But to come back to the 'topic in hand': many posters seem to be coming at the question with the idea that sexuality is something fixed, or permanent. I realise that's the fashionable 'sexuality is genetic' angle, but I'm not 100% convinced.

So you are straight because you chose to be?I thought I'd give this thread a bump as it is not only interesting and often amusing, but would not be allowed to exist on MI6 where over-zealous and misguided moderation to protect 'the kids' results in any controversial thread being locked.

Hmmm. I'm saying I'm heterosexual until proved otherwise.

I know I chose to be. I did it because I'm attracted to girls and not to boys. Come to think of it, it was quite an easy decision really.

So we're going down the "choice" avenue are we?So you are straight because you chose to be?I thought I'd give this thread a bump as it is not only interesting and often amusing, but would not be allowed to exist on MI6 where over-zealous and misguided moderation to protect 'the kids' results in any controversial thread being locked.

If anyone thinks it is a choice, then God help the rest of us.

I was taking the mick out of the idea that such an instinctive thing can be down to choice. I thought that was obvious, sorry. I'll put in a smiley or something next time.
I think tastes can change over time. I'm not attracted to the same people I was attracted to when I was 14. If I did I'd be in a lot of trouble. Maybe one day I'll wake up with a strong desire to indulge in some hot crazy man love. Not happened yet but you never know. I hope not though, think of the hygeine issues.
Human desires are flexible, but they are not a matter of choice.

Well, he did go to Eton. So the chances are pretty high that he dabbled in it at one time, or another.
Haven't we all...

There's nothing at all wrong with being hetrosexual, bisexual or homosexual. I don't think Fleming actually was, but being an openly bisexual person, I have no problem with him being any.

Fair enough.
"Hygiene issues".....? I would imagine the man would just put up with you the way you are...!
And seriously - why are men not so worried about those er "issues" when their wives have had a few light ales and willing to bend over backwards to please their men....?

And to think of all these years I've been plying them with Bacardi Breezer. Are there any light ales you'd like to recommend?

I beg to differ. The price of children's shoes. That's all I'll say on the matter.
My brother's gay and he has a great time.
I wish I were gay.

It's a select group, you know. Not anyone is allowed in.

The only one that will really know if Fleming was gay is Fleming himself, end of thread

Are you mad? He's not gay. If he was gay, 007 would be a gay secret agent.
Not necessarily. Gay authors don't just write about gay characters, just as straight authors don't just write about straight characters.
At least three of the directors of the Bond films were or are gay or have shopped on that side of the street, yet in none of their films has 007 been a gay secret agent.

Yeah I reckonPeter Hunt and Lee Tamahori are the only ones I can think of. Who is the other one? Forster?

Guy Hamilton.
Lewis Gilbert.
John Glen.
Martin Campbell.
Roger Spottiswoode.
Marc Forster.
Now, Out of all of them, I would say Gilbert.

As far as I know Gilbert, Hamilton, Campbell and Glen are married.Hmmm well the directors that haven't been married are:
Guy Hamilton.
Lewis Gilbert.
John Glen.
Martin Campbell.
Roger Spottiswoode.
Marc Forster.
Now, Out of all of them, I would say Gilbert.

I reckon Terence Young swung both ways.
LMFAO I remember on an interview.
He was talking, I think it was during the filming of Thunderball, and he was wearing an open shirt, showing a rather hairy chest. He also had his leg crossed over his other one, wearing tight blue shorts, revealing a pair of very smooth, and clean shaven legs.

So yes, you're probably right.
