Chile Salmon Farmers Hit By Sudden One-Eye Plague

PUERTO CHACABUCO, Chile (Reuters) - A fast spreading disease has stricken the stock of Chile's salmon farmers. The disease, which is yet to be identified, infects the left eye of salmon and eventually causing the eye to fall out. Authorites are baffled, but scrambling to to find the cause of the disease.

Many of the farmer believe that Norwegian sabotears have introduced this disease to their fish. Chile, the World's second largest exportor of farmed salmon, was poised to overtake Norway for the number one spot. Norwegian production of salmon grew threefold in the last 10 years, but Chile's jumped nearly 20 times to 35 percent of the world total, compared with Norway's 37 percent share.

Other farmers are claming that "El Gatodestructo", a giant, white, one-eyed, devil cat, is destroying their stock. "I saw the beast with my own eyes," Miguel Teripe said. "It was two-metres tall and had flames sourounding its one evil red eye." Sitings of El Gatodestucto have been reported by salmon farmers as recently as last night.

Joyce....before we go, I want to do one thing...lets look at all the co-ordinates for Chile, Prince William Sound, and the Indian Ocean.

And while we are at it, someone get a sample of that virus that hit the fish and see if it appears in some form in the old DNA sample we found. We keep letting that clue go, and we shouldn't.

Unfortunately, Xenobia's alter ego, Barbara K Emanuele, is going to have a busy day at work, so you will be flying solo for a while Joyce.
