Yeah, there's been a thread or two about it, although they use OHMSS, at the time, John Barry was supposed to have been scoring it, but since then things have changed and now some other fella whose name slips my mind is fulfilling scoring duties instead. Shame.

Apparantly Barry and the producers couldn't come to an agreement on what style they were going to use. I heard that he did a few cues and as they weren't really what the producers were looking for, they dumped him.

Yeah I know. I'll try and find the article later. I believe it was in Total Film about 2 issues ago.

I saw the trailer once or twice, and I seem to remember the theme. Shame that Barry is not doing the whole score then.

It really pisses me off as I am a huge fan of John Barry. Unfortunately, his style of scoring is not in style with the current theme of clanking and clunking that qualfies for film music anymore. The last new John Barry I got was Eternal Echoes and Enigma in 1992. I have to make due collecting older ones and hearing them for the first time, like Until September.

His Medal of Honor stuff isn't bad, either. He is orchestral and does not rely solely on elctronic music. He's no John Barry, though, and now I wonder if/when we'll ever get some new Barry music out there. Let's face it--he's not getting any younger.

Did he do the music for "Medal Of Honor: Frontline"? If he did, he did great work on that game.

Yes, he did that one. And a great score that is - I got the CD as soon as I could.

Yes, it was he. His work is right in the shadows of John Williams, and I feel he is an up-and-coming composer. He's more classical than contemporary. By that I mean he'd rather NOT use a synth score and bring in chorale instead. "Frontline" is the best work he has done and I listen to that CD constantly. It's sad Barry isn't doing the music, but Disney knows jack **** nowadays. (I want Barry back...but that's another discussion. :) )

When I saw that trailer, I grinned from ear to ear and laughed. A lot of ppl I saw it with (think it was in front of "Finding Nemo" actually) knew it too. I'll be seeing the film for sure.

Seems they went from John Barry's OHMSS to David Arnolds OHMSS. The music worked well, but the trailer sort of stank. :)

Last week I was in J&R Music World here in NY and heard the OHMSS theme. I looked up and wondered where it came from and then saw the Incredibles trailer.

I hope they use the theme in the film itself and have faith that Pixar will deliver a great film.

It's unfortunate that John Barry wasn't signed to do the score for this movie. I think he would've made a perfect match. I hope Giacchino is just as good. (I haven't heard any of his previous work, so I can't really say.)

I'm surprised they're still using the OHMSS theme. Is that gonna be the theme for this movie or is it just holdover music?

Actually, I don't think the "funky" OHMSS music was made by Arnold. It was made by Propellerheads, but it was put in the David Arnold's CD featuring Bond music by other artists ("Shaken Not Stirred").

BTW, the movie loooks cool, can't wait until November...

Sadly, Barry was signed to do this movie. Giacchino is replacing him.

Which makes me wonder whether or not if there was any music composed beforehand.

(And if that was the case... a rejected score, anyone? :))

I put this in the General Film discussion forum because it doesn't concern a Bond spoof but rather a new rendition of the famous John Barry theme for OHMSS. It might not show up in the film, but I was watching Access Hollywood's "Top Ten Must-See Upcoming Movies" or whatever it was called and heard that unmistakeable music when they showed the trailer and some clips of the final Disney/Pixar collaboration film, The Incredibles.

It wasn't the original theme, but an updated version, with a higher tempo and distinct "new" tones, sort of like the Bond theme from Dr. No compared with the version you hear in the Brosnan films. It sounds like whoever updated it did a very good job.

Anyway, I'm thinking since it's an updated version it'll be in the final film and this won't be simply some of that music you only hear on trailers and that's never in the film when you go see it. I hope so anyway. I've always loved the original theme and this update sounds....well, cool. :)

Of course, the theme could've been used in another film before and I'm making a big deal about nothing. :) But I just thought I'd let everyone here know that we might be hearing it again come 2005.

the one in the trailer sounds a lot like the one done by the propellerheads
