The end, well, we deserved it for having so many blown chances.
Maybe a 5-11 finish is more realistic

I know that I was critical of Sanchez earlier in this thread, and I have been on record saying that I needed to see him play well against a great team to be fully on board with the Jets drafting him. Let me just say now that I am 100% fully on board the Sanchez bandwagon.
This is one of the best days in recent times to be a Jets fan. Things finally look like they're headed in the right direction. Thank you Coach Ryan!

I can't tell you how happy I am that they hired Ryan as the coach. I've been wanting him to be the team's coach even long before he was even mentioned as a candidate for the job. I've always loved his approach to the game, and I've always thought that his swagger was something that the Jets absolutely needed to break out of their usual defeatist attitude when it came to playing the Patriots. I didn't expect Ryan to accomplish it as quickly as he did, but I am 100% convinced that this is the guy that's going to get us to a Super Bowl. Hopefully the ownership sees this as well and hangs onto him even if it doesn't happen within the first couple of years.

Rivers throws for a career high 436 yards and they call a run (!) play on 4th and goal. Why pay this guy $92M and NOT give him the ball in this situation?

Re: Jets: Congrats!
Thanks. It's been one of those rare days where it's truly great to be a Jets fan.
I didn't see the play, but I do agree 100% that Rivers should be given the ball in that situation, especially with LT not being the same runner he used to be (although I know he didn't play in this particular game) and with the running game in general for the Chargers not being quite what it used to be (although still reasonably good, I suppose). If Rivers is truly the franchise guy (which I certainly think he is), then he needs to have the ball in his hands when it's time to go win the game.

Let me say... Go RAVENS!!!!!

Congrats to all Jets fans. 3-0
Thanks. Looks like they might manage to get off to a 4-1 start this season (loss next week to New Orleans followed by a probable win over Miami in Week 5), which is certainly much better than I saw them doing this season.

Detroit : Congratulations to the Lions who FINALLY got off the schnide and won a game!! Things might be on the way up for them finally.
Washington: Hows the seat region, Coach Zorn? I imagine it must be getting if not scolding hot, at least nice and tosty!!
Cleveland: Mangini, WTF?? benching Quinn and putting in poor Derek Anderson when the game was already way beyond salvage... I forsee the so-called Man-genius not lasting more than this season with the Browns.
Cincinnati Bengals: WOW!! Impressive comeback win over the Steelers to end their streak of 8 victories over Cincinnati at home.
NY Jets: Sanchez and Rexy Ryan continue to impress me!! This could be a great year for the Jets.
Tennessee and Miami: 0-3 for both teams... all I can say is WTF??? *shakes head*
Seattle Seahawks: Please, for god sake..don't EVER, EVER wear those putrid looking lime-green jerseys again!!
Oakland Raiders: Can we now officially pronounce JaMarcus Russell a HUGE bust of a first round draft pick? Yes..after the way he played yesterday I think it's safe to say we can..
and finally...
Arizona Cardinals: Yep..its time to face the fact that reality has come crashing back down to Earth and that the Cards were mearly pretenders in last year's Super Bowl..they looked awful last night!

*relishing the fact my Broncos are now 3-0 after putting a good, old-fashioned -whooping on the hapless Raiders!! * but other observations I had from this weekend's NFL action:
Detroit : Congratulations to the Lions who FINALLY got off the schnide and won a game!! Things might be on the way up for them finally.
Washington: Hows the seat region, Coach Zorn? I imagine it must be getting if not scolding hot, at least nice and tosty!!

I don't think that it's necessarily a case of the Cardinals having been pretenders in the Super Bowl moreso than it's almost become a foregone conclusion that the Super Bowl loser is not going to fare particularly well the next season. It even happened to the Patriots last year (although going 11-5 isn't at all bad, they still missed the playoffs).
As for the Jets, even though I'm officially (and probably the last Jets fan to be) on board the Mark Sanchez bandwagon, I'm tempering my enthusiasm a bit when thinking that this could finally be THE year. Until they show down the stretch during the crunch time of the playoff push that they're a contender, I'm not going to be 100% convinced. There have been seasons where the Jets have started out 6-1 (2000) and 8-3 (2008) only to have the whole thing come crashing down on them. I think that will ultimately be in the back of the minds of every Jets fan going into the later parts of the season. It's a bit like the Red Sox curse in a way, in that until the long history of ineptitude on the part of the franchise is finally exorcised, it's still going to be something that hangs over the franchise in some way.
Definite congratulations to the Lions. As a fan of a historically bad team (the Jets), I have nothing but sympathy for them as I have some idea about how hard it is to root for a team that you know isn't going anywhere. I actually thought that they were going to win that game yesterday, and I wasn't even the last bit surprised that they pulled it out. That should say something about just how bad the Redskins (who I think may just be the worst team in the league) actually are.

Jammarcus Russel: Bust...or mega bust? You see, when you coulda drafted an Adrian Peterson(!) or Calvin Johnson and still aquired Stanford QB Trent Edwards(competent if unspectacular) then you're are Mega-Bust!
Gotta love the Jets...and Vikings.

No praise for Drew Brees & the 3-0 Saints?
And on another note, glad to see my second favorite team (aka fallback for superbowl pick if the Steelers bomb that chance) are doing good so far.
