I'm a definite fan, but I never seem to be able to catch it when it actually airs on TV (couldn't even tell you what it's regular night is without looking it up online).

Looks like the third season kicks off at the end of this month.

I've just found a date of January 25. I'm excited, but concerned because Time Warner Cable may be dropping several channels, including FX and Channel 2(!). There will go 24, The Good Wife, Damages and Lord knows what else. I can't get Dish Network where I live--otherwise, I'm sure they'll be offering some groovy Come Over to Us specials. Drat.

Had to finally complete a couple trilogies by getting THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM and OCEAN'S TWELVE. It's amazing how cheap movies can be when there's only a barebones edition of them.

Recently District 9 (which I was most impressed with) and I had Hurt Locker turn up yesterday from Amazon, really looking forward to this as I've heard raves about it from most people.

Pre-ordered Zombieland & Serious Man (seriously looking forward to another slice of quality Coen Brothers)

Goldfinger (Blu-Ray)
The Pink Panther (Blu-Ray)

I can't wait to get Goldfinger on Blu-Ray since it will be my first Bond Blu-Ray even though I own quite a few in HD from iTunes plus I got the pink panther for only $9.49 off Amazon!

That sucks. However, its due to there negotiations with Fox for a new contract for Time Warner to be able to carry the Fox networks. The problem is that many of the networks like Fox, CBS, NBC, and ABC have been recently been asking for fees to carry their local stations, I think its around $2-$3 per customer I believe, which before they did not. The cable companies don't like this since these stations are free of charge over the air so when they do make an agreement typically the cable rates have to increase. The cable companies hold out like this because they don't want to increase the rates so really I would blame Fox for wanting more and more money. Still I am confident it's just Time Warner bluffing to get leverage in the negotiations.

They're selling a QOS/FYEO double pack at Sam's Club. It's less than $20 for the package, so the price is right and I'll probably pick it up tonight.

But why FYEO?

Why not SPY?

Or MR? Or OHMSS? Or DN? Or FRWL? Or GF? Or TB? Or LALD? Or CR? Or TLD? Or even OP?

WHY?

I bought the original Cape Fear on DVD. It was a slim case but god, I could not resist that perty artwork. It's one of the best physcho dramas ever written. Robert Micthcum as Max Cady was not just a vengeful ex-con, he was a predator who knew how to manipulate the law. That finale at Cape Fear is just one of the best in film history; Max just became more animal then human at the point.

This is obviously the Limited Edition Useless Henchmen Box Set, in which we get not only the inept buffoonery of Elvis, but also the furry-hat wearing, non-speaking, non-threatening Locque.

I'm pretty sure that was resolved on Jan 1st, they were threatening to pull the plug at midnight on New Year's eve but it seems they came to an arrangement.

Anyway, umm, Martin Short as a high-powered attorney? Well, never let it be said that Damages goes for obvious casting.

I can't wait for the cartoon edition of Spy and Moonraker. It contains the deleted scene of Jaws chasing Bond in Acme Rollerskates.

Actually, now that you mention it, I think FYEO's parrot is a better equivalent for Elvis; Harmless. Colorful. Gives away key plot devices.

Just found a barebones DVD of CHINATOWN at a used bookstore today, and it was high time it became a part of my collection. The disc itself was in immaculate shape, so features or not, I had to grab it.

Not the last but my Wife got me Life On Mars series 1 & 2 Blu rays for Christmas and I just started watching them this weekend.

Apart from the fact they look superb better than ever, it just struck me again watching them the first time since the original broadcast, what a superb series. definitely candidate for the best British TV series of the decade, we normally fall short of the U.S standard but LOM showed we can pull it out the bag when we want.

I have no interset in viewing the U.S version, Keitel is a legend but there will only be one Gene Genie and Mr White ain't it.

Both Simms and Glennister are pitch perfect and the ensemble of supporting cast are great as well, both series were just right, infact 2nd season upped the quality factor. I enjoy Ashes to Ashes and look forward to it's conclusion this spring but it will never hit quality that LOM did, unless of course ATA series 3 really hits it out the park.

Incidently the makers have said by the half way mark Ashes series 3 will feel like LOM series 5, LOM is going to bleed into Ashes and characters from that series will re-appear.
