Bad if you are an early adopter & good to middle of the road for everyone else. I'm sure this will be the first of may re-releases to come.
Will this mark the first time a film has been re-released on Blu-ray?
Good point. Not sure if that's a good or a bad thing though.

I believe that THE FIFTH ELEMENT has also been re-released as well.

The first Full metal jacket BD/HD DVD was a bare-bones release (trailer sole extra) in September 2006; the Deluxe edition with different cover art, new supplements (commentary & documentary) and a remastered transfer was released in October 2007.yes, but they were the exact same contents apart from redone picture quality. This is the first time a new extended edition with additional bonuses is released, I think.

I can identify.I'm sold. Next I have to buy a Blu Ray player and HD flat screen TV. Who wants to retire anyway?

And undoubtedly not the last.
I wonder how much of the added content (for CR and the six other Bonds being released) will be through online connectivity. I'm hoping not too much, but fearing the worst.

Excellent. That's precisely the cover I was hoping for.
I still think this re-release is a bit of a ripoff, though.

Maybe so, but at least they bothered to make it purdy.I still think this re-release is a bit of a ripoff, though.

Yep, she sure is mighty good-lookin'.
And, hey, I guess it's worth owning more than one copy of a film as terrific as CASINO ROYALE.

Interestingly, the cover is slightly different from the poster. It is framed differently and much brighter.

Beauty!

Kind of interesting that they're releasing the 1967 and 2006 versions on the exact same day.
October is definitely going to be another month filled with Bond releases.
