I know. It's really surprising because I never get confused and I can always pick a book up and remember exactly what's happened through the story and where I left off.

Well, I guess that's good then that you can do it. The most I can usually handle is 2 books at once, but I usuallu go so engrossed in the one that I want to finish it even quicker, and then finish the other one.

This is kinda silly...

I was just reading the part in TMWTRT where Bond and Reiko are trapped in the room with the mosquitos. A bug landed on me and scared the **** out of me. I guess i should say it scared the living daylights out of me.

I just received my UK 1st edition of Death is Forever in the mail, so I figure it's time to reread it again!

I've always thought it was a good one of his. :)

I just finished License Renewed last night and am trying to decide whether to go with Gardner's second, For Special Services, or skip to something else.

I'd give For special Services a spin. I just finished re-reading it a week ago, it's great.

I second Genrewriter's suggestion, it truly is one of the best paced novels by Gardner, and after reading that shining review on Bond's Saab by Zencat, I'm very eager to read For Special Services again. :)

Well that clinches it for me. Thanks for the suggestions Genrewriter and Qwerty.

I got it for my birthday in hardback and started reading it and got through about half of it back when it came out in 1982 or 1983 and never finished it. I came close to beginning it last night, but chose to watch my DVD of The Persuaders with the Roger commentary instead.

My boyfriend is currently reading TMWTRT - it's his first non-Flemming Bond novel and he's enjoying it a lot. I'm going to get him reading the Gardner novels when he gets back from his month in Kansas.

And I'm currently six chapters into IceBreaker - the chapter where Bond gets the picture of Tudeer. It's good - but it's not my favourite novel.

Gardner seems to unnecessarily flirt with foreign locations. Bond is in Funchal for less than a chapter - this could've quite easily been kept in Scandinavia and this would've been the Norse country novel, like YOLT was the Japanese Bond novel.

But anyway.

After that I'm gonna have to find me a copy of Role of Honor, Death is Forever or Never Send Flowers.

Or eventually finish TFOD.

Just as a suggestion terminus, I'd continue with Role Of Honour, so if you've read FSS, you can continue with the SPECTRE trilogy. :)

I finished James Bond the Authorised Biography by John Pearson last week and started on the Chris Wood novelisation James Bond and Moonraker.
Also, Goldfinger came in the post this morning which I'm anxious to read.

I just finished reading You Only Live Twice for my first time. I thought the first half of the book was somewhat dull, but I rather enjoyed the second half. The ending was great.

Soon I will start The Man With The Golden Gun. I recently bought one of the new Penguin copies.

Started Diamonds Are Forever several days ago. This is my second time reading it - the first time I read it, I wasn't used to Fleming's style and wasn't able to take anything in. I'll probably read From Russia With Love after that one (well, there are a few other non-Bond books I'll read in-between) and then skip to Thunderball, as I've read all the books from Doctor No on to For Your Eyes Only and took those in rather well.
