I wonder what it could mean in tearms of content or if it is a change in attitude at the BBFC.
I'm guessing it's the change of content. We've seen battles in Star Wars before, however, the huge arena battle featured in the trailer seems a lot more graphic compared to previous films.

Looking into news about the possibility of the teaser trailer for Die Another Day being shown before Star Wars Attack of the Clones I contact our source Mr Potato Head, who returned some great details!
Roughly a fortnight ago Mr Potato Head he spoke to someone within Fox International. He was told that the editing of the teaser trailer for Die Another Day was almost completed.
Fast forward two weeks and we have the news the teaser may be seen in theatres from May 16 onwards.
From this we can presume that the major cinema I referred to in the UK may not be the only theatre set to receive the trailer for Die Another Day.
Great news there from my source!!

I am not, repeat am not, going to go see Episode two just to see the trailer. I have no desire to see Star Wars II until I know that no character anywhere near JarJar will be in this movie.
As for where Canada fits in...Canada is considered part of the US domestic market, so MGM might release the trailer itself. I don't think Fox will be involved here, but I am not sure.

Now in the UK The World is not Enough was given a 12, as was Tomorrow Never Dies and GoldenEye. Licence to Kill was given a 15. I'm guessing here, but I'd say 12 and PG are one in the same. So no, it doesn't seem that Die Another Day is going to be 'tame'. Also keep in mind that that rating is solely for the trailer and not for the final film.
Hello Daniel, I'm afraid to say that "12" & "PG" are not the same, here are the ratings for films in the U.K...
"U", "PG", "12", "15" & "18".
A film that has been certified "12" in the U.K. would be certified a "PG13" in the U.S.

Any idea how long it will take for the trailer to be available on-line once it is released in the theaters?

However, A teaser that JUST contained images from the "hand back" scene, as an appetite wetter for the new film, would have at least got people talking. Which is more than they are doing now.

Of course they then mar the trailer by having Bob Goen interrupt telling you what you can clearly see for yourself, but even still, it's worth having a blank tape handy.

Morton Slumber (08 May, 2002 03:16 a.m.):
The first public screening of Attack of the Clones in the UK will be at the Odeon Leicester Square at 11.40 pm on Wed 15 of May. Is this the major cinema and screening that "Dave" has told you about?
This is what I assumed, but my local UGC cinema is also showing the film on Wed 15th May (the film actually starts at 12am on Thursday morning - everywhere) so they will be showing trailers for the first 20 minutes.
I wasn't very interested in seeing SW2:AOTC but I might see if I can get that first showing so I can see the trailer.

Yes, I know. I have a number of Australian friends and when they first arrive they always find it a bit of a shock to the system
Well, it's nice (albeit admittedly petty) to know that there are some places that charge more for a movie ticket than N.Y.C. at $9-$10. (with rumored $12 tickets coming soon to theater near you)
After the atrocity that was TPM, I refuse to contribute any more money to Lucas' coffers, even if a ticket price was $1. Though, I would pay to see another film and then then catch the trailer. ;-)

James Bond (08 May, 2002 08:32 a.m.):
Does anyone have an idea when this fantastic teaser trailer is coming to the Netherlands and other countries such as Germany and France etc. ?????????????
Well, James, I guess most countries where English is native language will have a chance to see the teaser on May 16th. In my opinion the Netherlands also have their chance, because the Dutch don't dubb English movies. So there Fox can easily show the British or American version of the teaser.
In Germany and France which are the two biggest international film markets for Hollywood movies outside the USA they will have to dubb the teaser. Then they have to remix the sound with the dubbing and the music. After that they create a new master and send it to the copy stations. And when the copies are ready they have to distribute them to the cinemas. That won't happen in such a short time as to May 16th - if there isn't a perfect masterplan and perfect organisation already in the pipeline. I really doubt that in this case.
As I was told by my source 'Station D' in Germany theatre owners decide which trailers to attach to a movie. In other words: 20th Century Fox of Germany can recommend to attach the DAD teaser to Star Wars, but finally every cinema makes its own decision. You can still expect the teaser with Star Wars, but maybe you'll have to wait another two or three weeks till it appears with these prints here in Germany.

James, at the moment I'm in terrible trouble, because the download won't work. There comes the popup, an eternity later there comes the casino ad, then another link and then the classic error screen that the server does not answer. Reloading is also without a chance. What's going on? Too many hits?
Clopin
Hi Clopin, I know we talked this morning and everything was fine again, but for those who tried early (GMT) yesterday morning and failed, it was due to a DNS reroute that took place after 4am GMT yesterday, which we weren't told was going to happen! :-( Everything's up again.
Well I'm sticking to my word and going to see EpII at a nearby multiplex who have said they are putting the DAD trailer on, so I'll be going in, watching, and walking out before EpII starts :-P

While I'm sure we've already seen more that 56 seconds worth of Die Another Day footage, this footage won't be documentary. It will be edited, from behind the camera, possibly with dialogue, and with the Bond theme playing in all its glory.
Fox, if this plays out to be accurate, you're ledgends. Putting the Die Another Day teaser in what is obviously going to be a mega-blockbuster! Excellent! I just hope the teaser is actually attached to the Star Wars print, that way individual cinemas wont splice it out.

This is probably irrelevant now since the trailer is online, but for anyone in the Chicago area, AMC30 in Warrenville/Wheaton is showing the trailer before ATOC.

Anyway, it means that we can believe that the full DAD trailer can be shown with it. Which was what my other post was about.
