoked, was junked when the title changed, so were they. Poor Maurice Binder had to reshoot nearly the entire thing.Yeah it would be. Cheers, interesting, didn't know the title track was changed either. They would be good to see.

Well, I guess LICENCE TO KILL used to be my second favourite.... until CASINO ROYALE came along. I hate to say it, but Craig really has put Dalton out of business. Like yourself, though, nostalgia compels me to continue to hold LTK in very high regard. I tried to double-bill it on DVD with GOLDENEYE once, and found that I couldn't even sit through GOLDENEYE after LTK (although I do like GOLDENEYE), for it just seemed so weak and feeble and uninteresting by comparison.

Really? I thought it was nigh legend in Bond fandom, seeing as how it was a collaboration between Michael Kamen and Eric Clapton...Cheers, interesting, didn't know the title track was changed either. Where did you hear this at? Interesting, but it just doesn't sound consistent with other things. The original titles were done almost as "snapshots", featuring the Leiter wedding and afterparty and hence explaining the girl-with-a-camera intro and outro; unfortunately, when the original title track to which they were synchronized, Licence Revoked, was junked when the title changed, so were they. The title was changed from Licence Revoked to License To Kill early on, not at the last minute. That was the title early enough they put it on the teaser trailer that Christmas season.
The title songs almost always come near the end of post production. And Binder was in the same boat, always doing the credit sequence the very last thing and often stretched it out until the very last minute. I've read that once Cubby had to literally almost edit the credits in the day before a premeire or something like that.

There was always the joke that the credits would not be ready by the Royal Premiere so it would be up to Roger Moore to walk out on stage and read the credits.

Did they fix the horrible color on LIVE AND LET DIE? If so, that might be an indication that they know their major

Does anyone know if GOLDENEYE and A VIEW TO A KILL are being re-restored with the move from Ultimate Edition DVD to BluRay? I'm referring to the chop job on both (the entire film for the former and the pretitle sequence for the latter).
Did they fix the horrible color on LIVE AND LET DIE? If so, that might be an indication that they know their major-ups and are moving to correct them.
They corrected the colour problems on both LALD and Thunderball, and the sound problems on Thunderball. However they did not correct the squeezed titles on Thunderball.
Squeezing maybe appropriate for cathode ray tube TVs where there is quite a bit of overscan, resulting in chopped titles, but completely unneccesary for HDTVs
It will be interesting to see if they have corrected the squeezed titles on MR and TWINE, both of which were worse than Thunderball.

Thanks for the information. Not entirely reassuring, but I just don't see how they could overlook the egregious errors they made with GOLDENEYE and A VIEW TO A KILL. Being a perfectionist to the point of OCD, I might have to stick with my Special Editions after all.
And if you know of errors on the Special Editions, just clam up. Leave me in blissful ignorance.

Hopefully they will continue to release a few every other month versus waiting & releasing five or six at one time.
Yes, I kind of like the idea of having a couple of new ones released every now and then. If you buy six at once, you're obviously not going to pay attention to the lesser ones (whichever ones you think they may be), but this way you're forced to try and like, say, LTK

... or you got the chance (when you alredy got it in DVD) to simply avoid to buy something like, let's say, LTK.Hopefully they will continue to release a few every other month versus waiting & releasing five or six at one time.

Great to hear that The Man With The Golden Gun and License To Kill are coming to Blu ray? Will there be a box set as well? Maybe package the 2 with Casino Royale or Quantum of Solace in May??
Great and very awesome news!!!!
Doubt we'll see them repackaged with Casino Royale or Quantum of Solace, personally. I'm a little bit surprised there's not one more film announced alongside these two, since sets of three seemed to be their prefered way of going about these releases up until now.

I agree. I like them releasing a couple of titles every other month.
I'm also excited to see that FORCE 10 FROM NAVARONE is getting a Blu-ray release on May 12. I saw the HD version on MGM-HD so was waiting for them to release the disc.
