total letdown, buzz kill. I hate those powder blues jerseys-they always lose when they wear them! Burn them now please.

Well, another major letdown... but we can still get in! Just need to win out and get help from everyone else It all starts on Sunday against the Faiders with my girlfriend and I in attendance at Arrowhead! If I remember, I'll get a shot of us in our seats so you can see that your old pal CBB looks a hell of a lot more handsome than his internet namesake

Haha, growing up that was the go-to word my grandpa and I had to describe the team we hate more than any other! And one of my best friends, who is a Donkey fan, uses it too

Chargers came back after 28-7 halftime score to win in OT after 3 ints, a pick 6 and giving up 355 yards rushing...amazing.

Chiefs did themselves no favors losing to Pittsburgh... but a playoff scenario still exists:
-Beat San Diego
-Browns beat Ravens
-(gulp) Jaguars beat Texans
Not out of the question completely, but... crap, a lot of stuff has to go down. After next weekend, I'll either be gearing up for the playoffs or mock drafting.

That was a great game the other night for the Chargers. Definitely one of the more exciting games I've watched in a while, and it was nice to see one of the teams that I root for actually pull through and win a meaningful game. I really do hope the Chargers make the playoffs so I'll have a team to root for rather than simply rooting against New England.

Honestly, I think the hardest part of that equation will be the Chiefs taking care of their own business, although that's certainly a possibility since they're a good football team. I could see the Browns beating Baltimore, since Houston was able to do it last week with their 4th string QB. And, I could see Jacksonville beating Houston since, well, Houston is down to their 4th string QB.
Unrelated, I'd like to commend the NFL on managing to get everyone to forget about the Mueller Report that was supposed to be investigating the NFL's handling of the Ray Rice case. They've managed to set the table for a very quiet release when (if?) it's ever completed and released. Still, the FACT remains that ROGER GOODELL MUST BE FIRED.
And, while we're talking about firings in the NFL, Woody Johnson, do the right thing and do what I've suggested in my signature: Fire John Idzik, as well as everyone else in the organization. The Jets need to start over as though they are an expansion franchise that is just starting to fill out its support staff and roster.

I don't care if it seems like I'm endorsing the Broncos... beat Oakland. Always.

Looks as though there's finally, finally reason for hope for fans of the NY Jets.
That's two people who have actually been successful GMs in the league who will be advising Johnson on who to hire. Surely they won't put another accountant in charge of the football operations.
But, this being the Jets, part of me just can't wait to see how they manage to mess this up.

A good, not great, season for the mighty Chiefs. 9-7 is respectable in my book and, while playoffs would have been nice, I count this as a successful year. Some good things to remember, not to mention a new franchise sack leader in Justin Houston and our first sweep of San Diego since 2003! Here's to 2015!
And a late Merry Christmas for tdalton! http://espn.go.com/n...rex-ryan-monday

NFL's Black Monday is already underway:
Jim Harbaugh, 49ers agree to part ways
As for the second item above, it's about time. Good to see that Woody Johnson didn't wait for later in the morning to do this, as the quicker those two are out of the organization the quicker the Jets can begin picking up the pieces of this trainwreck of a season. Good riddance to the both of them.
EDIT:
More firings from today:
Chicago Bears fire GM Emery, HC Marc Trestman, OC Aaron Kromer

With the Chargers out, I can't say that I really like any of the teams left in the field, save for the Cardinals, who have no chance. I'll probably end up pulling for the winner of Cowboys/Lions.
On the coaching front, it's going to be very interesting to see how this whole Doug Marrone/New York Jets situation turns out. Just based on all of the information out there, I think that the Bills should open a tampering investigation against the Jets should New York end up hiring Marrone. Not saying that there was tampering, but there was something fishy about it given how some of the dots surrounding the whole thing could be connected by some.
Even worse, if they hire Doug Marrone that's a huge step back from where they already were. I guess that's why the phrase "Same old Jets" was invented.

The Cowboys got robbed.
Hey The Dove, sorry for the loss. Peyton doesn't look like himself the last 2 months. He must be hurt(same thing for Rivers).
I want Indy to beat the Pats. Go Packers.

Yes, the Cowboys were robbed. The NFL has turned into a bad joke, with integrity issues cropping up every week. At the very least this offseason, Dean Blandino must be fired, if to only "protect the shield". There is zero chance of operating an officiating department with any kind of integrity with him still in charge. He should have been fired, as many owners and GMs called for back in August, the moment he stepped off of Jerry Jones' party bus.
And, yes, sorry about your Broncos, Dove. Was pulling for them. Can't say that I have much reason to watch the rest of the playoffs, but might have to suck it up and pull for the Colts, although I despise all four teams left in the tournament.

Cheers fellows! Still glum about the loss but still feel optimistic about the future.. However, it turns out that Manning was not only fighting one but TWO hip injuries so I'm very much fearing this could be the end of the road for him especially if our OC Adam Gase does get hired as the HC of one of the teams hiring.. I'm sure Peyton doesn't want to come back if it means having to learn a whole new system under a new offensive coordinator. But we'll see... Meanwhile, the Cowboys did get hosed by an inexplicable rule but correct call...Calvin Johnson catch (or non-catch) part II?? LOL..
Family ties having me rooting for the Pats to get to the Super Bowl and square off against no doubt, the Seahawks. Based on their play against the Panthers, I fear Seattle most likely will be repeating as SB champs.. They looked downright scary!

I also think the Packers will beat Seattle, even up there.

Ahhhh....the hips...that's where all the power comes from. That makes sense...I wonder if he'll come back. It would be sad to go out with two very poor showings in playoff games. Still, 37, 55 and 39 td passes the last 3 years is impressive as hell.

Just an update...Manning actually has been playing with a torn quad muscle for the last 6 weeks...now it makes sense. No wonder he didn't make a run for that easy first down.. Yeah, I would not like him to end his career on such a sad note..shades of Dan Marino's last game when the Dolphins got thrashed 62-7 by the Jaguars..

BREAKING NEWS,,, John Fox and the Broncos have mutually agreed to part ways... So make the Broncos the SIXTH team to be in search of a head coach! Hmm.. Mike Shanahan is still out there...he lives in Denver....put 2 and 2 together...hmmm!!

This is an opportunity the Jets have to take advantage of. Fox has taken two different franchises to the Super Bowl. The Jets have a solid defense (well, a terrific front seven) and almost $50 million in cap space that they are required to spend this offseason. Fox could help get us over the hump and at least back to the playoffs this coming season.
EDIT:
It also seems to depend on which report you're reading as to what actually happened. Some reports are it was mutual, others have Fox being fired. Even saw somewhere that the entire staff has been fired, which would mean that Gase is not being promoted to HC.

I was happy when SD canned Marty Shottenheimer because I didn't trust him in the playoffs (before he was hired) and he proved me right so I'd be happy if I was a bronco fan if they promote the OC to HC. Manning will be better off too. Now on to rehab Peyton.

He was politely fired. As in not retained or resigned. If Elway wanted him he would offer him a deal. If he can't win a ring with Peyton in that stadium how is he gonna do with the Jets?
