...The scene where Mr Incredible is infiltrating Syndrome's island lair is pure James Bond.//
The lair itself is pure Bond. I would swear the monorail cars are exactly the monorail cars from You Only Live Twice.

Totally agree with you there, level. It's common in Hollywood to get a relative unknown while they're still cheap to hire so the director can say "give me the Bond sound" or "I want the Goldsmith sound." That's what happened early on in James Horner's career with the likes of Battle Beyond the Stars and the 2nd Star Trek movie.hi
First, it's michael Giacchino.
Second, why people don't understand that it's easier to reproduce the bond sound from the sixites than creating a new bond sound ?
As do I, and it highlights that this guy just might have some real talent because the music for the two is so diferent. I'm looking forward to listening to the score when I buy the CD.p.S.: I love whwat Giacchino did on the Alias series and the Incredibles.

Also: "Kronos Unveiled" has some strikingly similar sounds to John William's "Across the Stars" from Attack of the Clones.

Just got The Incredibles for Christmas - man, I've been waiting for this ever since they announced that Giacchino would compose the score. I've been a fan of his ever since I got Medal Of Honor Frontline, which had a phenominal score. I then got the CD and fell in love with his music. Anyway, I finally gave the CD a listen-to today, and it's just fantastic. Giacchino is an amazing composer, and I look forward to hearing more from him in the future. Although, I'm very content with Arnold's Bond scores, and would rather keep with him as composer.
My sentiments exactley

I think Johnny English succeeds in being a Bond pastische with original elements more than this does.

I can see where it sounds a little bit like Bond, but as the liner notes say it's more in keeping with the many spy & caper comedies of the 60's. Johnny Dankworth and Johnny (John) Williams immediately spring to mind.
Still, one of the best scores in 2004. Cetainly top 10.

Overall, the special features were good, but the "Jack-Jack Attack" cartoon was weak and felt truncated, and it's supposed to be the main piece of extra candy you get for buying the disc. Also, the bloopers were in the style of Shrek's rendering errors as opposed to Pixar's fantastic characters flubbing their lines and missing their marks. That was a pretty big letdown for me. On the plus side, there is a whole section on all the other supers we only got to see teeny bits of in the movie.
There's also the same preview for their next film Cars that we've already seen. Kind of like the belt buckle trailer they ran for The Incredibles for a year before we saw anything else.
The movie gets 5 out 5. The special features only a 3.

It was interesting to see, along with other scenes that didn't make the final cut, but they were all stopped at the early development stage. What got rendered was the final story and not much beyond it seems.

Michael Giacchino did a great job with the Barry-esque music, even some parts reminded me of Goldfinger...

This has got to be the worst animated feature I've ever seen.
Hollywood, get a grip. What the hells happened?.

Well, unless it's The Little Mermaid, Sleeping Beauty, EXO Squad, Sailor Moon...
...or James Bond Jr
