Licence To Kill had some really great moments, but The Living Daylights was better overall. And it has my fave Bond Girl in it.

Not that there's a lot to choose from, but I'm surprised this wasn't a thread before considering there are ones for Connery and Moore.

I chose TLD even though I love both it and LTK. Although I like the villains and leading lady in LTK better, TLD is better rounded. Seeing that film in the cinema in 1987 felt like a rejuvenating experience for the series.

The Living Daylights is definitely superior in my eyes, but Licence To Kill is a very fine, entertaining film.

License to Kill. It's the most real film in the series. You can say TLD could have been real too but at the time LTK just fit in with the global scene. It's quite possibly the most recent Fleming'esque to date so far.

I love this movie because of it's nonstop sense of drama, suspense, and hint of danger at every turn. Everytime I watch it I'm at the edge of my seat just as excited by the movie since the first time I saw it.

I love the entire tanker part, it just looks like so much fun. The ruination of the coccaine on the sentinel, The opening scene, and of course: Professor Joe's constant "Bless your heart"

All in all this is one of the fun BOnds one can really watch more than once and notice more with each vewing.

License to Kill wins out just barely thanks to the superior batch of villains. Robert Davi is just perfect as Sanchez.

I would probably say the Living Daylights. Though it does run a little long it seems.

I love License to Kill because it is not a "mission." It is just something Bond falls into. That being said, the production quality and advertising was, well, sub par. That and I hate the 18 wheeler wheelie!

I voted for Licence to Kill. While I LOVE The Living Daylights (it goes from Cold War/defector thriller to epic adventure in the space of two hours), Licence to Kill feels like the better film to me. A dark and uncompromising film from beginning to end, it was what the series needed at that point and it gave the Dalton the chance to do something in the space of his second film that Moore didn't do until his third and that was to put his own mark on the role. The film is a masterpiece if you ask me.

The Living Daylights, for me. Mainly due to John Barry, the locations, cold war defector plot, Necros, and Bond's believable relationship with Kara. Dalton is on target, and looks better as well.
LTK has Sanchez, Benicio Del Toro and, of course David Hedison returning as Leiter. So it's a close draw.

Although Licence To Kill does feature a stronger villain and a better Felix Leiter, I vote for The Living Daylights, the best James Bond film of the last 35 years.

I chose the Living Daylights; it is a classic James Bond and spy genre film complete with a perfect John Barry score and restores Bond's credibility as a serious character(but not to be taken too seriously). I love that film b/c it re-invigorated the series and my appreciation for James Bond. I think LTK is a great follow up and I like that it's different...but it's my second choice although the action is much better/plentyful. I'm still pissed there wasn't a third/fourth Dalton film.

That may be a very real possibility. For me the only competition is Pierce smashing through the wall in the tank in GE.

Totally agree. This is a great and underrated Bond sequence and stunt. It shows Bond's resourcefulness and his ability to get out of a dangerous situation without necessarily relying on Q's gadgets and one of the reasons these movies can be great fun.

Anybody else notice they never include this one with some of the great Bond stunts like the skiing off the cliff or the GE bungee jump?

The Living Daylights is definitely the best Dalton films, and IMO one of the top Bond films overall. The story, the locales, and the girl are better than LTK.

Anybody else ever notice that Dalton's hair looks weird in LTK? Especially in the casino scenes.
