Let me mention that I did not watch the teaser for next week, as I have been watching the last month or so without finding out what will happen the following week. So if anyone wants to discuss future episodes, I'm hoping they utilize the spoiler feature.

Oh, one more thing. That senator has got to be the biggest swine in the series! That he would put proper protocol even over the lives of thousands of people is beyond ridiculous! Good for Buchanan to give him that response after the senator tore into Jack again!

Anyways, two great episodes! I really can't wait to see next Monday's episode. My only complaint is just how the second episode ended. Still, it's 24. I should have suspected this cliffhanger ending...
I also had this feeling whenever something bad happened. I was like, "Oh my God, I can't watch. Something bad's just happened." But, on the other hand, I thought, "I can't change the channel, because I want to see what happens."

The best moment of the week probably has to be Jack tasering the phone though...

And, yes, Jack tasering the phone was the best moment!

Pure dynamite. Renee is steadily emerging into a possible love interest worthy of Jack. And Jack back in torture mode is irresistable. More fights, please, and less extended gunplay would be the final charm for me.
I have to agree with you Dodge and I thought...

I'd have to go with Jack berating the Evil Senator with "You Sir, are WEAK!"

That was my second choiceI'd have to go with Jack berating the Evil Senator with "You Sir, are WEAK!"The best moment of the week probably has to be Jack tasering the phone though...

For the record, third place goes to Jon Voight suggesting a game of darts.

Brilliant stuff from Kiefer. I hope the senator either gets his comeuppance or has to rely on Jack to save his life.

Lol, yeah the darts game was weirdly random. I wonder how the Evil Senator arc will play out. Will Bauer save his life, causing the Senator to see the Error Of His Ways ? Or maybe he'll just get killed, which would solve a few problems for everyone

These were my two favorites as well. The episodes definitely lived up to my expectations & the previews for next week look great. John Voit was excellent - both creepy & sinister. I was glad to see Bill make it through. I got nervous there for a second that he was going to be sent to 24 heaven - roman haircut & all.The best moment of the week probably has to be Jack tasering the phone though...

Agreed, I thought it would be the end for Bill when he ran off with the President's tracker. I still fear for his safety next week though.I was glad to see Bill make it through. I got nervous there for a second that he was going to be sent to 24 heaven - roman haircut & all.

It was kind of unrealistic that they did NOT kill Bill or Agent Pierce, since both were obviously more than just "innocent bystanders" and were deliberately trying to defy Juma. But still, we don't want them dead do we! Oh and presumably Chloe has been yanked off to have her baby, and will be back in a few weeks, now without the conveniently placed desks and computer monitors which block the view of everything but her head and shoulders

BTW I can't remember, what exactly happened to Isaach de Bankole's Sangala president character? Wasn't he in the White House last time we saw him?

I believe he was last seen leaving the Oval Office saying that he needed to talk to his staff. Presumably he is elsewhere now. Curious how the entire Cabinet also seems to have disappeared from the White House too!BTW I can't remember, what exactly happened to Isaach de Bankole's Sangala president character? Looks like Jack's new girlfriend will invade the place herself next week without the VP's approval.

Yep, Bill's death has an inevitable ring about it. Be sad to see the good grey warrior go. I hope he takes somebody with him.

I don't think Bill will die. I think he (and Jack of course) will save POTUS, and he will become the new Secret Service agent in charge, or POTUS will start CTU back up- and Bill will be back in his usual place.
Totally guessing on this one! :-)
That would be nice.

Updated with Ausiello's notes for this week, which seems to pretty much confirm what I wrote above:

Well, they've been fooling us all season so far (i.e. the FBI mole and his presumed escaping from FBI headquarters), why not fool us again and have Bill (and Aaron Pierce for that matter) live this season? For once, Jack doesn't lose any allies during a bad day. That would be a surprise. Although, I do think Tony's days may be numbered. My only question is will he go out a hero or a villain?Agreed, I thought it would be the end for Bill when he ran off with the President's tracker. I think this is due to some clever editing. The trailer for this weeks two parter gave a few false impressions like when Jack strikes the soldier & the door later explodes. To me, those scenes implied the bad guys were involved but that wasn't the case in both instances.Good find, Vauxhall! The trailor for next week's episode was strange.
