Man, i still am shocked by the score of last night's game: Jags 9 Steelers 0??!! :) I knew that Jacksonville had a great defense, but I mean DAMN!! The Steelers looked awful!! :P

Ahh in other news Tarl's Chargers are close to bringing in Billy Volek to back up Phillip Rivers.. and my Broncos have signed former Steeler and Brown, Quincy Morgan to help out on special teams returns.

Da Bears are 3-0! Great win in Minn.

Broncos are impressive(SD is still in 1st place :) )...Pats are OVER! You gotta pay your players! They are a $.99 store team right now. :P

I cannot believe I forgot to pick GB and Indy to win like I was supposed to. Cost me being in 1st place over all. Crap.

Chris Simms suffered a ruptured spleen last night. He is going to be out for the season, but should recover.

Ahhh the sweet taste of victory!! Denver embarassed the New England Patriots last night, 17-7 (though my relatives in Massachusettes were probably none too happy!! lol) Nice way to go into our bye week at 2-1. Plummer looked great last night, hooking up with Javon Walker for two long touchdowns!! :) After our bye next week, we have Monday night game at home when Baltimore comes to town!!

my thoughts and well wishes go out to Chris Simms and his whole family.. What a scary situation having a ruptured spleen! :) All the best to him for a speedy recovery..

Well, after last nights pathetic excuse for a Pats game, I think its a safe bet they won't be a contender this year. That was just aweful. :)

Kudos to the New Orleans Saints knocking off the Falcons 23-3 last night!! I didn't see the entire game but got home in time fourth quarter. Loved U2 and Green Day's performance before the game as well.. They sounded great..

On a side note, I've been thinking about how well the NFL is represented by its fans here at CBN.. we have fans of the Patriots, Broncos, Bills, Chargers, Saints, Eagles, Bengals, Steelers, Browns, Ravens (yes the whole AFC North is represented), and I think we have a Cowboys fan somewhere.. I'm sure I might be missing some other teams as well.. :)

I've noticed the same thing Dove. I like the variety...it makes for better quality. My guess is that its a regional thing...the closest NFL team to my town is Cincinnati, so I guess thats why I started liking them as a kid. Also, Tennessee is my distant 2nd fav (also close to me in Nashville).

Exception to the rule for me is the Colts...don't like them...sure they're kinda close...but maybe its because Peyton went to a rival SEC university. Hmm :)

Champ: New Orleans Saints. Unlike LSU last year, the Saints did not choke in their first game back after Katrina. Atlanta got DOMINATED. From Reggie Bush being completely unselfish and being willing to be used as a decoy, to Scott Fujita, Will Smith and Bryan Young harassing Mike Vick all night long, the Saints stepped up as a real team. Also a shout out to the fans-it sounded like Tiger Stadium in the Dome.

Chump: Houston Texans. A winnable game turns into a nightmare. Mario Williams seems like a bust now.

As soon as I saw the Saints break out the white jersey's I told my grandmother we were going to kick some Falcon butt. Oh, and I had fried chicken to watch the game too. :) . I just called it fried Falcon!

Player of the week-Saints Defense. held Atlanta to 117 yds rushing, and was sticking Vick all night long, proving me right that he cannot beat you if you force him to throw the football.

BREAKING NEWS!!!!

According to Dallas Police, Cowboys WR Terrell Owens attempted suicide by overdosing on pain medication. Owens was found by a friend, and after his friend pleaded with him to stop, Owens took 2 more pills and lapsed in and out of conciousness. Paramedics arrived at his home and when asked if he was trying to harm himself, Owens reportedly said yes. Owens had told some friends he had been suffering depression.

I for one have never been a fan of his antics, but I hate to see anyone have to go through this. I hope he gets better and gets the help he obviously needs.

T.O. is of course denying that he was attempting suicide. He says it was a bad reaction to a wrong combination of his pain killers along with some of the supplements that he takes.. Now I don't know who to believe!! :) Could the Dallas Police report be phony??

Man its been a crazy news day here.. Not only the whole T.O. scandal, but the hostage situation at the high school here in Colorado!!! :P

Yeah, a bit premature on my previous post-but more than one outlet had that reported so I apologize for posting that, but my last paragraph was sincere, and it is clear TO needs help of some kind and i hope he gets it.

Now my picks are in!

I wish TO the best. He gets arguably the worst press in the history of all pro athletes and the media is so biased against him. He is a superstar athlete and he likes money in large amounts...not exactly a combination you don't hear every day.

TO will continue to hear a lot of crap from the media and fans until the day he retires, but heres one fan hoping that he quiets all the critics at least for this season. :)

Phew! Baltimore pulled out a victory against the San Diego Chargers!! Yes!! (sorry Tarl! :) )

Albert Haynesworth of the Titans,, WTF was he thinking??!! :P Kicking the Dallas player in the face with his spiked shoes!!! If it was up to me, i would at the very least, suspend him for 6 games AND in addition fine him $50,000...

Yeah, I'm very impressed with Rex Grossman and the Bears.. The Seahawks got totally outplayed, and outcoached (to borrow a term from Giants TE Jeremy Shockey!!) lol.. :P

Well it looks like Arizona has had enough of Kurt Warner's fumbles and interceptions and Matt Lienart will finaly start next week against KC. and the woefull Titans finally decided to give the reigns to Vince Young.. what else can they do?? Kerry Collins ain't gettin it done for them.. :)
