In Los Angeles...

A friend told me he saw the DAD trailer w/ the digital ATOC at The Grove, the new luxury megaplex at the Farmers Market on Fairfax. BTW; the audience reaction was NOT kind...L.A. audiences can be downright vicious to trailers.

MGM marketing needs to do better. Much better.

The first public screening of Attack of the Clones in the UK will be at the Odeon Leicester Square at 11.40 pm on Wed 15 of May. Is this the major cinema and screening that "Dave" has told you about?

Interestingly all the Star Wars films have been U cert in the UK, yet now we have news of a PG trailer being shown with the new one. Does this mean that AOTC is going to be the first PG SW film or are Fox not concerned that the inclusion of a PG trailer with a U film is against UK law or is this report a load of rubbish. All Bond trailers have been made in a U cert versions for U cert films.

I'm not sure John007. But one way to tell would be to think back sometime. When Tomorrow Never Dies was released did you get the UIP (United International Pictures) before the United Artists logo? If so, then the chances are Canada will be a Fox release and not an MGM one.

That said, the Fox International website lists the USA as a region but doesn't make any mention of Canada, but it does mention Latin America. So that may indicate that in Canada Die Another Day will be released by MGM.

Having now seen the trailer and look at the Yahoo Movie site made for it, I couldn't help but notice that CommanderBond.Net is one of the sites linked in the websites list!

Now there's a reason to go to a midnight screening!!!! Seriously.. all my friends love Star Wars and yes I was going to go and watch the film anyway but WOW! this is gonna be far better than AOTC... just to see 56 secs of DAD! WOW! WOW! WOW! I'll leave after the trailers! Only kidding! WOW! My friends tease me because I always HAVE to see the trailers (I get cranky if I miss them) but this is a new level of madness I must say!

Does anyone know if Canada is included in MGM's marketinf or Fox's marketing. I absolutly hope that we will see the Bond trailer before the Star Wars in Canada, and i will try my best to find out if they will. But i'd like to know who's doing the marketing north of the border of the U.S.??

May the 16th cannot come soon enough. I'm so glad that I've got my tickets for Episode II already. If they don't show it in Australia there'll be one really unhappy chappy here! >( But I'm almost certain it will be shown in Australia.

Why?

Well I thought I'd post this off the main page. But when I rang Fox I said I was after details on the Die Another Day teaser trailer and whether or not it will be showing before Star Wars. The person told me "I'm pretty sure it will be, let me just check". I then spoke to someone else who said that the placement of the trailer hadn't been confirmed. Now the main thing to note there is no one is deny the trailers existance, or the possibility of it being shown in May! The trailer does exist :)

56 seconds...Hmmmm. I recall TND's teaser as only running 1:05 and TWINE wasn't much longer. Give me the music, the images and the CGI titles and end it with the date and that last chord of guitar & I'll be ready for a Martini.

I recall my reaction to the GE teaser after a six year hiatus. I don't remeber the film I was seeing, but I do remember afterwards, going right back into line, paying full price, and staying just for the trailer before leaving (floating about 007 feet of the ground). Mr. Lucas has found a way to sucker me in on opening night with the masses.

News from the main page;

I just spoke with a representative of 20th Century Fox Australia about the teaser trailer for Die Another Day. It's still up in the air for Australian fans. As yet the placement of the teaser trailer has not been confirmed for "this region".

While just speculation, my guess would be that the trailer will be attached to Australian prints of Star Wars: Attack of the Clones considering that it will be attached to UK prints.

All these exclusives and firsts that CommanderBond.Net is full of. No wonders we're the best :)

The rating thing up there says PG. Is that some UK thing or could the film possibly be tamer than the last 4?

Never thought that trailers would be rated. :)

I thought that they were for general public consumption.

The file is in Large Quicktime format at the official site now. I believe this is the direct link for the large file format, which for some reason isn't currently working at the site!

Hi john007, Sorry, but Cineplex Odeon in the US is not related to Odeon in the UK. The UK Odeon Group, owned by Cinven, comprises 107 cinemas in England, and incorporates the ABC chain of cinemas.

The teaser is available through National Screen Services in the UK to any cinema that requests it, although it has yet to be despatched. We've been assured that all trailers playing before Episode II will be with us on Wednesday morning or before. The film itself is arriving on Tuesday at EVERY UK cinema its playing in, giving techies plenty of time to assemble the print.

All cinema chains in the UK should be preparing trailer reels to play with the first show, as Fox have specified that some trailers (Minority Report v2, Austin Powers 3 v4 and Spiderman v4) must play with all prints. The DAD teaser is not cumpolsory in the eyes of the distributor, but Odeon have insisted it play. Whether or not other chains follow suit, I don't know. It will also, within a few weeks, play with other films on request.

Unfortunately, trailers don't come 'in the can' over here - they are sent separately, so it all depends on when we receive the trailers in the post as to when we can add them to the reels.

There is a list of Odeon cinemas in the uk here: http://cinestyle.use...emas/index.html

Cheers
Dan

The "Orgasmic" trailer in large format is at my site to download for free. The file in Zipped but not altered like MI6.co.uk divx version. To be able to download the streaming QuickTime you need QuickTime Pro. It cost like $30. It is kind of stupid b/c these trailers and clips are advertisments. Enjoy!!!

I first saw the trailer on Yahoo! Movies all chopped up b/c I have a 56k connection. Thank God for downloadable, high quality QuickTime (even though I hate Apple Computers)!

Perchance, does anybody have a DivX encoded version? Thanks to Apple's fscking patents on the Sorenson codec, I can't view QuickTime files.

Just saw it at the UCI cinema in Edinburgh.
Audience reaction was muted to say the least - but remember that these are the type of people whose idea of entertainment is two hours of turgid nonsense with no plot.
Fortunately for me the projector broke down immediately after the trailer finished so I was able to escape!

Bloomin' 'eck! Out here we pay what is 4 quid and that's top price for the best cinemas in the city! At the local ones you'll pay just out 3 quid for full price. And as a student I get in to the city ones for just under 3 quid!

In addition: In Germany we have to pay 5 to 6 Euros, depending on the cinema... Students usually have to pay 4 or 5 Euros.

5 Euros = 3,11 GBP = 4,52 US$ = 7,98 AUD...

Sadly, i went to go see Attack of the Clones (Which stank except for yoda's fight and the battle at the end!) but there was no DAD trailer! i guess i'll have to wait until Goldmember comes out to see the trailer on the big screen!

I just thought of something. The official site has just updated with the parachute news. Does that means we'll see the trailers online incarnation delayed because the last report has delayed too? I sincerely hope not.

Maybe we should organise it in the UK where we all walk out straight after the trailer at the same showing across the country. :-D Get some more publicity

He he, this would be good, I don't mind doing this as I have a UGC Cinema pass (only

I'd only be guessing if I said it, but I'd presume no. It's a different market and it falls under the US where it isn't being shipped and it's only optional to theatres. Ring them up, tell them how to get it, tell them they'll get free advertising here and maybe that will work :)

I've just got back from seeing one of the first showings of SW:AOTC, and to my utter dissapointment it did not have the Bond Trailer on at the start.

What it did have, and was different to other reports floating about, were trailers for Minority Report, Scooby Doo, Snow Dogs, and for some reason Bend It Like Beckham (which has been out for ages).

And to top it off Star Wars was ****, felt more like a BladeRunner clone than a Star Wars film. Last 30 minutes is pretty cool though.

I saw SW:AOTC last night. After 2 trailers for Scooby Doo and A Disney film, i'd almost given up hope, But then... Up came the Fox logo, followed by MGM and there it was.

My advise:

SEE THIS TRAILER ON THE BIG SCREEN.

I'd already seen the downloaded version from Yahoo, but it in no way compares.
The admission price was worth it for the trailer alone.

Daniel, i know this is a tough question, but do you think that the teaser trailer will be playing at the Odeon theaters in Canada?? They are named Cineplex Odeon, so they are propably the same chain as in the UK. I've called so many times to various theaters and all they say is "were not sure yet".

Oh and Happy Mothers Day to all of your mothers!!
