What hair colour do women prefer on a man ?

View Post

Well I can't say for certain, but I would imagine it would be the same answer that a man would give: it entirely depends on the person.

As a guy, I like women with different colour hair (on different people of course, not all on the same head). I like blondes (especially if they're Russian), brunettes, red heads, some black haired... but it really depends on who it is that determines whether I think it looks good or not. I may be wrong here, but I entirely imagine it is the same for women.

So i'm guessing someone like Wendy won't say "blond" and I wish Timothy Dalton wore a blond wig just to suit my tastes.

But here's a different question which cross-references two other threads in the Bond 22 forum: I know all the women here have cited Bond as their fantasy choice of man to be with, but what if a) Bond were black; or b ) Bond were Chinese?
And of course any other race.

Now I know he isn't and shouldn't ever be, but what if he were? Or rather, what if there were a male spy of a different nationality? Would you girls still like him or do you prefer the image of a white male spy?

Good guess, Welshcat, Darling! :)

Re your preference as to women's hair colour: I have racked my little brain, and I just cannot think of a hair colour for women which you don't like!
You would love me: I used to be a brunette (like my avatar), but am now a dark red, with blonde high- (and low-) lights. Something for everyone!

Seriously, your next question looks like one which can open up all kinds of discussion, but my reply will have to wait until I get out of the office (not enough time at present to give it proper attention).

now ok.. one at a time.. :)
hair colour: in general, I prefer brown hair. Very rarely it happened to me to like blond types. I'm all for the brown hair (and possibly blue eyes). I HAVE had a boyfriend who was blond, but that was an exception.
Actually now that I think about it, lately I've been having this renewed passion for blondish types: Feliciano Lopez (spanish tennis player) who is blondish with blue eyes, and of course, the only real-life James Bond, Marat Safin! (whose hair is sort of light brown-blondish).
So ok, it entirely depends on the person. In general, I don't like red hair. But that too can be fixed by the person lol :)

now now Welshcat darling (btw hilarious reference to the delicatessen earlier LOL :) you ROCK!!) as for your question, I have replied elsewhere to someone who was inquiring, that I would have LOVED to see Denzel Washington play Bond. I adore Denzel Washington and find him devastatingly handsome! Same applies to Lilian Thuram, who is not an actor, but a soccer player of my team, Juventus. He is black, and possibly one of the most good looking men I've ever met. It's just EMBARASSING how good looking he is. But to that, most importantly, he adds an incredible dose of sense of humour, amazing intelligence and interest in philosophy, and a lot of time devoted to humanitarian causes. Ah right, he's one of the top soccer players worldwide and has won anything possible. Yes girls you hear me, basically the perfect man!
of course he isn't perfect: he's married!!! :)
Lilian could be an excellent Bond... I will try to scan and put in attachment the picture of the advertising campaign he's doing for Borsalino.. so you can see for yourselves!
Anyway, I know Bond is not supposed to be black, but I seriously would've liked to see Denzel.. or even Isaiah Washington (the guy who plays Dr. Burke in "grey's anatomy").. and that other actor who is the protagonist of "Kevin Hill".
So yes I would've liked Bond all the same if he were black.. now on Chinese (should we say Asian?), I can't think of anyone particularly attractive, but only because I don't know those actors that well.. but I'm sure that with the right person I would've liked him even if he were Asian. I prefer the black idea, I admit. but just from a merely "esthetics" point of view.. I love Chinese people and find them very enterprising and kind. Same with Japanese.
see, loving Bond is a matter of loving an outrageously handsome, stylish, dangerous, witty man.. who is sexy to death and has that famous "je ne sais quoi", the IT.
so it really doesn't make a difference if he's black, white, yellow, red or whatever... it's the combination that just about kills any woman! :)

Why is the advertising link at the bottom of this page (at least, at the time at which I am reading it) for a product called Blonde Shampoo?

Is this some kind of omen????

No offense, but this is kind of a stupid question.

If women preferred one hair color over all others, the others would have been bred out ages ago. Simple Darwinism.

Women have a variety of tastes. We're human, like men. Some women like one thing, some another, some like variety, and some just don't care. Like men. If I asked "what hair color do men like" that would be silly, wouldn't it? Because if you look at beautiful, amazing women who are very attractive to men, you'll see all kinds. If you flip through Playboy or whatever, there are blondes, brunettes, redheads; Asians, African-Americans, Swedes, every possible coloration. Some men like some more than others, and some like them all. Women are like that; we are individuals.

Dalton's Wendy and other female posters, I'm curious to know what your favorite bond girls are?

And why?

I liked Kara in the living daylights, I've met her-the actress as well.

She had the girl next door feel, and she allowed Dalton's Bond to reflect off in her, showing her totally innocent and a child's eye seeing the secret agent world for the first real time with the best agent out there.

If I may be allowed to answer this too, despite being a guy - I liked her too for precisely the reasons you named above. A nice, innocent-looking, girl-next-door Russian blonde! Mmmmmm... :)

I love Kara because she has this beautiful romance, because of the kiss on the ferris wheel and all that. I love that she is super competent in her own world, but lost in Bond's, because I imagine that's what I'd be like.

I love Aki because she's beautiful, self-contained, and very affectionate and sweet, and because Bond is genuinely happy to see her at Tiger's house.

I love XXX because she is the first genuinely feminist Bond girl, in a totally unselfconscious way. I mean, in the next movie, Bond remarks to Holly Goodhead, "A woman?" which is so stupid and obvious. XXX just is as strong and as capable as Bond, as driven, as focused, and there's no razzmatazz about her being a woman. Also, she hass one of the most amazing faces of any Bond girl.

My other favorites are the bad girls. I am absolutely mad for Fiona Volpe and Xenia Onatopp. They are just deliciously bad.

Agree with Kara -- especially regarding XENIA ONATOPP! (In fact, Xenia is my avatar on another Bond forum.)

I also like LUPE LAMORE. I think Talisa Soto was exquisitely beautiful in LTK, extremely sexy, and I might point out that it was the alluring Lupe who was the first to get Bond into her boudoir in the movie (or was it the other way around . . . ?)

I like PUSSY GALORE, as well. Bear in mind that it was a pretty radical idea for a woman to be as tough and capable as was Pussy, back in 1964.

Overall, I far prefer the bad girls -- as Kara points out, they're so much more fun! Remember: dying is easy, comedy is hard.

Just like I always prefer bad boys! :)

And of course any other race.

Sure, we'd like him! We don't discriminate -- right, BABES?

We may prefer the white male, only because it is more natural, if you will, to prefer one's own race, but I believe that in this day and age, the old barriers of racial prejudice have fallen to the point that people would be accepting of a black Bond. Good heavens, interracial unions happen all the time, so what would be the big deal about seeing it on the screen?

My dear friend Alessandra mentioned Denzel Washington and Isaiah Washington for Bond. I would also add Will Smith.

Sidney Poitier, in his day, would have been an excellent choice for the role, and Harry Belafonte, in my opinion, was even more handsome, and both these men were always considered so by a primarily white female audience.

Then -- I may get flak for saying it, but fact is fact -- O.J. Simpson was one of the handsomest men on the planet. As well, I have met tons of athletes in my business, and there are zillions of great-looking black football players who would have been simply devastating as Bond -- and they could do a lot of their own stunts, as well.

Additionally, there any many Indian actors of the Bollywood films who are drop-dead gorgeous, and have the charm, as well as the beautifully-modulated speaking voice to play a perfect Bond.

Just as a final note, not quite the exact subject, but close. Anyone ever seen the original Japanese Iron Chef on TV? Now there's a stable of talent which could provide some of the best Bond villains since Oddjob:

The Villain: CHAIRMAN KAGA
His Henchmen: HIROYUKI SAKAI -- MASAHARU MORIMOTO -- and -- the God of Szechuan cooking himself: CHEN KENICHI.
The Plot: KAGA's scheme for world domination centres on his three chefs cooking up 30 specially-bred GIANT OCTUPUSES, which will then be dispatched to 30 major cities around the world. The residents of the cities which receive CHEN-SAN's octopuses will have their throats burned out on first bite . . .

Hey SeanValen00V! :)
good question.
My personal favourites are Daniela Bianchi (because Tamara was just mysterious and lovely..), Talisa Soto (now, how sexy was she.. and a bad girl who is actually not bad.. just great), Izabela (I don't write the last name because I always get it wrong!!!! anyway, the Goldeneye girl! lol because she was a kick-xxx doc with computers, and looked weak, but actually was strong, and because she brought out a more sensitive side of Bond), and above all, Carey Lowell, because she was drop-dead gorgeous with a perfect combination of sexiness, strength, wit, intelligence and class.

ok.. this is the female's take on Bond.. but just for a minute, I'd like to turn the table here... now, we're told we have to give Craig a chance and that he looks good (!! eeewwww!!! sorry guys, it's looks we're talking about as usual, not acting capability).
Truth is, in all this there's a serious discrimination. I'm not kidding.
Can you, just for one second, imagine that an actress who is LESS than gorgeous is cast as a Bond girl?????? NO! because that never happened and never would!
It's such a sexual discrimination, seriously.
I can't even think of a young actress whom I could propose as Bond girl who isn't quite attractive.. because there aren't any!!!!
Why doesn't anyone think of hiring Meryl Streep as Bond girl.. why didn't anyone when she was younger. she's such an outstanding actress.. well, she doesn't have the looks!
looks are important in Bond just as much as in a Bond girl, despite what men seem to think.
now, why on earth should men have all their gorgeous Bond girls as usual and we cannot have our usual gorgeous Bond?? that is using two different measures.
Ah, but Bond doesn't have to be that attractive, ah but the actor will convey a great Bond??! who cares?! nobody is discussing the acting here, but we have a right to have someone who looks the part AND acts the part.
Why do we have to give in and be reasonable and focus on acting performance of the actor and forget he doesn't look like Bond??
well then, let's have someone who looks far older than the age Vesper Lynd is, and doesn't look at all as cute as she's supposed to be.
It's a provocation, but you girls, and you guys, know there's truth in this....

Yes, Alessandra, there is truth in that. No actress who was not unimpeachably attractive can be a Bond girl. Leaving aside that one who was a transexual for the moment. :) You're absolutely right. So how is that a man who is not unimpeachably handsome has been cast as Bond, then? Sure, it's controversial, but it has happened and is accepted by many. I like Craig, but there's no way he is unimpeachably handsome. So how can it happen with Bond but not the Bond girls?

Because society is still sexist to a degree. Women are still judged a lot more by looks than men. A man can have less-than-perfect looks and still be a sex symbol. A man can be in his fifties and still play someone promiscuous without comment. If a woman does, she's playing a man-eater. And so on. Men can have wrinkles and lose their hair and all the rest of it and still be considered attractive. Female actresses are under much more pressure to keep their looks. Look at Pierce Brosnan in DIE ANOTHER DAY. Do you think Halle Berry will be playing action heroines aged 50? Can't see it.

So it's just something that's already out there in society. It's not Bond.

I'm just saying, men who tell us Bond girls (:)) "Craig is not that bad as far as Bond looks are concerned" should stop and think for a moment, how they would feel if the same happened with a Bond girl. Meryl Streep as Vesper Lynd??! EEWWW!! Susan Sarandon as Vesper Lynd?? eewwww!! (I mean it does sound totally out of place to me too, don't misunderstand me). And I can't find ONE young actress who wouldn't at least have part of the characteristics.. well ok, Courtney Love as Vesper Lynd?? that's darker, grittier Vesper Lynd! lol :)
So please, just say "yea you're right, you have a right to complain!" when we talk about Craig! lol :) just think about how it would be in reversed roles.. :)
and for the record.. there's no way I wouldn't say a man is right to complain if a less than beautiful AND refined woman was cast as Vesper.
I am the first to say, if they cast Jolie, it's bye bye Casino Royale for me, not even the DVD. The woman is just disgusting to me. (apologies to her fans out t here, it's just a personal opinion, and the true reaction I have when I see her).
I still think Keira Knightley would make a good Vesper Lynd. (beautiful, classy AND very good at playing dangerous women, as per her last movie). Maybe too young, but that can be worked upon with makeup. making someone look older is certainly not a problem as it is to make them look younger! lol
So, the problem stands. Please men stop saying "why do you complain about Craig's looks". we won't bring up the issue so often as we did (me in particular, since I have a dislike thing for actors who don't "look" the part :)) but let us, when questioned, express our dislike for the aspect of the guy.. without accusing us of "not being positive" and all that! :)
As Wendy said in front of a fantastic Craig poster that I think you made up Spy (in another thread):
fabulous, fabulous, fabulous poster! Ugly guy. :)
