Well I've just seen the new trailer online and it's great. I do have some qualms though.... Daniel Craig in a clown suit has been done before, Pamela Salem as the henchmen Elvis is somewhat of a narrative surprise and Micheal Wilson's cameo as MONEYPENNY complete with tache and an Ascot two-piece is clearly going to divide the fans.
What did you think about the bit with the dog?
What, the talking MI6 Dalmation or the singing KGB Daschund? Either way, they distracted from M bumping into that pillar a la Priscilla 'NAKED GUN' Presley.
I meant Katie Price's cameo.
QUANTUM OF SOLACE has a built-in audience. As long as they have the TV commercials cranked up around its time of release, it'll rake in the cash.
Agreed. There's no need to rush a trailer to the screens. I don't think that, at this point in the summer, it really matters if we get a trailer. There's so many potentially great films coming out in the next couple of months that I'm not really focused on Quantum of Solace.
That is such a sensible attitude. Getting into such a heightened state of anticipation and excitement about Quantum of Solace at this early stage must surely lead to disappointment when the thing is actually released. If one is so starved of Bond between now and November - because, let's face it, there's so little material out there - what's wrong with revisiting one of the movies one hasn't seen recently or re-reading some Fleming?
I was very much anticipating
Casino Royale, and followed the news about it daily and really followed it quite closely, and the time between the beginning of filming to the release of the film seemed like a
very long time. With
Quantum of Solace, I haven't paid much attention at all to the production of the film, and I've found the time seems to have passed much quicker from the time that filming began to this point in the production, and I would imagine that continuing to give it little attention on my part would make the rest of the time period before its release seem shorter as well.
Also, there's just so many potentially great movies between now and
Quantum of Solace that I find myself more interested in those at the moment. Right now, my focus is on the likes of
The Dark Knight, Get Smart, The X-Files 2, Wanted, as well as Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino's
Righteous Kill that arrives very shortly after the end of the summer movie season, and I'm sure that there are a few more that I've failed to list here, but once those films are released, then I'll probably turn my focus a bit more to
Quantum of Solace.
