Kim wasn't in that episode...I agree on Voight, apart from his character's name, he's been a fantastic villian facing Jack Bauer.

Kim wasn't supposed to be in that episode.

The only thing I can think of that's wrong is that I can't remember it.

Yep, I'm slightly concerned that they could end up retreading old territory with this, but if this is to be the final season, hopefully they can really think of something fresh and exciting with the plot.

Anyway, I'm slightly bored so I'm going to make some predictions about the rest of Season 7 and how that may link into Season 8:

Spoiler

- Kim returns next episode but initially refuses to help Jack's treatment
- Larry gets killed and Jack is appointed as temporary director of the Washington FBI by President Taylor; his first move is to go back into the field against all advice
- Tony's real motivation is revealed and he turns on the US Government
- a major bioweapon attack hits Washington DC killing thousands and forcing the government to reconvene elsewhere for Season 8, i.e. Jack doesn't save the day for once
- Aaron Pierce will discover Olivia's scheming and expose her
- Tim Woods (the Homeland Security chap) will be the mole in the White House
- Ethan Kanin returns to his previous job after Olivia's downfall
- Kim is killed, perhaps by a rogue Tony but I don't really like the idea...
- the season ends with Jack agonizing over whether to take the stem cells available to him from Kim's dead body
- Season 8 starts with Jack still recovering from surgery, and the US government presenting a united front with formerly hostile states against Starkwood

Some good ideas there, Vaux, I'm interested to see what season 8 brings. Season 7 is a very memorable one (almost in the same vein as season 5 with many standout moments). I hope the season finale capitalizes on all this build up, though I'm sure it will.

Great ideas indeed.I think you may be off on one or two, but overall: outstanding.

The show has a very good relationship with parts of the US military, who assist with a lot of the helicopter/aerial stunts. I assume they also help with the provision of military props.

Tonight's episode sounds like a ripsnortin' ride. USA Today gives it four stars and, without giving away any sp;oilers, promises resolution on several issues...and a new departure with a terrific twist.

I too am stumped for Hodges' motivation, but he definitely seems to be losing his marbles, so I hope it's something absolutely ridiculous - a piece of cheese from the moon, that sort of thing.

My official prediction: Mr Almeida turns... (deliberately left open to interpretation)

I've been reliving the episode over and over again in my head today. Haven't had the most productive of days as a result! Even though I started to see it coming, I was shocked with the way they handled the ending. Absolutely terrific. Even though the motives aren't clear yet, there is no way that the character can come back from this. Bad through and through.

In addition, terrific scene with Kim and Jack. Hopefully Hodges will not just be left to fester away in a cell. We need some more Voight action; he continues to be amazing.

I think this may well have trumped Season 5 as my favourite season now, but they need to keep the consistency for the last six episodes. Up to a few weeks ago, I was quite content that it seemed that Season 8 will be the final one. Now, I'm disappointed; the shake-up of personnel has refreshed the series and it's back to being one of the best things on television.

I agree re Kim, who redeemed herself completely in this scene.And I won't soon forget the sight of the rabid Hodges attempts to do to the prez. My word!

The actress is Amy Price-Francis and she is portraying Hodges' personal attorney (or posing as her at least...), therefore presumably she will perform some legal miracles to prompt his release.

I've heard a very unsubstantiated rumour that she is linked to Tony somehow, but I'm not entirely sure where that has come from.
