As far as the theatrical movie is concerned, there is nothing that states that will necessarily pick up where Season 8 left off. The movie will probably be completely independent of the TV series, so if Jack does indeed die at the end of Season 8, he may return from the dead without so much as a scar!

It has been stated that if there is a movie (which appears to be pretty unlikely at the moment) it won't be a prequel, because so much of the intrigue of 24 is not knowing who dies and who survives.

I personally can't see Jack dying of this particular disease in Season 8. Which suggests that, if he features in it, some sort of cure will be found. I think it's more likely than ever that Jack could die in Season 7. It's pretty tough to get him out of a situation where he is said to have an incurable disease, and possibly only a day or two to live.

Yep, and I reckon Kim's return will have something to do with it. Perhaps through some sort of shared gene. Other forums have suggested a bone marrow transplant between seasons, but I can't see that happening. Effectively, Jack has vCJD (the human form of BSE/Mad-Cow Disease), so I'm intrigued to see how the fictional doctors of 24 will seek treatment where real-life doctors have failed.

This episode was a very good set-up for how the final story arc will play out over the next eight hours. I do have to give some props to Sean Callery. His music has been top notch this season.

Given how the episode evolved, the exposure to the toxin was a good reason to keep him from going on the Starkwood raid with Larry. Hopefully, Jack will be able to get in there & mix-it up a bit while Larry & company are being held by the Starkwood goons.

Here's how Jack will get rid of the virus (This is just for entertainment, so don't consider this a spoiler, m'kay?):


-Jack's white blood cells will isolate the virus and torture them out of his system. Jack pees out the virus and injects it into Hodges.

-Jack's Chinese torture was pretty damn effective-so much so that the drugs are still in his system giving him immunity from the virus. Now the new craze sweeping the nation will be finding a way to get tossed in a Chinese prison. I'm going to Beijing and saying Mao sucks!

The usual spoiler source merely has this to say about next week's episode - Best Episode Ever. I'm intrigued to see why.

Ehhh, not the best episode ever, but a good setup for what may be a terrific next few weeks. Voight's character is terrific at staying one step ahead of Jack and the FBI though!

Agreed that I have a feeling Jack's exposure to the bio weapon may be used as the "long farewell" that will play out during Season 8. Then again, maybe that will have nothing to do with it, and that he may not even die on contrary to what Kiefer said in his interviews!

This is no longer certain, since Jon Cassar left 24 earlier in the year. Jack's fate is now in the hands of different people.

Nope, it's Tim Guinee, who was in IRON MAN. Funnily enough, just had a quick search and there are several web pages dedicated to the striking similarity between Guinee and Fillion.

It's the same virus that infected Jack, but it's now been modified to be transported by missile. However, I believe Hodges was bluffing, because they wouldn't have had time to arm the missiles yet. Therefore I think there actually was no virus in the warheads at this time.

I agree. His character grows richer and richer. It's interesting to remember that a while back JV's career was in tatters and he was regarded as nearly unemployable, a flake. Hang in long enough, like JV and Mickey Rourke, and things sometimes turn around. No consolation, I suppose, to Sean Young.

Voight really shined in this episode! He's been slowly building up for the last several weeks. Another great episode, but things should really get good next week!

Kim was mentioned in this episode, so she should show up next week if the rumor is true. I am very interested in seeing how their reunion will play out, especially under these circumstances!
