I meant Farve has now actually played for two teams following a retirement, kinda like Connery's Bond career.

hmmm I wonder what Johnboy thinks of this??
Anyways..tonight it will finally be time to see whether the Josh McDaniels fiasco is gonna be worth it as my Broncos take on the 49ers...can't wait!!
Not a fan of this decision. I'm not sure I can forgive him for what he did, and I really wonder if it was worth the risk signing somebody who's been out of football this long. But I'll wait and see how he handles himself from here on out.
But overall, not pleased.

So far I am NOT impressed with Josh McDaniels and my Broncos. Kyle Orton just freaking sucks!! 4 INT's in the first 2 games..3 by the Broncos all together in the loss to Seattle the other day.. Some awful coaching calls on the part of McDaniels.. and now Chris Simms suffers a Tom Brady like knee hit (though it doesn't appear that the injury was as serious but we'll see).. Thats it this team is at best a 3-13 team..
Peter King is picking NE over CHICAGO in the SB.

But Favre's on his 4th team. He's the Sean Connery of the NFL with his two retirements, third team(film).
1.Falcons
2.Packers
3.Jets
4.Vikings
So the Vikings are his NSNA?
In other news, anyone else going to try to catch tomorrow's Steelers v Panthers preseason?

Hmm...I guess Jay Cutler got the last laugh as the Bears whomped the Broncos 27-17 the other day.. But things are not getting any better.. Kyle Orton's dislocated finger may keep him out well into the regular season.. Chris Simms has a high ankle sprain..so Denver's only options are rookie Tom Brandstater (who will start on Thursday against Arizona) and journeyman..Ingle Martin...(who?).. Time for Denver to dial 1-800-I NEED A QB pronto!!
I'd trade for the Jets' Eric Ainge or Kelly Clemens if I was Denver's GM.

Oakland: Well, they're the Raiders to begin with..but still when your head coach in Tom Cable is under investigation for punching and breaking an assistant coach's jaw, that is low..even for Oakland.
Kansas City: Matt Cassel injured, head coach Todd Haley firing offensive coordinator Chan Gailey right before the regular season starts (which Buffalo and Tampa Bay also did) NOT GOOD!
Denver: The whole Shannahan fired, McDaniels vs Cutler fiasco, the Brandon Marshall drama, the lackluster performance and injuries of Orton and Simms ect..
San Diego: Merriman arrested for choking his girlfriend..
I think it's safe to say the AFC West isn't the class division of the NFL this year!!

I think he'll take out his frustrations on Jamarcus Russel next week.
Yeah, the afc west is a joke. SD will sleep walk their way to the title.
Hey Dove, how about Oakland paying a #1 in 2011 for Seymour? if they suck next near and we know they will, the pick goes to NE.

Ahh yeah I did hear that Miss "A Shot At Love" (or whatever her reality show is called) was hammered, so it looks like this may be a case of he said /she said..well we'll see what happens..
I've got your Chargers picked as one of the AFC reps for the Super Bowl this year.. Denver will definitely struggle (in the words of Jim Mora Sr. " PLAYOFFS??? Don't Talk About Playoffs!!"

Eagles/Packers/Giants/Saints/Bears/Vikings/Cards...

NFL Looking into Possible Violation
This irritates me in a vast number of ways. One being that this move directly cost us a trip to the playoffs last season. Favre said in an interview somewhere (although I don't think that it appears in this article) that he wanted to sit for a couple of games and let Kellen Clemens play while he rested up his shoulder. If the Jets had allowed that, I'm 100% convinced that Clemens could have won just one of those games down the stretch that would have gotten us to the playoffs. Surely he could have beaten San Francisco or Seattle, as the gameplan would have dictated handing off to the AFC's leading rusher Thomas Jones (someone the Jets apparently forgot was on their roster after they beat Tennessee )
The second reason that this irritates me is that, who knows, maybe Brett Favre would have entertained the idea of returning to the Jets if he hadn't been treated in this manner. If a player says that he's injured, especially someone like Favre who hasn't missed a start since he became the Packers starter back in the early 1990s, then he's injured and he's got to get some treatment, or sit down for a game or two if necessary. With Brett Favre, the Jets are a Super Bowl contender this season. People can say what they want about Favre (and I know I did before he came to my team) but he brought a swagger to the Jets that I've never seen before. Usually when the Jets walk onto the field against the Patriots, the feeling of defeat is already there, and it's just a matter of how much. With Favre, they took the field in New England with the sense of confidence that I've never seen from a Jets team. With Favre on the field, I fully expected to win every game, and I expected the Jets to actually not collapse at the end, which is the organization's MO. The fact that they could have actually achieved a record of 13-3 had they taken care of some rather easy business after the Tennessee win is evidence of what Favre brought to the team, because that's never happened for the Jets, and never will happen for them now.
All of this is just further evidence of the fact that, over the long haul, the Jets have been THE worst run franchise in the history of the NFL. The level of ineptitude by this franchise is staggering to a degree in which I often ask myself why I even bother rooting for them. Truly pathetic.
And, to top it off, the Jets don't replace Favre with a decent QB, and the receiving corps actually managed to get worse in the offseason, which is something that I didn't think was at all possible considering how bad they've been since Wayne Chrebet retired.
Oh well, may the 0-16 campaign officially begin.

Chin up. The Jets are gonna be much better than the Bills or Fins for the foreseeable future...and Tom Brady is 32...in 3-4 years the Jets will totally own the AFC East.

in 3-4 years the Jets will totally own the AFC East.
The problem is, the Jets are always 3-4 years away from owning the AFC East. Back when Bledsoe was the QB for New England, they were just a couple of years away. I remember at that time people saying "Just wait until Bledsoe retires, and the Pats will be in rebuilding mode again, and it'll be the Jets turn." That turned out well.
The Jets won't haven even the slightest of remote chances to seriously take on New England until Bill Belichick retires or moves on to another team. The entire organization has such an inferiority complex concerning the Patriots that it's virtually impossible to beat them. Even last year, when Favre had the team take the field thinking that they were going to win (a first), they still managed to blow what should have been an insurmountable lead going into the second half. The Jets are a gutless organization that doesn't go for the win when they have the chance. They always play it safe. Last year, the defense was one of the better ones in the league, until the Patriots ripped them to shreds in the second half of that Thursday night game, and after that, they became so afraid to blitz that they were rendered ineffective for the rest of the season. That's a microcosm of the Jets organization as a whole.
The problem with the Jets is that they're always about the future. It's never win right now with them. It's always, "we'll get them next year". Well, frankly, I'm tired of waiting until next year, and I've seen countless great teams squandered by the team's desire to save money. They seem to be the only New York sports team that doesn't want to spend money.
I actually saw a PR video they put out one time on their website a few years ago that stated that the team's goal was to simply win games. The goal is not to JUST win games. The goal is to win a SUPER BOWL. Now that I know that they have no interest in doing so (which is evident through their actions, transactions, and overall display of ineptitude), then I have virtually no interest in them as an organization. I'll still root for them, but I'm going to be far more interested in my other "favorite" teams, the Chargers and the Packers (I'm a huge fan of Aaron Rodgers, so I'll pull for him this year).

ouch.
Glad you like my Chargers.

I've always been a bit of a Chargers fan. I know that you're not much of a fan of Schottenheimer (and I can certainly understand that given the playoff problems the Chargers had during that time), but I've always liked him and really liked how his Chargers teams played in the regular season (it's a shame they couldn't ever have translated that into the postseason, that team could have been one of the all-time greats). I really like Phillip Rivers, too, and the only time that I'm not rooting for the Chargers is if they're playing the Jets or if they're directly competing with the Jets for a playoff spot. Outside of that, I pull for the Chargers each and every week.
One more thing about the Jets/Patriots. One of the Mikes on "Mike and Mike in the Morning" said the most true (and funny) thing about that supposed "rivalry". They said that it wasn't a rivalry, because "there is no rivalry between a hammer and a nail". That just about sums it all up concerning the Jets.

Which was the more disheartening loss?
a ) The Bengals losing on a freak tipped pass against the Broncos today.
or
b ) The University of Kentucky football team falling to ranked LSU on a similar type play back in 2002(?).
I was at both games...and was crushed both times

As for my Jets, they looked OK, but until they beat a good team (which they certainly didn't today), I'll remain unimpressed. New England is going to break all sorts of offensive records next week in their annual thumping of the Jets at the Meadowlands.

ouch. Sorry dude...I was rooting for Cincy...but what a freky play!
The Jets won handidly with a rookie QB. Not bad a start for them. Drew Brees was ungodly today...The vikings look like the class of their division as of tonight.

While our offense looked flat, our defense looked impressive...Ahh well.. still a win is a win..
And I get a huge boost of satisfaction that Jay Cutler in his debut last night with Da Bears was absolutely AWFUL with 4 INT's!! *insert evil laugh here* Too bad Chicago!! This is what you wished for!!

OH THANK YOU LORD!!! LOL What an incredible finish my Broncos had against the Bengals (or should I call them the Bungles as they apparently can not even snap the ball correctly on a chip shot field goal!! )

Yeah he was terrible. Great arm but...throwing off your back foot up the middle late is a qb 101 thing not to do and he did it about ten times. But...I think they will get much better as the season goes along.
Nice win...now what happens when the Broncos play adult football players?
