I wasn't that impressed with the Halftime show really. Nothing really outstanding about it, in my opinion.
well it wasnt as good as sir paul last year, but its the stones, so theres no complaining there.

Oh, it's okay. On behalf of all Steelers fans all over the world, I forgive you. And when I say "all Steelers fans all over the world," I'm not exaggerating!Ok I admit I was wrong. I was goin for Seattle. But Pittsburgh played a great game. Congrats to Gabe. And all the Steeler fans.

Damn, off by a point. Looks like I need to take my crystal ball in for a tune-up. Congrats Steelers!I have a feeling it will be Pittsburgh by 10, especially if Holmgren offers them a concessionary touchdown a-la Packers vs. Broncos.

* standing ovation for Gabe and his Steelers!* Congrats Gabe to you and your Steelers for winning!! It was a pretty good game... Seattle had plenty of chances to give themselves a shot, but too many costly penalties and absolutly horrendous time-management at both the end of the first half and end of the game (what the hell was that about? ) lost them the game. Congrats to Cowher to finally getting his Super Bowl victory, and to a very classy individual like The Bus, Jerome Bettis.. Nice to see that he is indeed calling it a career and going out on top, like John Elway did after Super Bowl XXXIII

That's probably true, but hey, a win's a win.Yeah, as one sprts writer said- Pittsburg paid the ref's in cash, Seattle paid by check- so guess who won?

Seattle didn't make the big plays and Pittsburgh did. If you are Seattle or any team for that matter--you have to play well enough NOT to have to depend on the refs. Like Pittsburgh defeating Indy despite the bad call taking away Troy P's interception. No excuses, you have to take command of the game so ref decisions become irrelevent.

My Heroes.
Actually Tarl-- since Montana and Bradshaw deny it was about money and say it's family obligations...So therefore at this point we don't know for sure and i'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now.

COngrats to the Steelers, I predicted 21-17 at work, and was teh closest to the score there. Montana and Bradshaw should have been there, no, the refs did not lose the game for Seattle. Holmgren's PPCM at the end of each half, Big Mouth dropping passes, stupid penalties, etc did Seattle in. Quit crying, you lost, plain and simple.
Best commercials-Monkey and office, dinosaur, magic fridge, theft deterrent, baby clydsedale.

By the way I liked the dinosaur commercial and the McGuyver one.

I'm glad my favorite QB made the trip ...that QB being John Elway.

Wow! I'm surprised that a Charger fan's favorite QB was John Elway, Tarl!!lol What about Dan Fouts?? lol
In other news, ESPN has announced the new brodcast team for when Monday Night Football starts there next season: Mike Tirico, Joe Theismann and Tony Kornheiser from Pardon The Interruption will be the team.. see the link to the story I posted above. Sadly, Al Michaels, who has done the ABC MNF games since 1986 will NOT be back.. He was one of my favorite broadcasters.. As for the Sunday Night Games on NBC, all John Madden and Chris Collinsworth will call the games.
I'm not too sure how I feel about the new MNF line up.. Mike Tirico is great, and I am probably one of the few fans who actually like Thiesmann's obnoxiousness (especailly when he argued with Paul McGuire), but to have him go up with another obnoxious guy like Kornheiser...I don't know how that will work!!lol As for Al Michaels, I guess its good that he'll retire, staying synonomous with the classic ABC MNF games..
How do you other NFL fans feel about this, or do you just not care?

Well Dove--Al Michaels got out of his new contract with ESPN so that he can now join John Madden on Sunday night. He had a last minute change of heart.
I like the new ESPN crew--I too enjoyed Theisman though he can talk too much and get windy. You need someone to get at him at times and Kornheiser has the personality to do that. They may create some humor and sparks. Kornheiser could give some of the eccentric larger than life flair that Cosell gave on Monday nights.
I also think Tirico is excellent. I think it will work out well. And those who love Madden and Michaels--tune in Sunday night.

I love the Foutsmiester but ya gotta give credit where credit is due. Elway is the best ever, inmo. And we coulda had him in '83 when we had 3 # 1 pics to give Baltimore.
And Al Michaels...Michaels is expected to attempt to break his contract with ESPN, reportedly an eight-year, $32 million deal, to join Madden on NBC's Sunday night NFL telecasts, which debut in September. And ESPN officials apparently are going to let him out of the contract...
