Yes, perhaps your right.

But, REALLY!

WOW, this thread has certainly gone into a many twisted dimension. I think it GREAT!

But, we need to get back to some more agent fun-oriented banter.

Hey, 003, tell us story. Do you remember the time that Kingsly was trying to get away in the speed boat and had his skull creased by a 9mm round....or the time we were trying to gain access to an airborne 747 via a modified SR-71....or how about the time....

What???

Right.

Okay.

I...uh....gotta go......I gotta thing.

Back shortly...

(WHAT! I didn't say anything....oww, sh**....hey, ask 006)

BANG

There, that's better.

I tried to repress that SR-71/Concorde highjacking incident....

Soooooo......

We get THE call....004 and I report in (breath spray, visine, ties tied - one slap fight in the lift - 004 wanted to push the button and I didn't let him - Nyah!:))

We report to the situations room and find 006 and 009 (not you Glor - The chap who ended up...er..vacating...your number) standing by.

Four Double-O's????

Something is not right in the world of MI6...Or at least what we're responsible for.

Tanner is all business. BA-SST1 (Concorde) has been grabbed by a team with two members of Parliament and the home secretary.

How do you affect the resolution of said situation at 50K feet and at twice the speed of sound?

Q.....with the help of slightly modified USAF SR-71 Blackbird.

The plan: The SR-71 will catch up in flight and come in under the Concorde's blind side. The team (us four) will climb out a hatch in pressure suits and hook on to the other aircraft, access the luggage hatch, and gain entry. Take out the baddies and assume control of the SST.

Easy right?

004: "Real easy.........I'm not going."

A frosty glare from M shuts him up.

We end up, the four of us "humble servants of the crown" clinging to the top of the Blackbird with the belly of the Concorde some few feet above us.

We (thanks to Q's lovely little electro magnet harnesses) manage to hook on. The blackbird peels off and leaves 4 figures dangling like sucker fishes on the Concorde. Now the hatch. We reel out some line and begin moving for the hatch. 009 starts pressurizing the cargo bay so we can pop the hatch, get in and not alert anyone to our arrival.

At just under mach 2, dangling from a line, the wind can get a bit.....rough.

Getting into position for the hatch becomes tricky as we are all now getting slapped and buffeted against the aircraft.

004: *crawling and pulling himself towards hatch* I got it....I got....I got it.....

I don't got it......

This goes on for nearly 20 minutes with all four of us but, we make it in, alert the RAF and move with great stealth about the big bird.

Hatch in the forward cabin - 004 pops up, eyes the position of the three targets and adds "Lovely party....Pity we weren't invited."

Three minutes later, three dead guys.

I think 006 took one to the lavatory to "play with the blue water" and I know I threw one knife.

Just another day in the office.....

004?

Did I miss anything?

BTW - Say what you will about airline food, but I found the cuisine on board to be quite passable. Good scotch too.

I'd say that was fairly accurate. However, you must remember how many pilots an SR-71 usually carries - Two, isn't it?

That means that....(shudder)....I only remember the dark and the cold and getting slammed again and again against the side of an SR-71 at over 1,000 MPH. (Dumb, dumb, stupid, stupid....oh John, what the ******* are we DOING here!!??)

There are many other mission I wish you would talk about. This one ranks up there in high levels of success and, yet, borders on the insane.

"I'm not going again"

Surrrrrrrre you're "not going" rummy....

How about the time we "had a car (well submarine) waiting" ?

I beginning to think we should just move some of these posts into the Fan Fiction section.

004 - If I can find it - Any objecion to posting chapter 1 of "Spies Not Unlike Those Similar to Ourselves"?

Sounds like it has possibilities.

Perhaps our stories should be listed in a new thread - just because. Any way we can set it up as a joint thread?

Let's privately discuss this via land line ASAP.

Yes, 003, I do indeed. Some of that was some of the more intense moments we have ever been a party to.

006, was, to say the least, not himself.

Then again, neither were we after that.

None of us....

Ahhh yes that was....

One of those moments....

Cue DISSOLVE............

M stands looking out over the Thames with a glass of bourbon. 003, 004, 007, 008 and 009 all stand about the office.

M: We have yet to have the proper identification confirmed, but it would appear that 006 was killed on assignment in Afica.

003: (under his breath to 004) I heard he got raped by a pack of wild zebras.

004: (reflectively) He'd of wanted it that way.

003: (nods, then grimaces) Wait...Nobody wants it THAT way.

M: (raising her voice and shooting a glare at 003) HOWEVER it may have happened, he was a good man and good agent.

004: He was a bootlick M. You hated him.

003: We all did.

004: (gesturing to 007) Hell, he trashed more cars in the parking lot alone than Bond has in his entire career.

007 shoots a dirty look at 004.

....or something like that.

Happily our 006 stumbled into the Tangiers station house a day later. He's never walked the same since.

Strange times.....

Oh yeah....

When I have more time I'll come up with decent entry for this thread. It took me nearly an hour just to read the posts.

Sheesh, one lousy "easy babysitting" weekend detail and a few hundred posts go up. All was not lost I did get to take out three terrorists on their way to San Onofre as I drove up to Santa Barbara. I love Q's new supercharged Mini RC cars with the C4 option and the dashboard controls. I'm going to have to get a few more of those for next weekend.

*Off to the pub. Raise a glass for me gentlemen. I take my vodka straight like my wo... oh that doesn't really apply does it?

I suppose now is as good a time as any to relate the story of my first mission ands how I ended up in Q-Branch. Nothing earth shaking, M just wanted me to investigate a string of animal thefts from city zoos. After my initial hunch which involved using the radar tracking system to search every high school and college cafeteria on the planet didn't pay off, (Q was REALLY steamed that I used the satellite that his cable company used), I ended up finding that a splinter group of dusgruntled PETA members was behind it. Naturally, I tracked them down and utilized my license to kill. Unfortunately, I didn't know at the time that there was a week long period after approval where I couldn't kill anybody. Needless to say, my follow-up meeting was chilly at best. Thankfully, 007 had just saved the world again, (showoff), and M let me stay on as a supervisor with Q.

OK....Back on the original topic....

Which was...:)

Never mind....

Ah yes, now that I'm familiar with your dossier Genrewriter (I may start calling you G - no offence), I'd heard you were our "man on the inside" at Q Branch. (psst...any chance of getting the new torch flamethrower on the Jag by next week?.......I got a....Bar-B-Que...to...um....attend....)

Well, he's a bit wall-eyed. Especially after the Vanquish went on the fritz while he was inside and sent him face first into a wall while he was adjusting the ekector seat. The Jag was no big deal, just make sure you and 004 don't let the gas tank get below a quarter of a tank. This is a high-precision vehicle I'm giving you two.
