I'm eagerly looking forward to this. Might be the Thomas Crown sequel we may never get.

*sigh* If only I was Pierce Brosnan in that picture.*sigh* If only I was Salma Hayek in that picture.
Just saw the trailer. Looks pretty good. Although I hope it's not just going to be another TCA, with Salma Hayek instead of Rene Russo.
Not that I'm complaining about Salma (see above).

Strangely enough, at about 10:45 that same night, I heard some screaming coming from the west. Perhaps it was Eon realizing what they just kissed off.

One can only pray.....

I don't think the performance looks like any more than the standard Pierce we've come to expect. Thus far, Brosnan's two best performances were in The Tailor of Panama and Evelyn. His character in Sunset just has the same delivery and mannerisms of Brosnan's Bond in DAD.I got the trailer on ET on Friday night. Pierce looks migh-T-y fine in that trailer, and it looks like this movie is going to seriously rock, and show folks that when Pierce wants to bring it, he BRINGS it.
But despite that, I don't think that matters too much. "Standard Pierce"should be able to carry a movie like this, it's just that I'd prefer to see something a little different from him.

I will agree. This film looks like it carries lots of potential, and Brosnan could really be a standout in it, if they wanted him to be.I got the trailer on ET on Friday night. Pierce looks migh-T-y fine in that trailer, and it looks like this movie is going to seriously rock, and show folks that when Pierce wants to bring it, he BRINGS it.

No sign of Woody and Pierce's big love scene either.

Definitely. Could be one of his best films.Anyone else thinks this looks pretty cool. Very Thomas Crown, even the music in the trailer.

And if I'm not wrong, isn't Pierce driving a car by remote control in the trailer?
Again, sorry to be doubtful here. But I wasn't impressed. Or all that interested. And I think the box office will be in the same range as the Tailor of Panama, and the Laws Of Attraction, meaning EON will be proven right: Pierce is a movie star only when he plays Bond. Bond sells the tickets, not Pierce.

Tough you have to admit they way they took control of the car was pretty cool.if I'm not wrong, isn't Pierce driving a car by remote control in the trailer? Again, sorry be doubtful here. But I wasn't impressed.

Tough you have to admit they way they took control of the car was pretty cool.
Cool? Yes. In concept.
In reality: Pierce was bouncing around the back of the car in TND as he drove it by remote control. Here, he's standing still, on the top of a building overlooking the Disney concert hall, passively doing the same thing.
The audience, it's all the same thing. He's driving a car by remote control... Which he did almost eight years ago in a Bond film.
But in the Bond film, he was more active, and more tied in to the action.
So again, it looks to me like you've got one part TND (the car) one part DAD's exotic woman (Selma for Hallie), one part last big break in (Thomas Crown), and one part pensive love conflict on a beach (Natalya from Goldeneye,) adding up to something that we seem to have seen before.
I'll admit, however, that I like Pierce's looks in this a lot better than the more recent Bond films, where he looks (to my eye) a little too gaunt, styled, stressed out, and euro-trashy.
There are times in TWINE and DAD when it looks to me like he's trying out for Zoolander.

I seem to find that since GoldenEye he seems to play his charactures (outside of Bond) more Bondian than he does Bond. So... i'm excited
On this, I agree with you. I wish he brought half the fun to Bond that he brings to these other roles. The last time he looked like he was enjoying himself was in Goldeneye. Ever since, I think he's been playing Bond like a man in pain, while in his other films, he seems more cool, ironic and Bondian.
When I first saw Goldeneye I thought that Brosnan would ultimately overshadow Connery. But with each passing film, which I think have gotten worse, he seems to get smaller while the action gets bigger.
