I do think Brees is a good QB and this is a good move by the Saints, don't get me wrong.

I think that's a fair sum for him; he's still not quite the highest paid guy but teams always have to over pay a little to attract players from other teams and it is New Orleans.

"Personally, I do not think Brees is worth the 60 mill the Saints are paying him over 6 years"
I think that's a fair sum for him; he's still not quite the highest paid guy but teams always have to over pay a little to attract players from other teams and it is New Orleans.
Which means he'll never play a game!
Even a not quite healthy Brees is a LOT better than a healthy Aaron Brooks.

lol... I'll have to get used to a new Bond (which I've pretty much already have), a new offensive coordinator, and a very real chance of having a problematic receiver, T.O. joining the Broncos!! (that is NOT as easy to swallow!!)
Yeah, T.O. is a pain but in 2004 he did score 14 TDS in a shortened season...there is upside to be had with him as well.
Hey Dove, it looks like Vince Young could end up in Oakland.

And I won't start panicking yet as far as T.O. goes.. The Chiefs, Cowboys, and Dolphins are also interested in Terrell Owens. If he ends up going to the Cowboys, maybe Denver should go after Keyshawn Johnson (whom was just cut by Dallas).

Young could end up in Oakland, IF the Saints choose not to take Leinert, but the Titans-well Jeff Fisher-may take Young OVER Leinert, leaving Leinert available for the Raiders, if the Jets don't take him first.

TO is a Cowboy; Ramsey is a Jet, for a late round pick; Packers are courting Vinateri, and signed Ryan Pickett over the weekend.
Very interesting, don't ya'll think?

I think T.O. will help the Cowboys. They have a decent RB, a veteren QB and a defense in progress...and Bill Parcels.

Everybody heard the latest? Commissioner Paul Tagliabue to step down.
Yeah I'm not totaly surprised by his announcement of resignation.. After being in a veritable hell for two weeks, trying to get that deal done with NFL owners and the Players union on the new CBA, that would be considered the crowning achievement of his tenure as NFL Commissioner...No wonder he needs a break!!
I would be more than happy to step in . I'm just waiting for them to call...

Adam Vinatieri ( the long time Patriot's kicker) has signed with the Colts and its quite possible that former Colts kicker, Mike Vanderjact (the liquored up, idiot kicker!!) could very well become a Patriot, although they are looking at Paul Edinger at the moment.
Also, former Broncos, Dolphins, and Buccaneers QB Brian Griese signed a five year deal with the Chicago Bears to back up Rex Grossman. With how easily Grossman gets injured, Griese is a good back up plan for them. Kyle Orton, still isn't quite there yet.

Lots of interesting changes so far in free agency, especially in the AFC West eh Tarl?!
Lets see:
Kansas City: New coach in Herm Edwards.. might actually work out okay for them.
Denver: Lost Gary Kubiak to the Houston Texans, replaced with a former Bronco coach, Mike Himerdinger.. Lost Trevor Price and Mike Anderson to Baltimore, and Jeb Putzier to the Texans.. We are currently vying for Eric Moulds' services as another veteran wide receiver( as well as 8 other teams!), and he is very interested in the Broncos.
San Diego: Lost Drew Brees to New Orleans.. Could Philip Rivers be the next great Phil at QB, after Phil Simms??
And of course, the Raiders: Art Shell returns to coach, after no one else was attracted to the job offer! Can he recapture his coaching magic after being away for so long? or will he find out just like Joe Gibbs in Washington that its not as easy as it might seem? And after failing to land Daunte Culpepper, they sign Aaron Brooks.. I have my doubts about how good this team will be next year.

Oakland is going to the Super Bowl. Why? B/c former Saint Aaron Brooks is their QB. And he was SOOO AWESOME as the Saints QB! He'll do wonders for Oakland!
Keyshawn Johnson is a Panther. Confirms my thoughts already for them in the draft.
Eric Moulds is the hottest player on the market, as the disgriuntled former Bill WR tests the trade market. Bills are idiots if they don't get a 1st rd pick for this guy.

It looks like Eric Moulds is a Texan. Qwerty, I hate to say it, but I do not have much faith in the Bills for next year. Hopefully they will prove me wrong.
Just 26 days to the draft!

Now we need to pick up some offensive line help in the draft. OSU center Nick Mangold is one possiblity to replace aging and oft-injured center Rich Braham among others. I'm already getting excited about the new season.

Charges against Daunte Culpepper dropped in the Love Boat Scandal. Wished I could have been there !
My next Mock Draft will be the week of the Draft. Free Agency has thrown me a few curves. I hope to do a complete SECOND Round as well. I expect a lot of draft day trades, as I doubt anything will happen now until the draft regarding trades.

The Bengals picked up a run stopper in free agent Sam Adams, just the area they needed to improve on.

He's a good player. I know the Cardinals have him pretty high on their draft list. Lets face it, they need to assemble an offensive line pronto. It's not something they can allow to slowly "develope."
