A friend told me he saw the DAD trailer w/ the digital ATOC at The Grove, the new luxury megaplex at the Farmers Market on Fairfax. BTW; the audience reaction was NOT kind...L.A. audiences can be downright vicious to trailers.
MGM marketing needs to do better. Much better.

Interestingly all the Star Wars films have been U cert in the UK, yet now we have news of a PG trailer being shown with the new one. Does this mean that AOTC is going to be the first PG SW film or are Fox not concerned that the inclusion of a PG trailer with a U film is against UK law or is this report a load of rubbish. All Bond trailers have been made in a U cert versions for U cert films.

That said, the Fox International website lists the USA as a region but doesn't make any mention of Canada, but it does mention Latin America. So that may indicate that in Canada Die Another Day will be released by MGM.

Why?
Well I thought I'd post this off the main page. But when I rang Fox I said I was after details on the Die Another Day teaser trailer and whether or not it will be showing before Star Wars. The person told me "I'm pretty sure it will be, let me just check". I then spoke to someone else who said that the placement of the trailer hadn't been confirmed. Now the main thing to note there is no one is deny the trailers existance, or the possibility of it being shown in May! The trailer does exist

I recall my reaction to the GE teaser after a six year hiatus. I don't remeber the film I was seeing, but I do remember afterwards, going right back into line, paying full price, and staying just for the trailer before leaving (floating about 007 feet of the ground). Mr. Lucas has found a way to sucker me in on opening night with the masses.

I just spoke with a representative of 20th Century Fox Australia about the teaser trailer for Die Another Day. It's still up in the air for Australian fans. As yet the placement of the teaser trailer has not been confirmed for "this region".
While just speculation, my guess would be that the trailer will be attached to Australian prints of Star Wars: Attack of the Clones considering that it will be attached to UK prints.
All these exclusives and firsts that CommanderBond.Net is full of. No wonders we're the best

The teaser is available through National Screen Services in the UK to any cinema that requests it, although it has yet to be despatched. We've been assured that all trailers playing before Episode II will be with us on Wednesday morning or before. The film itself is arriving on Tuesday at EVERY UK cinema its playing in, giving techies plenty of time to assemble the print.
All cinema chains in the UK should be preparing trailer reels to play with the first show, as Fox have specified that some trailers (Minority Report v2, Austin Powers 3 v4 and Spiderman v4) must play with all prints. The DAD teaser is not cumpolsory in the eyes of the distributor, but Odeon have insisted it play. Whether or not other chains follow suit, I don't know. It will also, within a few weeks, play with other films on request.
Unfortunately, trailers don't come 'in the can' over here - they are sent separately, so it all depends on when we receive the trailers in the post as to when we can add them to the reels.
There is a list of Odeon cinemas in the uk here: http://cinestyle.use...emas/index.html
Cheers
Dan

I first saw the trailer on Yahoo! Movies all chopped up b/c I have a 56k connection. Thank God for downloadable, high quality QuickTime (even though I hate Apple Computers)!

Perchance, does anybody have a DivX encoded version? Thanks to Apple's fscking patents on the Sorenson codec, I can't view QuickTime files.

Audience reaction was muted to say the least - but remember that these are the type of people whose idea of entertainment is two hours of turgid nonsense with no plot.
Fortunately for me the projector broke down immediately after the trailer finished so I was able to escape!

Blue Eyes (09 May, 2002 12:11 p.m.):
Bloomin' 'eck! Out here we pay what is 4 quid and that's top price for the best cinemas in the city! At the local ones you'll pay just out 3 quid for full price. And as a student I get in to the city ones for just under 3 quid!
In addition: In Germany we have to pay 5 to 6 Euros, depending on the cinema... Students usually have to pay 4 or 5 Euros.
5 Euros = 3,11 GBP = 4,52 US$ = 7,98 AUD...

Maybe we should organise it in the UK where we all walk out straight after the trailer at the same showing across the country. :-D Get some more publicity
He he, this would be good, I don't mind doing this as I have a UGC Cinema pass (only

What it did have, and was different to other reports floating about, were trailers for Minority Report, Scooby Doo, Snow Dogs, and for some reason Bend It Like Beckham (which has been out for ages).
And to top it off Star Wars was ****, felt more like a BladeRunner clone than a Star Wars film. Last 30 minutes is pretty cool though.

My advise:
SEE THIS TRAILER ON THE BIG SCREEN.
I'd already seen the downloaded version from Yahoo, but it in no way compares.
The admission price was worth it for the trailer alone.
