Well, seeing how the guesses are non-existent. . .

I confess, this one is a puzzler and everytime I think about it, my mind wanders back to Fiona Volpe, except I cannot reconcile the booth portion of the turn.

So, the guess is. . .Fiona.

I was wondering if I'd overdone the degree of difficulty. I went extra heavy on the wordplay. Fiona's a good guess for the cage part, but as you said, that's not all of it. Let me fill in a bit:

In my first appearance I had a nasty turn in a booth, but was soon at large again. in my brief relationship with Bond, we went at it like caged animals. We were both up for it--but then I was really down. You could say all was well for me at that point, but the problem was I'd been extinguished.

Does that help?

Vesper maybe? She drowns in a service elevator, which is like a cage, and post-hospital they go at it, a lot (or what seems to be a lot), and water can extinguish fire. Not quite sure how the booth fits in to it, but it's been a while. I've also got a massive headache, which does not help thinking.

Sorry to hear about the headache, Tybre. It's not Vesper, but you did decipher part of the clue correctly.

Yes!! Well, done, danielcraigis...!

The first time we see him, he's called into the customs booth and arrested, but soon escapes. He and Bond fight viciously in a cage-style elevator while it's going up. But then Bond uses the extinguisher to blind him and then knock him down the stairwell to his death.

Your turn!!

Here we go:

I light a fuse (in more ways than one), and if anyone got in my way, I'd hit them with everything I had.

It's not nudging me toward any character in particular. "Light a fuse (in more ways than one)" suggests both sexuality and some kind of bomb, but "if anyone got in my way, I'd hit them with everything I had" could mean almost anything. Can you narrow it down a little?

Msybe this'll help:
I light a fuse (both metaphorically and literally), and if anyone got in my way, I'd "hit them with everything we got."
By fuse, I don't mean anything sexual or bomb related. Think about what else people "light" up. B)
Hope that helps...

I shall take a stab and say: Kara Milovy. Her aim was to please Koskov whose plan was to set her up to be killed.

Aw, shucks. But I believe it's that you and I are each really learning how the other thinks, trs. Which of course makes this all the more challenging...

Okay, how 'bout:

It takes time to understand a man who keeps reaching for his stash.

I'll throw out a guess of Milos Columbo. It took Bond time to realize he was the good guy, and reaching for his stash of pistachio nuts fits that part of the clue.

Kananga? In his first main scene he's being bugged by the CIA; toward the end of the film he hangs Bond and Solitaire over the shark pool.
