No and I haven't since the winter. I should probably pick a post-Fleming from the library. I'm thinking of going Gardner, who I think is alright. Benson bores me to tears.

Read the short stories "Quantum of Solace" and "Risico" earlier today. Both very good, although I wish some of the "Quantum of Solace" material had actually made it into the film.

Only holdover was the meaning of quantum of solace. But that story was so gorgeous. Watching Fleming flex his muscles.

I'm reading Hurricane Gold at the moment, made my way through all the Flemings, Colonel Sun, the Two Christopher Wood novelizations, the Gardners (inc. novelizations), the Bensons (inc. novelizations), Devil May Care and the first two young Bond last year - so this year is about finishing up. Done the Moneypenny diaries and Double Or Die so far.

Read about half of Casino Royale yesterday. Still one of my all-time favorite novels, and the best of Fleming's Bond stories.

Technically, no, but I ordered the UK Paperback of Devil May Care off of amazon, admittedly just because I like the UK cover. Also ordered License Renewed, which is meant to arrive today or tomorrow. Have yet to check the mail.

Double or Die is my present challenge.

My favorite Young Bond novel (so far)!
Currently, I'm on High Time To Kill. I've been stuck on that for a while. I plan to have it finished shortly (even though I'm only on chapter 15...B))

No, but as I've just graduated from high school, I'll probably have a lot more time in which to pick one up; I think I'll start the series all over again, with Casino Royale.

Also, does anyone know where I can pick a hardcover copy (in really good condition) of both Licence Renewed, by John Gardner, and James Bond, The Spy Who Loved Me, by Christopher Wood? I'd like to make my Bond collection a little more inclusive over the course of the summer holiday. B)

As I'm planning on going through Gardner's entire run, I have just finished License Renewed. So naturally my next one will be For Special Services. Probably start on that tomorrow.

I know it's a little off topic, but congrats on the graduation, Mr. Blofeld!!! B)

Now, back on topic, I LOVE Casino Royale. It's my favorite Bond novel (so far)! Can't go wrong with a classic!!!!!!

I read Moonraker and Doctor No acouple of weeks. They were a couple of my favorites when I first read the series along time ago and have reread them since. Now I have picked up Live and Let Die. I have only read it once and I remember it being one of my least favorite of the Fleming books. It will be interesting to see if my opinion changes.

Eh, just do some internet surfing. I got lucky and found all of the Gardner books in almost new condition at a used book store, but I'm sure you can find them in similar condition with enough internet trolling. I'll go see if I can't find anything now actually.

Well there are three "Buy it now" copies of Renewed on ebay that look to be in very good condition:

Reading Dr. No again. The more I read it, the more I enjoy it. Love the suspense, which is set up really, really well and mixed in among such well rounded atmosphere. I can't help but fall prey to Fleming's infectious love for Jamaica and the Caribbean. All of his Caribbean-based tales are among my favorites, and this particular one I will never tire of re-reading. Helps also that it continues the dynamic between Bond & Quarrel from LALD, which is another of my favorites. Looking forward to the obstacle course, one of the best third acts in any of the novels.

I finished YOLT last week. It was only the second time I read it and the first time in many, many years. I was only a kid the first time I read it and I did not like it that much. I was probably expecting something more like the movie, which I loved then (and still).

With my second reading, I appreciated the book alot more, with Bond's long talks with Tiger. I still see, however, why the producers and writers of the movie felt that they had to change things substantially for the movie.

Actually, I'm reading Licence Renewed, in english. I'm at the sixth chapter, and I think the previous one, The Road to Ascot, a little dull, but I'm eager to discover the rest of the Murik's plot. B)
After, I schedule to read the 6 other Gardner's novel, Dr.No, in English too, and some Bond in French. And between them, some "classiques de la langue françaises".
