Harms, what leads you to believe it's good?

Poor though THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH may be, it's not like the poor bloke is universally awful. And the presence of Robert Carlyle in the cast is troubling stuff for this TWINE hater.
I read some good reviews, that's all.Harms, what leads you to believe it's good?

Loomis, were you always a The World is not Enough hater? Maybe you're just less vocal about it than many here.Is it? It looks dire, if you ask me. And the presence of Robert Carlyle in the cast is troubling stuff for this TWINE hater.

Great stuff, my man, that's good to hearWell, V. for my two cent it was great to see Jack back in action. But, after so long I wanted more. But I feel I'll get want I need in Jan.

I'm looking forward to seeing my first new Bauer action for 18 months or so tomorrow night. I also have high hopes for Season 7 bearing in mind that (for once) they've mapped the whole series out in advance!

Maybe. It was kind of dull, honestly.Hmm, shame, but was it satisfying enough when considered merely as a filler piece, Harms?
They seemed like they fit the bill. Also, what did you make of the new cast additions such as Cherry Jones as the new President?

Well, having seen 24: REDEMPTION, I think the very positive reviews were perhaps overstating things. This isn't so much a stunning return to form as it is a so-so filler piece.
Well I personally liked this movie as it returns Jack to front and center. Like James Bond without the gadgets, this is the first time we get to see Jack in action without the support from CTU which has now apparently been disbanded. Although a couple of his ex-coworkers/friends will be back in Season 7, they will basically be working freelance to support Jack. Until then though, seeing Jack making decisions on the fly without having to clear these decisions through government bureaucrats and agents was quite refreshing. Also, this being Jack's first "mission" outside the U.S. added to the "James Bond" feel to the movie.
Also, as has been stated by some, Robert Carlyle's performance was quite good, and really should have nothing to do whether people liked TWINE or not.
Of course the merchandising machine is in full gear as this movie will be released on DVD this Tuesday (which includes Season 7 previews). This definately will give people who may not have been exposed to this show a chance to see in a condensed version how good "24" is without having to wade through 24 hours (actually 18 hours without commercials) of tv time to get to the ending of each season. This is definately a DVD worth picing up.
PLEASE NOT AGAIN, I'm listening to the radio and I just heard that the Screen Actor Guild strike looks imminent. This can't two season in a row can it.
Well Season 7 is all cued up and ready to go. So it wouldn't hurt this season.
Maybe they should just write a script for a two hour theatrical movie. Whatever happened to that anyway?

Those were all good things, but it still doesn't affect the overall quality of the story. As far as it goes, REDEMPTION was never all that involving, despite going back to basics.Well I personally liked this movie as it returns Jack to front and center. Like James Bond without the gadgets, this is the first time we get to see Jack in action without the support from CTU which has now apparently been disbanded. Although a couple of his ex-coworkers/friends will be back in Season 7, they will basically be working freelance to support Jack. Also, this being Jack's first "mission" outside the U.S. added to the "James Bond" feel to the movie.
I don't think it is, and I think newcomers to the show would be more likely to see REDEMPTION and say, "Well, what's the big deal with that show?" then feel compelled to watch more of it.This definately will give people who may not have been exposed to this show a chance to see in a condensed version how good "24" is without having to wade through 24 hours (actually 18 hours without commercials) of tv time to get to the ending of each season. This is definately a DVD worth picing up.

Fortunately, no. They should be done with the last episodes before any potential walkout.
RE: Redemption
I liked it, while not as action packed as some thought, it serves as a great forerunner to Day 7, and introduces us to the major players on day 7. Oh and Carly Pope-MEEYOW!

Yeah, sorry, I've always hated TWINE. It's the only Bond film I don't like (although even then it does have its moments - a couple.... and I do enjoy the PTS). I'm sure I've made my share of posts attacking TWINE over the years.

While I won't go easy on Season 7, if it sucks, I'm cutting REDEMPTION some slack. It was good to have Jack back. And the way has been paved for the hearings to come. If the writers are savvy, they'll use the redemption theme to show us Bauer back in form, after a half-decade funk.

Sounds like a good strategy - call a strike during a major economic downturn.PLEASE NOT AGAIN, I'm listening to the radio and I just heard that the Screen Actor Guild strike looks imminent. This can't two season in a row can it.

In other news, Sky1 will now be showing 24 on Tuesdays, so the UK will now have the episodes less than 24 hours than they're first broadcast in the United States!

Solid star turns from all involved, even if some of the Washington cast are so ridiculously good-looking that it's distracting (it saddens me that the awesome Powers Boothe got lumbered with the turkey that was the sixth season, so I enjoyed his brief cameo here, even if it failed to resolve the fates of Wayne Palmer and Charles Logan). The subplot about the president's son's friend stumbling onto evidence of terrorist activity was the only bum note for me.
A great set-up for the seventh season, which will hopefully be a return to form. On that note...
