But don't you want to know how come Bond doesn't kill Sanchez when he has the chance? Or how come he just talks and talks, turning the villains against each other??

Ok I admit that may have been out of line, back on topic, i like them both equally but LTK inches ahead!

I dont need to know why because there was a logic explanation unlike goldfinger. License to Kill was really entertaining and its the only bond film that shows how bond really behaves with a villain.

My favorite Dalton: TLD. Fast-paced, fun, with Tim displaying charme and at some points even light-heartedness that would have suited him in LTK.

Both are great films. I'd have to go for TLD by a nose. Hard to pick, both were a breath of fresh air after the latter stages of the Moore era. It's too bad Dalton didn't get a chance to do more Bond films.

The Living Daylights is definitely the best Dalton films, and IMO one of the top Bond films overall. The story, the locales, and the girl are better than LTK.

Anybody else ever notice that Dalton's hair looks weird in LTK? Especially in the casino scenes.

The Living Daylights by far! One of the very best Bond films, even with them sledding on the cello case! It is one of the ones I watch the most lately, when I want to Bond out. Timothy Dalton was a wonderful James Bond. I always wished Dalton could have made a couple more Bond films. :D

I sure did notice it. Funny as it sounds, it detracted from the film for me. Kinda creepy, it looked like his hair was done by one of the Star Trek: TNG hairdressers!

I loved Dalton in LTK. Unfortunately, it wasn't exactly the best of plots in my opinion. However, TLD had a great plot (all of the ones based of books do, tho' TLD wasn't really based off of the book at all), but I just don't think Dalton was 'at is best' in that film.

TLD by a long way! sorry, but i cant stand LTK!~

but in my overall bond score, i think TLD is up in the top 5 out of 22!

music was great! car was great! girl was ok (exotic-russian), and i really acutally liked dalton, oh and in my eyes one of the best lines in the series (still have to decide on that one properly)

"better make that two" thats a line i want to pull when a chick asks me to stay for 'more' hahahaha

LTK never really felt like a Bond film to me, it had some great moments but something always felt a little off.

I have to whole heartedly agree. One or two scenes from prefection. (Thank God, they cut out the flying carpet scene!)

A defining moment in LTK: when Bond's amazing seaplane/speargun escape is described-WITHOUT any hyperbole or exxageration- to Sanchez, he simply refuses to believe it...and we, the audience who WATCHED it, finally realise JUST HOW NUTS YOUR AVERAGE JAMES BOND ACTION SEQUENCE REALLY IS.(of course, the sequence ITSELF is totally convincing- that's what makes it funny.)

This is a tough one; so many Dalton movies to choose. LICENSE TO KILL(Del Toro was in it(You'll have to excuse me, I'm a spic.) The Living Daylights....Arrgh....I'd rather watch a pørno with Roger Moore and Grace Jones, and have it directed by Christopher Walken. Wouldn't that be "A View To A Kill"?

In my opinion, TLD and LTK are both great Bond films. However, they are completely different from one another. TLD is a fun Bond film, following the formula of others in the past, its fun, and its an all-around good movie. LTK is a darker Bond, a story that breaks away from the films and puts the original Fleming Bond on screen.

Personally, I liked TLD more. It wasn't a perfect Bond movie, but it was fun one. LTK to me, just didn't really seem like a Bond film. But, I'm not saying that it was bad (I actually enjoyed LTK a lot more than others), I'm just saying I liked TLD more.

Which do you like more and why?

I, like you, think both films are great. My favorite is LTK. I actually think it follows Flemings literary Bond more closely than most movies, starting & ending with the Bond/Leiter relationship. Felix's mulilation is right out of LALD (the book). Although Fleming never wrote of Leiter being married, the murder of Della gave some of us purests, the satisfaction of seeing Bond do some avenging that would have been nice immediately after OHMSS.

I like everything about this movie: the villian (Sanchez is one of the BEST screen villians), the scenes with M & Q, the ending (love that Sanchez gets it with the lighter from Leiter), and the savvy relationship between 007 and Pam. Far cry from the ever crying/screaming Stacy Sutton!

TLD is great, as well, but LTK plays on some old established relationships (M, Q, Leiter) that I always enjoy watching.

I prefer Licence to Kill, and can never get bored with it. In fact it's one of the only Bond's that never gets too familiar however many times you watch it.

At first, before watching the Bond films through, I didn't think I'd like Dalton as Bond. Boy was I wrong. He turned out to be one of my favorites, perhaps just after Connery, and I really like both of his films.

I would liked to have seen him in at least a couple more Bond films.

If I have to pick between the two films, I would go with TLD (great action - and I enjoyed the chase in the Aston Martin and the cello case a great deal, Dalton did a great job on his first outing), but I still like LTK quite a lot.

Regards

LTK for me. It's just more satisfyingly brutal and well written.
