Given the late date of Marty's dismissal, I can acccept Turner despite a weak track record as a head coach; the Raider job is a total dead end for any coach so I can't blame him totally for that situation. He did install the offense they run in SD and he is a good play caller and QB coach.I'm exactly not inspired as I would if they , say, talked Jimmy Johnson out of retirement but I love that we got Ron Rivera as LB coach. So, a little blah but I can't handle another Marty meltdown in the playoffs...the GM musta thought: Marty: 0-2 shame on you,but 0-3 shame on me, You're fired! .
I know you hate Marty, so anyone seems better than him. However, Norv Turner is not a better coach. It is very odd that his career record is 58-82 and he was still hired again.
Not to mention his teams have an average offensive rank of 14th.

I think Marty did make some very poor choices in the Pats game(The 4th and 11, the challenge) and going too predicatable against the Jets. I will not miss him. I hope not at least.

The father of San Diego Chargers running back LaDanian Tomlinson was killed in an accident Friday afternoon.
Oliver Tomlinson was killed after a one-car accident in rural McLennan County near the community of Asa.
LaDanian's brother, Ronald C. McClain, 48, later died at the hospital .

Nash collapsed and died after playing in a charity basketball game. He was 24. On Jan. 1, Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams was shot and killed after leaving a party.

on a slightly more upbeat note, ESPN.com is reporting that Denver is trading Tatum Bell, George Foster and a draft pick to the Detroit Lions for cornerback Dre Bly!! This is great in my opinion. This won't become official untill Friday I believe, but still it gives me a sense of optimism.

Yes, I like the idea of Dre being a Bronco. After the Rams and the Lions, I'll take him in a flash. While not quite the firecracker that is Champ Bailey, he will bring experience and confidence to our defense. Can't wait to see Jay Cutler start his road to gaining confidence, also.
P.S. I just caught on to your screen name. Well, I knew about the Bond connection. But Dove Valley just slapped me in the face.

MORE BREAKING NEWS developing out of Broncos land: It appears that the Broncos have a deal in place to send QB Jake Plummer to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in exchange for some draft picks.. www.9news.com has this story of this deal, which is not fully completed yet, but is close to be finalized! I think that Plummer could be good for the Bucs if Chris Simms has any setbacks and Bruce Gradkowsky falters...after all Tampa has done pretty well with former Broncos QB's, does the name Brian Griese ring a bell??! lol

It appears that Jake Plummer is now going to retire instead of accepting the trade to Tampa Bay!! Check out www.9news.com or www.espn.go.com for the story! So long Jake, and thank you! (I'm serious, he had some pretty good games for us, despite his inconsitancies).

Ah comon Jake, don't retire! You're only 32!
Besides, the Raiders and Chiefs might want you...
Congrats on a fine 10 year career and thanks for the memories(interceptions against SD).

Boy, the Niners are suddenly looking a lot better on defense.
I can't beleive they paid that much for Nate Clements. Yikes.

Yeah, I saw this while at work. With Plummer quit... uhm, retiring, and Bly moan... uhm, complaing, I'm really starting to feel sorry for these poor, neglected, underpaid athelets....and the bizzare off-season continues for my Denver Broncos. It appears now that that Cornerback Dre Bly, who we just got from the Detroit Lions, is very upset at being traded to Denver, as he wanted to be sent to Washington. Apparently the Redskins would have extended his contract but Denver will not.. Can anyone say hold out approaching? Here's a link to the story on ESPN.com
http://sports.espn.g...tory?id=2788121
And if I don't get my James Bond Channel on cable TV, I'm gonna..., I'm gonna ask to be traded to MI6, or I'll retire.
(Just being tongue-in-cheek here mods.)

Amazing trade by the Jets today. They get Thomas Jones and the Bears' second round pick in exchange for their own second round pick. So, basically they drop about 25 spots in the second round of the draft and pick up a franchise-quality running back in the process. Well done.
I have a feeling the Bears will be average next year. Great job NY Jets. I'm so happy they didn't pursue Michael Turner of SD.

Michael Turner is going to be a great back in the NFL in the near future, IMO, and a part of me still wishes that the Jets would pursue him anyway (would make a great tandem of running backs between him, Thomas Jones, and Leon Washington), but I doubt that that would be a realistic possibility now. Anyway, great job by the Jets' front office. Now, all that is needed is some defensive help and another receiver, and things are looking up.

Well they've had an absolutely terrible secondary since around 1998 with Tim McDonald, Merton Hanks, Darnell Walker, and Lee Woodall. Clements is a good corner and the Niners really need help on defense.

Yes, there certainly is alot of shuffling going on in the off-season. And we are still (just under) 2 months from the draft.
And I have my players ready!
Coming soon (in the next 2 weeks!): My top players per position, MY Draft, and my first real mock draft

I'm just wondering if Patrick Ramsey will be content as a back-up QB? I just hope this doesn't mess with Jay cutler's head, you know? I mean the kid is gonna have enough on his mind being the starter. As the Elway legacy still loom's......
I was actually very surprised that he went to Denver. The last I had heard was that he had narrowed his options down to Denver and Houston, and I would have thought that Ramsey would have had an excellent chance of winning the starting job in Houston or at least the chance to compete for it, neither of which will be possible for him in Denver with Jay Cutler already set as the starter.
