Leaving distractions behind--well, one--allowed me to see the light--well, lights. I wasn't the one being distracted--what I left behind proved to be a distraction for someone else.

Oh... you mean the SPECTRE divers in Thunderball who, carrying a light, dive into the wreck after Bond and are distracted by his scuba pack just long enough for Bond to blow them up?Leaving distractions behind--well, one--allowed me to see the light--well, lights. I wasn't the one being distracted--what I left behind proved to be a distraction for someone else.

Well... crap.Wow--really nice guess! I wish it were what I was thinking of.
Any more hints? I've got a fantastic clue for the next one if I'm picked.

The "someone else" is Bond.
The distraction is human.
Someone already guessed the movie but not the character.

Another inventive guess, but no. I deliberately made this one tough because my last few have held up like dandelions in a hurricane. But this quiz, unlike diamonds, shouldn't be forever. Here are some nudges:
The "someone else" is Bond.
The distraction is human.
Someone already guessed the movie but not the character.
Is it Fekkish, from SWLM? He leaves a nice bit of distraction for Bond and is later seen at the light show.

Your turn!
(Now I'll go back and try and focus on your damned "hornet" clue in Vehicle ID....!)

YES! You've done it again, my friend. He leaves Felicca behind, and she proves a nice (albeit literally short-lived) distraction for Bond while he meets Anya at the light show.
Your turn!
(Now I'll go back and try and focus on your damned "hornet" clue in Vehicle ID....!)
Thank you, Major, but it was the clues that helped. The verbiage was very open to interpretation, so well done in making it a challenge.
On to new business, maybe easy, maybe not:
"Although I was bubbly, I got the job done."

Pola Ivanova? She seduces Bond in a hot tub (where "the bubbles tickle her... Tchaikovsky"), then steals a tape and gives it to General Gogol.
Excellent guess, and could very well have solved the puzzle, but not what I was thinking.

Nick Nack? He got bubbly all over him when he greeted Bond with the champagne, but still did his job. (I don't actually think this is it, but I wanted to guess something after all this time!)
Miss Goodthighs, from the 1967 Casino Royale? She brings up champagne (and gets it all over her when Evelyn Tremble shoots off the cork), but does her job (drugs Tremble's own bubbly).
Nick Nack is an excellent guess, but no.
Miss Goodthighs, another great guess but rare if ever do I include films out of the EON-produced series for answers.
Gentlemen, the game remains afoot.

The first Blofeld double in Diamonds? He got boiled in mud but still convinced Bond he was the real deal.
Another great guess, but no.

The Q-branch tech with the hookah/machine gun in Spy? (A hookah has bubbles, doesn't it?)
I couldn't say, Major, been a while since I hookahed.
But, no.

Pam Bouvier. She deliberately crashes Krest's boat, dives over the side and surfaces, shouting "I got the job done!" at Bond's sarcastic comments
Good guess, but no.

"Although I was bubbly, I got the job done."
Is it Dr No? When he fell into the reactor's system and the job with him was done.

Another clue, then, please?
WOW--it has been 20 days!!! Fair enough, Mr B. A clue it is. This clue is an addition to the current clue. Put them together and I bet we have us a WINNER:
Prior clue: "Although I was bubbly, I got the job done."
Additional clue: "The babe who crashed did not stay that way."

So, am I right or not?Okay, but if it is the piranhas, since the first clue was first-person singular, I think you have to say which piranha. (My money's on Frank, the fourth one from the left with the pretty blue eyes.)
