The plot might not be the best of the whole series, Kamen's score might be dull and the very last scene might be out-of-character, but on the whole it is a brilliant Bond. The pace is very good, the characters are really well written, the sets are well tought-out. Highly entertaining.
And, last but not least, I'm positively hooked to Dalton. What a terrific performer! I love his portrayal. Every time I watch TLD or LTK I think it's a waste he didn't get to do more.
Next on my list now is GE.

I will start a true marathon on September 25th with the Blu-ray collection. I've never watched all the films in order before so it'll be a treat.
Maybe I'll even throw in Casino Royale '67.
On second thought, maybe not.

Only 3 things bother me, really: the plane stunt in the PTS, the ludicrous Saint Petersbourg tank chase, and the disastrous end song by Serra.
Other than that I (once again) had a tremendous time watching it. The title sequence is superb, the plot is solid enough, Pierce is really good, M's character is interesting (I positively love Dench's M in the movies) Campbell's direction has this specific touch perfectly suited for Bond and he knows how to make the most of his actors, and the dialogues are witty/inspired as should be.

But until then, it will be 'Moonraker' on Saturday...the Bond marathon on TV continues...!

I even managed to get through it without running through my usual list of missed opportunities for improvements.
Might be TSWLM next, or FYEO or GF (sorry, Jim, I mean 'G').

Just watched 'The Living Daylights'. My word, it's a good movie!
Agree. I'm in the mood for TLD myself to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of its release in the United States.

I agree. I haven't watched either of Dalton's movies for 2 years or more. Really need to see them again.

These films, by the way, were part of a Bond retrospective at the American Film Institute’s Silver Theatre outside Washington DC.
As for what I will watch next, I have watched both Dr No and Goldfinger recently, so I will probable watch the other 60s Bond film.
