Um... Zorin on the Golden Gate Bridge?Another excellent guess. Yours and trs007's are both perfectly valid answers and deserve some kind of honorable mention. But I had something else in mind.
Maybe I can nudge the question a little more in the right direction:
It was a high-wire act that caused this character's fall--he was just whipped.

I banter back and forth with Major B so much that I immediately presumed some big subterfuge and overlooked the obvious character who certainly had the "wrong door".

Several possibilities occur; I'll throw this one out on the stoop: Bond in Casino Royale? Doesn't he use a flash drive to download info from M's laptop?OK, then:
