Any respect I had for Eon and the Broccoli's has long gone. It would appear they really couldn't give a damn. They remain silent and love all the press attention.

I fail to see why your "respect" for Eon should be derived solely from them telling you what they're trying to accomplish right now.

If they're having problems sorting something out and they tell you they've "sort of got Bana in their signing room" and then it goes tits up, I guarantee you, you will be whining about them giving you too many conflicting stories and "just why can't they wait until they have something confirmed and report that and that alone."

Maybe your "respect" could be based on their final output, ie the film!

And just maybe the loss of your $7 just isn't worth that much to them.

And maybe they just know that if you post 2500 posts on their next film, they kinda know they have you in the bag and you're the last person they should worry about marketing the film to................hmm?

I wouldn't say it's the most 'correct' news station in the world

I trust Fox more than I trust the Carver Media Group News :) . But I'm not too thrilled with Bana. As I posted in the AICN thread. Saw him in the Hulk and thought the film and Bana were awful. But if he commits to being James Bond instead of seeking a "serious acting career" for the next ten years or 4 to 5 films, then its not such a bad thing. I would have preferred Julian McMahon or Hugh Jackman, though I believe Jackman's price is going up as we speak. The guy's got a great career going, with his movies and stage work. Bana so far has been in a couple of films. I was hoping for a relatively unknown actor who wouldn't overshadow the character of James Bond. It worked in the past with Connery, Dalton and Brosnan. Moore was probably the most famous at the time he traded in his Saint halo for a Double-0 rating. Then again Fox said the news was "out of England" and not from MGM or EOn. So they could be signing Pierce or even Tim Dalton back for another one for all we know.

Last week Bloom, this week Bana. :)

From AICN...to a wacky "News of the World" story (which also said Bond 21 is The Man With The Red Tattoo)...to Fox News. This is out of control. Google News is awash with this story. I expect we'll hear something from, if not Eon, then maybe Bana's people -- unless it's true.

Unlikely that it's true. But Bana would be as good a choice as any of the names being thrown about right now.

Last week Bloom, this week Bana. :)

From AICN...to a wacky "News of the World" story

Non-UK CBners may be unaware of this, but the News of the World is a total and utter joke in Britain in terms of reliability. There's almost a saying: "If it's in the News of the World, you know it can't be true." It's viewed as the sloppiest, the most reprehensible, the most fact-free, low-grade, semi-pørnographic tabloid rag that's out there. It trades on filling its pages with as many T&A photos (celebrities and non-celebrities) and sex stories as possible, which is fine in a free society, but the problem is that it masquerades as a newspaper. Ever since I was a small child (I'm 29 now), I've heard the News of the World (also known as the Screws of the World, News of the Screws, etc.) rubbished for its total and utter lack of anything remotely resembling journalism or integrity - in fact, rubbishing the paper is practically a national pastime!

Oops. I hope no one on CBn works for the News of the World. :)

If the Sunday Sport ran a BOND 21 rumour, it would probably go along the lines of:

Sir Sean Connery has spent the past 18 months in a top secret plastic surgery clinic on the moon, and has had 40 years taken off his age so that he can play James Bond in the forthcoming 21st film. In addition to surgery and rejuvenating walks on the moon, Sir Sean has been following a special de-ageing diet that consists entirely of Werthers Originals and raw potatoes ground into a fine powder. Friends of the star swear that if you saw him you'd put his age at around 35.

Bana is pretty much an unknown to American audiences.

Plus, I believe that it's unfair to judge his acting ability solely on his portrayal of Bruce Banner in The Hulk.

I seem to remember that I like him as one of the Delta Force operators in Black Hawk Down.

I don't want to believe, but this news is circulating a lot around the world... Bana could be the next Bond!

Personally, I'll give him a chance, at first, when Dalton was announced as 007, I didn't like him (I wanted Pierce as Bond), but when I saw TLD I was very impressed by his cool and gritty portrayal of Bond...
Although I never though of Bana as Bond, and I found his acting in Hulk quite boring and wooden, I can't judge him by just one film, like I said in another post, maybe Babs and Mike G know or see something we don't!

And let's not forget the one time Robbie Williams said something remotely funny, "My Mum always told me of you've got nothing nice to say tell The News of the World". [Or something to that effect] :)

As far as Bana is concerned, No, No, No.

Say it with me, Clive ... Owen.

The Orlando Bloom rumor was so fake you would have to mentally retarded to believe it. Miramax doesn't own any Bond film rights therefore making that rumor 100% BS. This Bana rumor could be true because the facts behind it do not hurt it.

A definitive no on Bana for Bond. And I am one of those who think a dozen or two actors today can handle Bond well--but Bana is not among them. He's a good actor but just plain miscast to be the cool, sophisticated Bond.

I seem to remember that I like him as one of the Delta Force operators in Black Hawk Down.

He was playing a dorky scientist in The Hulk and his ability as an actor made me forget he was a the bad*** from BHD.

He owns BHD and if you watch the DVD extras when he interviews he just screams James Bond. I would support his hiring, absolutely. :) :) :)

Heath Ledger???? He's like 24 or 25 and looks nothing like 007!! :) :)
