Just watched Octopussy this last week.

With that in mind, watch out Jim, that Bond 50 e-mail is coming and that worst Bond moment is going to be hard to write.

In the mood for the Dalton films. Might take in a double feature of them tonight if I have the time.

I've recently been re-watching the entire series, out of order, just putting on whichever one I happen to be in the mood for. It's gotten to the point that NSNA & CASINO ROYALE '67 are the only ones I haven't viewed in the last few weeks..I have to admit I'm finding it hard to muster up any enthusiasm for either of those. I think I might make it an EON only thing and go back and start all over again with....let's say....A VIEW TO A KILL.

Gotta go read a few chapters of CR before I lose the day (life isn't tough when reading CR is at the top of your To-Do List). After that, thinking it might be fun to start watching the series in Bond book order, so that means CR the movie would be my natural choice (though I can usually watch LTK at the drop of a hat and have no regrets).

I'm currently writing an exhaustive review of the entire James Bond film series for my blog, complete with best lines, trivia, best bits etc. I'm currently watching From Russia With Love. Definitely Connery's best Bond film. 2 down, another 20 to watch....

Today is the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on The Pentagon & The World Trade Center. Today I am drawn to LALD because of the one shot establishing OO7 arriving in New York. After he compares his luggage tag to the license plate of the car he is to meet, he's shown riding up the FDR. The very next shot is the NYC skyline with the Twin Towers still under construction. There's always a moment of pause when I see that.

Every time someone kicks DAD to the kerb yet again, and with the same old tired criticisms (CGI, Jinx, invisible car, Madonna, ramp edits & slo-mo, etc.), it makes me want to watch it again and enjoy it just as much as I did the first time - which was a lot.

Same goes for the magnificent TB and its "boring" underwater climax, the 'campy' DAF with its lack of Tracy closure, the 'cheap' TMWTGG with its juvenile humour and OP: Tarzan yell & clown suit included.

I love 'em all - they're five of my all-time favorite Bond films, along with 'should have had Sean Connery' OHMSS, the 'racist' LALD, rehashed 'greatest hits' TSWLM, 'humourless' TLD and - dare I say it - CR.

As a run-up to SF I think I'll watch these again, and skip QoS.

I plan to kick off my 3rd run-through of the Bonds with Dr. No on Oct. 5th, 2012..50 years exactly since it was released...so what better way to celebrate Global James Bond day?

Skyfall.

Just Skyfall.

That's how I feel. It's going to be torture waiting for the movie in Australia, with it coming out November 22.

If I were in your position I would avoid the internet altogether from Oct 25th onward.
In the good old, dark days before the internet it was easy to avoid hearing other people talk about a movie that opened somewhere else before I'd seen it - now it may well be impossible. I only have to go 'dark' for two weeks where I am, and resist the urge to expose myself to spoilers.
...Which ain't easy.

It has been a toss-up for me as of late. I've been thinking Diamonds Are Forever but, then again, a Tim Dalton film would do for me quite nicely...

Skyfall of course! On the other hand I've been on a Sir Roger trip watching both LALD and AVTAK within the last 36 hours... Perhaps it's time for something from the middle, TSWLM or Moonraker next.

I watched AVTAK yesterday and laughed myself silly throughout.

Its the Bond film i watch least and i'd forgotten how ridiculous Moore looks in it. With his mole removed and too-brignt hair he looks like a characture of himself as Bond. Definitely had some surgery too- his eyes are too wide.

Watched LTK today and enjoyed it as i always do. A very intense Bond film.

Yeah, Moore really looks weird in AVTAK. It's definitely the missing mole that's jarring. Still funny as ever though. Never has a stuntman been more obvious than in this film, they didn't even try. :)

That cosmetic surgery certainly didn't do him any favours - it made him actually look older and like a way past his prime playboy who specialized in manwhoring himself to old grannies and who desperately tries to maintain an illusion of youth and virity...

^ Yeah that was bad..
I am James Bond deprived here in my dorm room. I think when my mom comes to visit, I will have her bring my favorites. I really want to watch License to Kill though. I think that is my favorite Timothy Dalton James Bond film.

Haven't watched a Bond in ages, but feel in the mood for a Live and Let Die / The Man with the Golden Gun double bill. Maybe this weekend.

I've been listening to some of the soundtracks recently on the way to work, pre-build up for 'Skyfall' and I really want to re-visit 'Tomorrow Never Dies' and 'The World Is Not Enough'.

After listening to the soundtracks, they do start to fade into one electronica-piano based theme for Brosnan until David Arnold went back to basics for 'Casino Royale', but the Brosnan films need a re-visit by me I think.

Working my way though the set ready for sky . My gf laughed at me for saying I can't wait to get to OHMSS so we made a bet. The bet was if she watched OHMSS and felt it was anything short of a 8/10 film I would sit through her Sex and The City box set plus films.

She loved the film that much and was close to tears at the end I promised to watch SATC film though not the sequel or the series !!

Double feature night tonight, in honor of Global James Bond Day.. Dr. No, obviously because it's 50 years to the day that it was released and Goldeneye as it was the first one I saw in an actual theater...(A View To A Kill was my very first Bond I ever saw..)

Been watching the BOND films in order since the Blu Ray set was released. Right now I've just got done with THUNDERBALL, and the next is, of course, YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE. Which is precisely the BOND film I felt like watching next. Looking forward to seeing the Blofeld reveal again!
