I haven't listened to that one yet, but I listened to the Campbell and Wilson one at the weekend. There are a couple of interesting nuggets of information on there, but not a lot that's new, really. And they seem to turn into a geriatric version of Beavis and Butthead whenever Caterina Murino appears onscreen. "Look at her wiggling her butt! Hee-hee-hee..."WOW! The crew commentary looks crowded!
The new documentaries are very good. But I think they could have gone into a lot more detail about things.

I'll be sticking to my digital R4, and for the extra features I'm not impressed with what I read, but out of curiosity I'll look into them online to cover all bases

Just got it and man did Circuit City drop the ball since they didn't even have it on display anywhere so I had to ask someone and they got it out of the back (seemed like they didn't even know it was coming out today). I can offically confirm that the R1 IS NOT the uncut version but the same as the previous DVD but the menus are a whole lot better along with the packaging which reminds me of a book (wow just saw a Bond Blu-ray commercial on TV while typing this post) kinda of like the new Hitchcock Universay Legacy DVD's and a nice 20-some page booklet with some nice pictures.
Ok, it's now official...TY Joe Bond

The packaging is way nicer than I was expecting. I'm not sure what specific type of material the box cover is made of. It's kind of sticky in a weird way. But it looks super nice.
Did anyone else have difficulty figuring out how to get the third disc out? haha. Or maybe I'm the only stupid one.
Everything about this release screams class from the packaging to the booklet. I highly approve.
I just read about the problems you had with Circuit City, Joe Bond. I had the exact same problem!
First I went to Wal-Mart at 7 am before the classes I teach. I wanted to get it early. Wal-Mart didn't know anything about it. Wasted trip, which was just as well cos I really couldn't stand the thought of giving Wal-Mart my money, but desperate times...
So, I went during lunch time to Circuit City and wandered around. No sign of it. They had the Ultimate 2-disc display up but no Casino Royale. I finally asked someone and he said they got them in but had to check with a supervisor to see if it was all right to put them out on the floor. Huh? They're in the ad for today. Hello!
So, I guess the manager approved it, cos he came out a minute later and handed a copy to me. They didn't even have any of the Bond Blu-Rays out at all either. Weird.
Oh well, the $14.99 price sure made up for the inconvenience--and I didn't have to buy it at Wal-Mart. yeah!

I might also go out and get the regular one just for the packaging. I have a feeling that will look sweet on the shelf beside my UE boxes. That's the draw back of Blu-Rays...those weird small boxes. And if Circuit City has it for $14.99, that's doable.

And really, $14.99 is an awesome price.
Does anyone know if they were selling it at Target and for how much?

I think on the Blu-Ray though, you actually get to see the two of them in a little box in the corner of the screen...right?

Yeah, I believe that's the primary difference between them.

I went to Circut City and bought the regular version and when I came home the Blue-ray was waiting on my steps.I haven't see the Blu-ray packaging, since they didn't have it out on the shelf at Circuit City, but I can tell you that the packaging is very nice. I put it on the shelf next to my UEs, expecting it to look somewhat out of place, but it looks really nice.
And really, $14.99 is an awesome price.
Both editions are beauties. The regular version is off the chain! (That's how we kids talk.) Best Bond DVD packaging ever (which isn't hard). Love the textured feel to the sleeves. Velvety. Classy and casino-like. Pleased to see the Blue-ray sleeve also has the same texture to it.
As I expected, the regular version looks great next to the UEs on the shelf. Regular for show, Blu-Ray for watching.

Allegedly on the Dr.No Blu-Ray, you can now clearly see Bob Simmons' face in the gunbarrel
I wouldn't be suprised but the Thunderball Blu-ray has a slight change in color from the Ultimate Edition (more of change than the other Blu-rays) to a less washed out color scheme and DVDbeaver's main reviewer told me in an email that he has got many emails from people who own the actual prints of the movie and they say the colors look more like the original prints here is a link to the review with screenshot comparisons:

I was hoping they would also put back in the trailers and TV spots to movie. But they didn't do that, and also that they would put the offical trailer to Quantum Of Solace at the begining of disc 1, but they didn't do that. The trailers of Handcok and 21 was not need at all on the dvd. Paramount was very smart when they rerelease Mission Impossible and Mission Impossible 2 on DVD back in spring of 2006. They had the trailer to Mission Impossible 3 at the begining of the disc before to the movie. Also the first two movies had their trailers put back in thir own disc. That is what they also should have done with the 3 disc version of Casino Royale.
Yeah that is lame. If they want to put other Sony trailers on there, fine, but at least put the CR teaser and trailer in there too! Ironically, there's a CR trailer on the Spider-man 3 Blu-Ray, which I got for free with the PS3!

I for got to say, that this is also not the first time they have done that. On the DVD SWAT they did not even have the teaser or offical trailer of the movie on the disc. The teaser or offical trailer was in the DVD of Bad Boys II, before the movie.

You just made my day. I was unsure if the dvd version had both commentaries, since some sites I've checked have so little of information regarding the dvd, or they only list the crew commentary. Now, I've decided to get the dvd version.
(Since purchasing the blu-ray version isn't a good bargain for me, since I still use one of them... old type of televisions.

Every place I went to today after work (5:30pm) Circuit City, Best Buy, Target were sold out. I talked to the guys at BB and they said they only got four copies in of the Blu Ray SE of CR. WTF?!? I guess I will have to buy it online.
You could try a Blockbuster store...
Or Wal-Mart, as long as you put your biohazard suit on before you enter
