Or Wal-Mart, as long as you put your biohazard suit on before you enter :(

And take several Excedrin for the migraine you'll undoubtedly experience after being in that store for more than five minutes.

That was one of the first things I thought and the case seems a little more slim too. A great Blu-Ray for a great movie.

The crew commentary is very good. Especially Phil Meheux and Debbie McWilliams.

I find amusing that in the newest version Connery is not as tanned, LOL....I really thought he was back then either going to the beach a lot or getting heavy makeup :(

After seeing this, I feel a little better about having to buy the movie again.

Did you pick up your copy yet, Professor?

Yep - got it yesterday along with the Blu-ray's. While I despise the double dip, the set is well worth it. After the free movie cash I will redeem for Quantum of Solace, the set cost me $5. :) The packaging is excellent. Has sort of a rubber feel to it which is a nice change from the typical glossy packaging that just gets loaded with fingerprints. There is also a nice booklet that is included in the set. I will note that this booklet is not included in the Blu-ray version. :( The teaser poster cover art looks great. It's going to take me a while to sort through all the extras but I'm going to savor every minute of it. :)

I noticed that the filmmaker profiles has some excellent behind the scenes footage that I have never seen.

Every place I went to today after work (5:30pm) Circuit City, Best Buy, Target were sold out. I talked to the guys at BB and they said they only got four copies in of the Blu Ray SE of CR. WTF?!? I guess I will have to buy it online.

I had a similar experience when I went out on my lunch hour. I went directly to Best Buy. They had one copy of the Blu-ray. A couple of sets of each of the Blu-ray sets of the older films and several of the steelbook versions. No copies of the regular DVD copy of the film were to be found and no copies of CR '67.

Wal Mart didn't carry any of the films. I stopped by Target today and they didn't have any copies of the Bond films, save for a few copies of the original Blu-ray of CR. I don't have a Circuit City near me.

This is somewhat disappointing, especially as far as Best Buy is concerned considering they advertised the films heavily in their ad. It reminds me of last Christmas when I went looking for the boxed set of Blade Runner and they told me they only got like 4 in. Why advertise something and not mention limited quantities? They screwed me last month on the Godfather trilogy set. It was supposed to come with a free book of quotes and nobody bothered to put them on the Blu-rays, only on the standard.

Oddly enough, it seems that standard DVD version of the package for CR Collector's edition is better than the Blu-ray one.

First of all, there's the cover, I don't know if it is just me, but I think it looks better without the sky blue mark of the BD logo, then we have the beautiful booklet that seems to be absent in the high definition format. And finally is that sort of rubber texture of the packing itself of triple disc edition (in which the third one features Le Chiffre's image) with a nice feel of a book.

Cool. In the GoldenEye commentary, he references some influences that he gleaned from other films that he liked. Pretty cool stuff, and he knows how to pull them off well in Bond films.

Like many others, I went to Best Buy and Circuit City yesterday and got the 6 older films on Blu Ray, but those stores only had the original CR, not the new SE.

I got the Collector's Edition today. I haven't made the leap into Blue Ray and probably won;t for some time. I am quite content with my Ultimate Edition sets and now this version of Casino Royale.

I have to mirror what a few have said about the packaging. It really is quite nice. I love the feel and the weight of it. I think there are some great extras. The only thing I don't understand is why there are not trailers for this film on here. I think the teaser trailer for Casino Royale is great and would love to see it on disc. I wonder why it is not included?

I watched the third disc last night. Fantastic, in-depth stuff for us Bond enthusiasts. John Cork really knows his stuff. I found all the background info fascinating - the inspiration for the Solange character, Bond's long history with the Bahamas...I actually improved my knowledge by watching the docos. And, yes, don't skip the filmmaker profiles, for like the docos, they feature deleted shots, snippets of deleted scenes etc. I especially liked the moody shot of Craig looking out of his hotel window, and also the added footage of Carlos's demise. The disc, plus the 2 commentaries I haven't listened to yet and the beautiful packaging soften the blow of another double dip!!

I got mine earlier today. :( I got the Blu-ray and the regular collector's edition. I couldn't resist. Also picked up the Blu-ray sets 1 and 2. I considered getting CR '67, but resisted for another time.

I had $50 in Best Buy Bucks that softened that hefty price tag somewhat.

Anyone looking to buy the James Bond Box sets can get it at Castco. But their box sets are not the same design as the 2006 ones, well the box design. I don't know if it is the 2-disc Ultimate Edition, or the single disc one. But each box set do come with something free, one has a black color t-shirt with the 007 logo, one a cd case, I forgot what the other two free thing is. If it is the 2-disc Ultimate Edition, I don't know which cover art design it is. The four Costco box sets, could be a deal they made with the studio, but I'm not sure. I'm not sure are big chain stores and wherehouses able to do that moste of the time. But like I said it looks to be that for the box sets at Costco. The 2006 2-disc Ultimate Edition box sets are still out there, I know border stores still have them. If anyone wondering about the price, I didn't look at that, just like I didnot check on the cover arts and the version which is on the back. I did look to see did it have all the movies on the side of the boxes and the front. So anyone here who do go to a Costco in their area this weekend can check it out and give more info on it. It is not listed on their website. The only reason I didn't look at it long enough, is because I already have all the 2006 2-disc Ultimate Edition box sets.

By the way, Castco does not have the 3-disc edition of Casino Royale, and the 1967 Casino Royale. But they do have the 2 Blu-Ray box sets.

It's the same as the 2006 UK cinema and 2007 UK DVD versions.

OK, so is the version being released in North America the UK version? My understanding is that that was edited differently than what we saw in the U.S. and Canada (longer stairwell fight scene), etc.

Also, is the sound any better on this one (the HD version)? We really had to play around with the sound on our stereo (admittedly not for audiophiles) to make it sound halfway decent.

No the version released in the U.S. is identical to the original DVD released in the U.S. so its the PG-13 cut of the film and the audio on the SD DVD is the same as the old version (however this was on a regular TV and not a sound system) however the video quality did improve slightly (sharper and this improved the colors). I don't know about the Blu-ray since I do not own that.

I Really wanna get this but my Local Woolworths havnt got any in stock yet :) Funny since they normally have everything on release date, oh well it wont be long :)
The main reason i wanna get it is because i always watch the SFs on the dvds like "inside Bond" and the trailers and other documentarys and The original CR had next to naffall so I wanna see what they got now :(
