As a fan who lived through the times the Moore movies seemed too over-the-top, I can say some of them have grown better with time. After six straight films where Bond films decided to go "serious," the Moore films reflect a time when Bond could just be a good time at the movies. You didn't feel like you had to feel his pain to get the next fun stunt or action sequence.

I too like some of the serious films, but I'd much rather watch MR or LALD than sit through something like TWINE any day.

I do enjoy the Moore films, but I prefer a more serious tone than most of his films had...

I mostly agree, but (a certain style of) humor wasn't what impaired the Moore era, so much as a combination between it, Moore's interpretation of the role, and the storylines written. After all, Connery and Lazenby could be quite funny, but they delivered their (different type of) humor differently. Aside from Moore having some God-awful lines, he was usually having TOO much fun for James Bond (a happy medium is needed, folks, and I'll be the first to concede that's one point that only Connery really and definitely understood). And of course, at least two of his flicks were just popcorn fare, and another would be if it weren't so dull (TMWTGG).

Anyway, I like all but that one, MR, and AVTAK, which puts him at 4/7 in my book, compared to 4/6(7), 1/1, 2/2, and 3/4 for the other Bonds. He's a fun guy to watch, but not as fun as the others, despite his indisputable charm and best attempts at being the most endearing 007. I'd rather he had just done a rival '70s spy franchise where he could relish in his lightheartedness, camp, and self-parody, and left the '70s for Lazenby or someone else.

FYEO, closely followed by Spy. Next up are MR (which after not seeing it for a while impressed me as good fun), Golden Gun, LALD, Octopussy (the opposite experience of MR) and finally the boring AVTAK.

I went with TSWLM. I think it has Sir Roger at his finest.

I saw AVTAK last night, and wow, does he look old!

Tie between A View To A Kill and Live and Let Die. But View is kinda getting dated with me.

My vote goes to Octopussy. I grew up watching the Roger Moore films, and this one was always my favorite.

"You have a nasty habit of surviving, Mr. Bond."

"Well, you know what they say about the fittest."

Octopussy is my favorite because I am cracking up constantly, the plot was realistic, and Maud Adams is simply one of the best Bond girls ever.

From favorite to least favorite:

1. Moonraker
2. The Man with the Golden Gun
3. The Spy Who Loved Me
4. For Your Eyes Only
5. A View to a Kill
6. Octopussy
7. Live and Let Die

Moonraker is criminally underrated, in my opinion.

Without a doubt, but I've been happy to see that a lot of Bond fans on CBn and other James Bond forums agree about it being underrated. One of the most enjoyable films in the series by far.

I have to admit I havent seen LALD, or OP ( I will when i can find them)
Here are my fav's
1. The Spy Who Loved Me- Great opening sequence and equal partner for 007
2. For Your Eyes Only- More human story
3. The Man With The Golden Gun- The use of Hong Kong and the action
4. A View To A Kill- The Eiffel tower chase sequence
5. Moonraker- Boat chase and more Jaws.
