This character fell for a high-wire act.

Chang, from Moonraker?

Excellent guess--one I didn't think of. But I had something else in mind.

I've got it! Jaws in Moonraker falls on and collapses a circus tent, which is showcasing (drumroll, please) a high-wire act! B)

Another excellent guess. Yours and trs007's are both perfectly valid answers and deserve some kind of honorable mention. But I had something else in mind.

Maybe I can nudge the question a little more in the right direction:

It was a high-wire act that caused this character's fall--he was just whipped.

Um... Zorin on the Golden Gate Bridge? B)

Gobinda is correct! Bond whipped the antenna wire into his face, and down he went.

Excellent, JEAO007! Your turn!

Thank you MajorB, I have to admit it was pretty hard. I'm not very good at this sort of thing, but here goes.

I gave much useful information until I walked into the wrong door.

*slaps forehead* *Gives best Homer Simpson "doh".

I banter back and forth with Major B so much that I immediately presumed some big subterfuge and overlooked the obvious character who certainly had the "wrong door".

Are you referring to Saunders, TLD??

Wow...somehow I feel personally responsible for your not getting that answer sooner, trs!

OK, then:

"And with a flash, my mission was underway."

Several possibilities occur; I'll throw this one out on the stoop: Bond in Casino Royale? Doesn't he use a flash drive to download info from M's laptop?

He might. I always thought he grabs the card reader and not a flash drive, will have to re-watch. However, in any event, a good guess but not what I had in mind. Awaiting the other possibilities.

The woman photographer ("Freelance") whose mission was to take Bond's picture in Dr. No? Or, alternatively, Mr. Jones, whose "pickup" of Bond began almost at the same moment the photog tried to take her first pic?

With luck, this will last longer than my clue in the Which Movie game did:

Leaving distractions behind--well, one--allowed me to see the light.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm, my first thoughts are going to either Bond, himself, or Tiffany Case.

Good try, but no.

Looking at the clue again, I realize it may be a little more misleading than I want to be. Here's a revision:

Leaving distractions behind--well, one--allowed me to see the light--well, lights.

Red Grant? He kills the Bond double, then Morzeny turns on the lights right after.

Hmm. This is the only hint I can think of. Hopefully it won't give too much away:

I wasn't the one being distracted: What I was leaving behind proved to be a distraction for someone else.
