You suggesting that Felix and I should go on TV and have our very own counseling show?? LOL :)

How's that Felix??
well since Tony is the star which I will introduce to Eon to become Bond, we sort of are second to him... but TV income is not so bad either... LOL :)

I think this is a brave choice ( dont want to get into the hes ugly etc) and I applaud EON for this .

Hes not my first choice and I have to say hes not my 2nd or 3rd either but i do firmly believe Daniel Craig will bring to the part a menace thats not been seen since the Dalton era.

I think he looks good and will sway the public after the initial teaser trailers etc are released , they have a real shot at making the definitive Bond movie that ties up all loose ends as we get to why the man is who he is.

WELL DONE

Thank goodness it wasnt Owen or Bana.

Hi everyone! I am new a new member of the forum and this is my first post.
I am a huge 007 fan from Greece and I was very disappointed when I heard (or should I say read) the news of Daniel Craig's casting. All I have to say is this:

DANIEL CRAIG RESIGN NOW AND SAVE YOURSELF FROM THE EMBARRASMENT!

Goodness, just how many other famous people does Craig manage to look like? Here he's Mackenzie Crook's twin. People have compared his looks to those of Christopher Cazenove, Sid James and Vladimir Putin. I thought he resembled Nigel Havers at the Bond press conference, while at other times his face reminds me of Mark E. Smith's.

Is this guy the most chameleonlike actor since Peter Sellers, or what?

lol there was a "murrrderr" in this "room".. everytime I think Peter Sellers, I see Clouseau. just one of the most hilarious characters ever.. I am not sure how he sounds in English, but dubbed in Italian he has this incredibly strong French accent which makes him hilarious. :)

Ale,

Peter Sellers' "French accent" as Clouseau is every bit as thick and bizarre in English as it is in Italian.

Ironically, Sellers wanted to play Evelyn Tremble/James Bond in the first Casino Royale STRAIGHT, as sort of a "Connery lite". The producers and directors had other ideas, which is why he disappeared from the CR One set so often (fits of disappointment).

I don't think Craig has that problem....Tell me, with the new Craig photos out, does your mother still think he looks like Putin? They're already camping out in St. Petersburg and Moscow, perfectly willing to wait thirteen months... :)

View Post

Lol Tony :)
I never really had a chance to see an entire Pink Panther-Clouseau movie in English which is why I was unsure about his accent :)
I remember this sentence "therrre was a murrrrderrr in this rrrooomm" which was hilarious, but wasn't sure about the rest. I gotta go find a DVD so that I can watch it in English too now!! :)
As for my mom.. it's not even that she THINKS Craig looks like Putin... she literally confuses him with Putin when she sees pictures! ;P
To her (my mom is a very up-to-date lady) Bond is either Sean Connery or Pierce Brosnan (she really likes Pierce, just like her daugher! lol :)).
She says Craig is definitely not her cup of tea for Bond.. but the best is yet to come, because when she sees Angelina Jolie is rumoured to be the Bond girl.. she's gonna go on a hunt for producers to kill them!! :) :)
I know men like her, but I'm with my mom on this.. now seriously, IF Angelina is in the movie, then that's it for me, the only sight of the woman makes me wanna crash the screen!! lol.. not nice of me but I can't help it, I cannot stand her. Very Italian-like reaction but hey, I can't help myself! lol :)

I must tell you my last name (Bacchetta) means STICK in English.. But also wand.. infact I'm nicknamed (no kidding) Bacchetta Magica (magic wand) by my friends! (especially when I go to the stadium and I never see my Juventus team lose a match lol :))

After driving Brosnan out of business, he is going to do the same with Steve Martin as Clouseau. He, actually, looks the part more than he does Bond.

And then, just wait until the new Austin Powers is released....

I'm hoping history will repeat itself. Remember, after the commercial and critical dissapointment of "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" and George Lazenby's less than succesful performance, the film-makers were able to lure back Sean Connery to make "Diamonds Are Forever".
So I'm hoping that "Casino Royale" will die a death, and Daniel Craig will totally embarrass himself. The film will flop, and Craig will give up the role to save himself further embarrasment.
Then the producers realising what a grave mistake they've made, will go back to Pierce Brosnan, and beg him to come back and do one more.
Brosnan will be gracious enough to do it, just for the fans, who he knows absolutely love him and don't give a damn how old he is.
This is what I'd like to see happen. Brosnan's got one more in him, dammit!

Very good question, Magic Wand...

I have two distinct opinions of Angelina Jolie. Physically, she is one of the most attractive women I have ever seen (of course, it's been a while since you and I have crossed paths... :) ). And, I appreciate her heart in her adpoting a child and her championing of children's causes.

That said, when I hear her speak, my first reaction is "Boy, she's out there where the buses don't run!" Meaning: weird, in a disturbing way. So, she's not a "pin-up" gal of mine...it's nice to enjoy a woman's company without having to look for the Exits ( regardless of her physical beauty). :)

I'd see her as Vesper, but not really look forward to her interviews...

Lol :)
First of all welcome ChickenStu.
I understand your disappointment as Brosnan fan (and I LOVE Brosnan as Bond, trust me), but seriously.. talking facts, before they get to doing the new one after CR Pierce will definitely look too "seasoned" to do another one. Trust me, I'd love to see Pierce do another one, but objectively, there's no chance that will ever happen.. he could do this one and go, he's not doing it, and unfortunately he's gone forever.. like it or not, it's reality.. but hey, we'll see him in a lot of other movies! :)
I'll be glad enough if Craig performs very well in the movie, but I don't think that'll be enough to garner a good box office result. Even with great acting, he doesn't look the part and that's the reason why people don't side with him Look at CNN poll... 55 percent say i do not care.. of the people who do vote for "is daniel craig the right choice for Bond" 35 percent say no and only 10 percent say yes.
And the reason certainly isn't the acting (he's definitely a good actor) but the looks.
people simply don't show up at the theater if they don't like someone in a role. And that just based on photos they see. The general public doesn't spend time looking out for samples of scenes on the internet.. they look at photos of the guy and try and picture the guy in the role, that's it.
Only thing which could help in this way is if they make a REALLY fantastic movie trailer. And publicize it like hell. Am still thinking most people won't be sold, but could help.
To me, I've said many times, Craig lacks some fundamentals to be Bond (good looks, charm, style, class). Which make all the difference between Bond and a whatever else action/spy movie.
ciao! :)

I was trying to find some sort of news on that Angelina Jolie rumour, and instead as front article on msnbc entertainment page I found this:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9546090/

it had nothing new in the criticism.. but as you can note, CBn is quoted in the story!..actually now that I read better.. THIS THREAD is quoted. don't like the fact that they didn't of course bother to say most of our critics are just harsh satire, and took the most radical they needed (being a journalist, I understand that they wanted to make their point and took what they wanted, but it's just not fair). can't remember whose post that was honestly. obviously the writer hasn't taken the disturb to read all of this forum, where the majority is clearly PRO Craig....
Anyway, just found the reference funny. :)

Jolie would be an even bigger mistake than Craig. The contrast would be waaay too great. Craig needs someone who'll make him look good. I nominate Dame Judi as Sylvia Dench? :)

LMAO Welsh :)
definitely agree that Jolie would be a far worse mistake than Craig. No way a woman who portrays Vesper well can make him look good.. although Dench... LOL :)
Otherwise, it should just be me... then it's guaranteed that the attention will all be on him!! :)
