Plus, I have a feeling that the rawness that comes through this song will be essentially in the movie (i.e Craig's take on bond) ... a perfect complement IMHO.

It ends sort of like a live Eurovision "rock" song performance would endI'm still middle of the road - but the ending really bugs me.... too many 'You know my name' at the end... cringeworthy.

That's not synth - that's actual strings, and actual brass. At first I thought they were synths, but I turned up the orchestra with mixing, and it's the real deal.I mean come on - the synthesizer and the faint cheesy horns all seem to me like they are nothing but placemarkers for a real orchestra to lay in the tracks.

Well, there will probably be some differences in mixing (as there was between the CD version of TWINE and the film version - there are a lot of subtle differences there). I think the orchestra will be a ton louder in the film, or at least I hope it will. And I do pray they'll get rid of those echoes on the bridge. Corny, corny, corny, and this is coming from someone who has really grown to love the song.I doubt we'll see any drastic changes between what we have now and when the film comes out. Back when Garbage's tune leaked, it was pretty much the same as the final version, so I'm betting the song we're listening to now, is pretty much it.

To some that's a disappiontment, to others they don't mind (like me).

Yeah, let's get a wussy pop singer or a classic singer to do the theme! That would sound SO cool!
Imagine if it had been Robbie Williams, or Noel Gallagher, or Bono, or even George Michael.![]()
I was hoping for something more "rockish", the song is a little tame, but it's OK. It's better than most of the audioslave songs, which are just too tame.

It has a cinematic feel to it (orchestra and horns) and has emotion! I have listened to it a couple of times and its highly addictive ... the odds will betray you, and I will replace you ... Why would anybody say **front page** its doesn't have a hook? Bond fans are not going to be satisfied unless its a overcooked brooding ballad ... whats wrong with an emotionally charged energetic take!!! Give the song a chance!!

Actually, the other Brosnan garbage, especially the ones written by David Arnold (as well as ALL the other 21 Bond songs, and I'm including even Never Say Never Again), have a major advantage over YKMN: you could sing and whistle along. Which leads me to

An orchestral, well- written theme doesn't equal an "overcooked brooding ballad".
I'm not trying to offend anyone, and excuse me if I do, but only the new Top 10 generation could narrow down a cinematic feel to the description "orchestra and horns", and call YKMN "emotionally charged".
Once again, people can love this song as much as they want to, I have no problem with that. But that doesn't mean YKMN is appropriate and deserves the praise.
The basic approach of it may not be so wrong, but the execution of it definitely is.
