Still sticking to my prediction, Colts 28 Bears 14.

I'll do my game review on Monday, as well as who SHOULD have been MVP, and list my favorite commercials.

Next Wed-I will be posting my prospects for the draft, I hope to have it complete, but it may not be. I am posting my top 10, plus 5 sleepers at the skill positions, for other positions (except K and P), I will list the top 15.

Countdown to Kickoff-T minus 3 days! Countdown to hcmv007's football depression-immediately after the game.

I'm going with the Chicago Bears upsetting the Indianapolis Colts 38- 31 in Super Bowl XLI... The reason why I'm rooting for the Bears is because A. As a Broncos fan, I can't stand the Colts B. the mascot of my alma mater, University of Norther Colorado was.. Da Bears!! lol.. and C. I would love to see a 2006 version of the Super Bowl Shuffle!!!

Oh and if you are a Green Bay Packers fan, nfl.com and espn.go.com have the story up on their pages that Brett Favre will indeed return for a 17th season!! Why not! I say, they actually got on a roll at the end of last season, so they may have some momentum going into this season...8-8 way better than anyone thought they'd be at the beginning of the year!!

I think Manning will keep his head on straight (unless a certain Bear linebacker twists it off!) and lead his team to a 27-21 victory.

It sure has. Whichever one was the Steelers first win was against the Minnesota Vikings in rain in New Orleans. It was supposed to be played in the Superdome, but it wasn't finished on time!

That was a really bad Super Bowl. Just incredibly sloppy.

Still, congrats to Tony Dungy and the Colts. :cooltongue:

Agreed. Terrible Super Bowl. Usually the game carries a great deal of excitement with it, but the whole thing was bad, from all the festivities surrounding it to the actual game itself. And I still come away from the game feeling that way even though, for only the second time ever, the team that I wanted to win the game actually ended up winning it.

My prediction

Colts 28
Bears 14

Actual score:

Colts 29
Bears 17

Only 4 points off the actual score!

Congrats to Tony Dungy-a GREAT man and coach leads his team to victory-isn't that what matters?

The game-bad. Maybe it was the weather, but I think the NFL would like to see this game played indoors in the future. Congrats to the Colts, and finally a Manning QB'd team can say they have won a championship. To me, the real MVP should have been Dominic Rhodes. Anyone who rushes over 100 yds for the winning team should be the MVP. Co-MVP's maybe, with Manning who played well. IMO-the Bears did not blitz enough, and played soft on Defense, and Grossman played like i thought he would-poorly, come on, he was due to choke!

The commericals-not too memorable now were they?

Still not as bad as the Dolphins' Super Bowl XVII QB David Woodley. (4-14 97 yds, 1 td 1 int)

Doesn't quite count because he didn't play a full game to get a chance to redeem himself; Don Strock was brought in the the rest of that game to no avail...

Shula had the sense to pull Woodly; I have no idea what Lovie was thinking with GROSS-Man...

Should have pulled him after the bears failed to get a TD when they had the good field position (after the kick return and the 15 yd penalty) it was apparent to everyone (except maybe the Bears) that Grossman was not going to win the game for them.

Actually I thought they had some of the best commercials this year, hcmv.. In particular the Bud Light ones were hillarious, and I loved the Snickers one with the guys working on the car!!.. Taco Bell was also great with the talking lions..

As for the game, Congrats to Dungy, Manning and the Indianapolis Colts for winning!! While I was rooting for the Bears, It was nice to see the Colts get the ultimate prize!! As for Da Bears... what a disappointment!! Bad Rex showed up... He was awful!!! They should have yanked in in favor of Brian Griese!! The defense was also very vanilla, which is surprising to me because if you're going up against Manning, you think they would try and mix things up a little!! Bad coaching, bad Quarterback.. is it really any wonder why Chicago lost?

Loved Prince at the half time show, particually "Purple Rain"... I think he was MILES better than the Rolling Stones last year!!
