Alas, she, and the rest of Packer nation are taking solace in the fact that now Favre is tormenting the Vikings with his will he/won't he drama antics, and enjoying every minute of it.

Dear Brett
I know this is a sport we love and have a hard time giving up. This game is the greatest in the world, the strategies, the misdirection, it is just like the Gladiator battles in the Roman Coliseum in the ancient times, and we get to live them each Sunday in front of a packed stadium and millions of TV viewers. Brett, I played football to the point that my right elbow became nearly useless. In my older days I could not even throw a football, but I still loved the game. I would go to the field In Baltimore and watch my Colts play on without me. Even when the Colts moved and we got the Old Cleveland Browns, I was on the field with those players, just talking and catching up on things. But you see, I made one little mistake Brett. I stayed too long. I left the Colts to play in San Diego for the Chargers. Nothing against the great city of San Diego, or their fans, but how many people remember that? Not many. I didn't play in many games because I was injured and too old to play. SO what the hell are you thinking? This is an insult to the fans who would follow you to Hell if you guaranteed it would lead to a Super Bowl. I played against the Packers a few times, next to Baltimore some of the best fans in football. Seriously Brett, I could kill a man in Baltimore and not even go to prison. I bet you could have done the same in Green Bay. And I would never even consider playing for a rival. To play for the Jets is one thing-and yes if Don Shula had the sense to start me, Joe Namath would have had to be in the adult film industry to be known today-but for the Vikings? Are you nuts? You suck in Domes! You won't make a good team better, you will make them worse! Brett, please hang it up. You just don't know how much Green Bay will be to you one day. Until the day the Lord called me home, Baltimore accepted me with open arms, and it is a relationship I treasure even up here in Heaven. Green Bay would do anything for you, Brett. Don't insult their memories of you, and don't stay too long in the game.
Sincerely,
Johnny Unitas
Well if he doesn't listen to Johnny U then what hope is there?

1 QB drama over,1 more to go.
I'm not 100% convinced that the Favre saga is over, although I sincerely hope that it is. I wouldn't be surprised if, come Week 4 or 5, and the quarterback situations for either the Vikings or the Jets are in shambles, a certain phone call was made to Hattiesburg, Mississippi to see if a certain someone was interested. The Vikings would, obviously, be the much more likely scenario there, but if Sanchez and Clemens are struggling in New York (which they most likely will be, as that's the worst 1-2 QB combo in the league), the media will pounce on that if for no other reason that it would give them the opportunity to start more Favre rumors, since that's all they want to talk about anyway.

Good points tdalton... Hmm I wonder if Kyle Orton or Chris Simms can't get the job done for my Broncos that certain phone call will be made to Hattiesburg on behalf of Josh McDaniels... LOL
Maybe. I certainly wouldn't rule anything out with Favre, and I would imagine that, at the very least, the beat reporters for each team with QB problems at around the 1/4 season mark will at least ask the question to a team official, at the very least, behind closed doors. I think that the Broncos, however, will be just fine with Chris Simms and Kyle Orton. I think that Orton did a fine job in Chicago, especially given that the coaches up there always wanted it to be Grossman's job over Orton. I also thought that Simms got treated unfairly in Tampa. I always found it ridiculous that he never got a chance to earn his job back after playing much of the fourth quarter of that one game with a ruptured spleen. Surely the organization could have allowed him his job back after he tried to lead his team back for a win while suffering from a life-threatening condition.
I see the Vikings and Jets at the most likely destinations (and I'm not just saying this because I'm a fan of the Jets) simply because Favre already knows the systems there and would be able to step in and be effective from Day 1.
The Jets do have a new head coach, but the OC from the last few seasons, Brian Schottenheimer, is still there and will still be running his offensive system, which Favre knows. I, for one, would welcome Favre back to New York with open arms, as the Jets, with the exception of the QB position, are built to win now, and I just do not understand the ridiculous decision on the part of Jets management not to either convince Favre to return or to go out and heavily pursue a veteran QB like Kurt Warner or Jeff Garcia, as this team needs a veteran QB, not a rookie. By the time Sanchez is ready (if he's ever ready), the rest of the talent will either be too old to be effective or they will have already retired.

I hear Michael Vick is now available!
Hopefully that situation doesn't get dragged out for 4-5 months like the the latest (the sixth, I think) chapter of the Brett Favre Saga. Hopefully he finds a team quickly so that we don't have to hear about that story all throughout the training camps, preseason games, and the first half of the season.

Too bad he can't hit the broad side of a barn. He's a 53% career completion passer.I thought he was a bum before the suspension. But hey, maybe Denver will sign him. *crossing my fingers*

I'm thinking that Vick will end up in Washington. Snyder loves the big, flashy signings, and it appears as though he and the rest of the front office would rather have anyone else other than Jason Campbell under center for the team this season, which is something that I just don't understand. Sure, he hasn't been the greatest QB they've ever had, but he's improved each year that he's been healthy, and certainly deserves the opportunity to have more than one season in the same offensive system before judgement is passed on him (I believe, at one point, he had gone through, including college, four different offensive systems in four years, as the Redskins had gone through several OCs there for a while).

Ouch!! Kick me when I'm down eh Tarl? LOL I forsee one and only one team that will be willing to take a chance with Vick... the place where QB's and receivers go to die.. the place of eternal blackness and mediocracy... the Oakland Raiders!! LOL JaMarcus Russell will prove to be a big time bust..Jeff Garcia will get injured again and Al Davis just LOVES players with troubled history..
I hope it's Oakland. I think it will be.Jamarcus Russel can teach Vick about work ethic, dedication...etc(he weighed 285 in the offseason).

Denver had a live scrimage at Invesco Field at Mile High in front of about 13,000 fans yesterday. How did it go you ask? Absolutely TERRIBLE!! Orton was booed and jeered after he had an awful day throwing about three Int's... Our punter Brett Kern had some awful punts and our kicker, Matt Prater missed TWO 43 yard field goal, all of which combined to make one very unhappy group of Broncos fans!! The boos rained down!! Ok I know it's only still training camp and we have pre-season to iron things out, but still I'm slightly concerned and will have my finger hovering over the panic button if things don't get better quickly!!

Tarl...I'll wait till week 3 to push the panic button.. our first two games are at the Bengals and home agains the Browns...things get tougher afterwards... If we suck against the Bengals and Browns, that will be a good indication for what kind of season the Broncos are in for..

The Lions managed to pull one off. I caught the end of it on the radio. Of course, they were the only team undefeated in the preseason last year, and look where that got them. I have no expectations this year.
I thought Stafford was impressive.

Hey, we did finish last season on a 3 game winning streak. I was there to witness the heavyweight fight between the Chiefs (2-12) and the Bengals (3-11). It was tough finding tickets on StubHub, but I eventually I dished out the big bucks ($15 a piece for 5 seats). We had a lot of pressure being the favorites and the 15,000 person crowd wasn't helping the nerves, but we pulled it out.If we suck against the Bengals

That's 10-6...probably optimistic, but at this point I'll even take an 8-8. Look out for Cedric Benson. I really think he could be a 1500 yard back this year.

To his credit, at least this came out of nowhere (sort of). I'd rather he do this than what he did last year.Brett Favre signs with the Vikings.
