...on Friday...when I saw EP II - it was great!

As soon as the MGM emblem come up, I was all ears and sooooooooo excited!

Anything and Everything is so much better at the Cinema, on that massive screen!

I wonder what it could mean in tearms of content or if it is a change in attitude at the BBFC.

I'm guessing it's the change of content. We've seen battles in Star Wars before, however, the huge arena battle featured in the trailer seems a lot more graphic compared to previous films.

And some more news from the main page;

Looking into news about the possibility of the teaser trailer for Die Another Day being shown before Star Wars Attack of the Clones I contact our source Mr Potato Head, who returned some great details!

Roughly a fortnight ago Mr Potato Head he spoke to someone within Fox International. He was told that the editing of the teaser trailer for Die Another Day was almost completed.

Fast forward two weeks and we have the news the teaser may be seen in theatres from May 16 onwards.

From this we can presume that the major cinema I referred to in the UK may not be the only theatre set to receive the trailer for Die Another Day.

Great news there from my source!!

Well, at least I have something to look forward to when Die Another Day comes out on DVD.

I am not, repeat am not, going to go see Episode two just to see the trailer. I have no desire to see Star Wars II until I know that no character anywhere near JarJar will be in this movie.

As for where Canada fits in...Canada is considered part of the US domestic market, so MGM might release the trailer itself. I don't think Fox will be involved here, but I am not sure.

Well Daniel, what did I tell you? I told you FOX wouldn't let DAD pass through their fingers. The DAD chaos engine has begun and I know for a damn well fact that, if MGM and FOX can work together, we could possibly see DAD trailers on the FOX networks. Ooh. Aah. Leave it to the young apprentice to show off his master, eh? :)

Hello people (especially Brits here) I just contacted a few theatres and they said that if you were going to the midnight screenings (like poor little me) they may not have any chance to put the trailer (or any trailer) in front of Attack Of The Clones. Everyone I talked to said that the technicians had to put the trailers on and that took time... once they get the print they play it apparently. So it's really important to know if the DAD trailer is attatched to the pirn or not for those seeing it at midnight in the UK. Either way... if it isn't then I'll just have to enjoy Episode Two then pay to see it again (

Hello everyone! Guess who's got tickets to a midnight showing of AOTC or what I like to call the first showing of the DAD teaser! They were expensive but my college magazine have paid for me! We have to dress up in Star Wars costume and it's gonna be cool (think I might dress up as Bond... the only reason I'm going to see it). My question is... is the trailer on the print? Can they take it off? Can they not show the Bond trailer? It says on the ticket that the showing is at 12.05 do you think that that's after 5 minutes of trailers? Hmmm? Trailer Bond be on front of Attack of the Clones hmmm?

Now in the UK The World is not Enough was given a 12, as was Tomorrow Never Dies and GoldenEye. Licence to Kill was given a 15. I'm guessing here, but I'd say 12 and PG are one in the same. So no, it doesn't seem that Die Another Day is going to be 'tame'. Also keep in mind that that rating is solely for the trailer and not for the final film.

Hello Daniel, I'm afraid to say that "12" & "PG" are not the same, here are the ratings for films in the U.K...
"U", "PG", "12", "15" & "18".
A film that has been certified "12" in the U.K. would be certified a "PG13" in the U.S.

now I'm not sure... but are you sure there will even be trailers? As I recall, there weren't any for the phantom menace. At least in the US. Is that just my imagination?

Great news! I can't wait to see the trailer.

Any idea how long it will take for the trailer to be available on-line once it is released in the theaters?

nice, I do hope that this ends up on the net though, since Korea doesn't really like trailers before movies and oh yeah we don't get AOTC until July......trailers come in two forms, green band and red band, green is for all audiences, which most are then there are the red ones which go only before R rated films, this is the US mind you, and include all the crude language...

Whoa, this is great news, especially for those of you lucky bastards over in England. I sure hope FOX shows DAD in front of the US prints. I mean, 56 seconds...think of what they could show. *giggle* Hopes rising...happiness ensuing...must...stop...anticipation! I will be sorely disappointed if DAD trailer is not in front of AOTC.

A number of people have said that they are not surprised that an image of Bond dishevelled with long hair and beard does not appear in the teaser (and nether am I)

However, A teaser that JUST contained images from the "hand back" scene, as an appetite wetter for the new film, would have at least got people talking. Which is more than they are doing now.

It is probably worth keeping a close watch on Entertainment Tonight who usually show the Bond trailers, disguised as "an exclusive look at the new Bond film" or similar.
Of course they then mar the trailer by having Bob Goen interrupt telling you what you can clearly see for yourself, but even still, it's worth having a blank tape handy.

Well one can only really guess as so few sources actually want to confirm anything! One could guess you'll get to see it online first, unless Star Wars is released on May 16 as well!

Morton Slumber (08 May, 2002 03:16 a.m.):
The first public screening of Attack of the Clones in the UK will be at the Odeon Leicester Square at 11.40 pm on Wed 15 of May. Is this the major cinema and screening that "Dave" has told you about?

This is what I assumed, but my local UGC cinema is also showing the film on Wed 15th May (the film actually starts at 12am on Thursday morning - everywhere) so they will be showing trailers for the first 20 minutes.

I wasn't very interested in seeing SW2:AOTC but I might see if I can get that first showing so I can see the trailer.

Yes, I know. I have a number of Australian friends and when they first arrive they always find it a bit of a shock to the system

Well, it's nice (albeit admittedly petty) to know that there are some places that charge more for a movie ticket than N.Y.C. at $9-$10. (with rumored $12 tickets coming soon to theater near you)

After the atrocity that was TPM, I refuse to contribute any more money to Lucas' coffers, even if a ticket price was $1. Though, I would pay to see another film and then then catch the trailer. ;-)

Does anyone have an idea when this fantastic teaser trailer is coming to the Netherlands and other countries such as Germany and France etc. ?????????????

Well, James, I guess most countries where English is native language will have a chance to see the teaser on May 16th. In my opinion the Netherlands also have their chance, because the Dutch don't dubb English movies. So there Fox can easily show the British or American version of the teaser.

In Germany and France which are the two biggest international film markets for Hollywood movies outside the USA they will have to dubb the teaser. Then they have to remix the sound with the dubbing and the music. After that they create a new master and send it to the copy stations. And when the copies are ready they have to distribute them to the cinemas. That won't happen in such a short time as to May 16th - if there isn't a perfect masterplan and perfect organisation already in the pipeline. I really doubt that in this case.
As I was told by my source 'Station D' in Germany theatre owners decide which trailers to attach to a movie. In other words: 20th Century Fox of Germany can recommend to attach the DAD teaser to Star Wars, but finally every cinema makes its own decision. You can still expect the teaser with Star Wars, but maybe you'll have to wait another two or three weeks till it appears with these prints here in Germany.

James, at the moment I'm in terrible trouble, because the download won't work. There comes the popup, an eternity later there comes the casino ad, then another link and then the classic error screen that the server does not answer. Reloading is also without a chance. What's going on? Too many hits?

Clopin

Hi Clopin, I know we talked this morning and everything was fine again, but for those who tried early (GMT) yesterday morning and failed, it was due to a DNS reroute that took place after 4am GMT yesterday, which we weren't told was going to happen! :-( Everything's up again.

Well I'm sticking to my word and going to see EpII at a nearby multiplex who have said they are putting the DAD trailer on, so I'll be going in, watching, and walking out before EpII starts :-P

Although this has nothing to do with the Bond advertising campaign, i found it interesting how The Two Towers will be promoting their film, which comes out a month later. I think we can safely say that the Bond franchise will follow the same rough scedual:

TheOneRing.net tells us they've received a look at all the dates planned for "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" promo items. Trailers, posters, and much more - check it out...

May: The Two Towers teaser trailer released in theaters nationwide.

August 6: Theatrical release of The Fellowship of the Ring reaches stores in DVD/VHS, with DVD format featuring Houghton Mifflin video.

September: The Two Towers theatrical trailer in theaters nationwide.

September: New "Two Towers" teaser trailer and poster in theatres.

And that was from ComingSoon.net at http://www.comingsoo...020807231,44922,

Of all the news articles I've reported, this is one of the most exciting I must say. And I've reported well over 500 I'm guessing.

While I'm sure we've already seen more that 56 seconds worth of Die Another Day footage, this footage won't be documentary. It will be edited, from behind the camera, possibly with dialogue, and with the Bond theme playing in all its glory.

Fox, if this plays out to be accurate, you're ledgends. Putting the Die Another Day teaser in what is obviously going to be a mega-blockbuster! Excellent! I just hope the teaser is actually attached to the Star Wars print, that way individual cinemas wont splice it out.

As for my comment for high movie ticket prices....just befriend someone that works at the theater...or actually get your friends to work at the theater, and if all else fails..work for the theater! That way you get in free:)

This is probably irrelevant now since the trailer is online, but for anyone in the Chicago area, AMC30 in Warrenville/Wheaton is showing the trailer before ATOC.

I was not saying that AOTC was a U cert film, just that all the other ST films had been U. I knew that it had not yet been classified (at the time of my original writting), It is, in fact, quite significant that this film only just managed to get a PG, this is quite a departure for the SW series. I wonder what it could mean in tearms of content or if it is a change in attitude at the BBFC.

Anyway, it means that we can believe that the full DAD trailer can be shown with it. Which was what my other post was about.

Thanks Daniel, honestly i can't remember back to TND. I wish i could, but my mind is drawing a blank. I've left a few messages at the management office of the movie theaters we have here in Canada called FAMOUS PLAYERS. I'va also emailed them, so hopefully I will get a response from them soon.
