Duran Duran's title theme was one of AVTAK's only redeeming qualities... Such a good tune.

Honorable mentions include: OHMSS, LALD, and of course TSWLM.

I like all of Bassey's songs, Tina Turner's Goldeneye, Adele's Skyfall and a few others, but my favourites would have to be:

Live and Let Die

You Know My Name

The Living Daylights

A View to a Kill

Nobody Does it Better

You Only Live Twice

Goldfinger

It's so iconic and a wonderful song, wonderfully sung by the Dame...

Goldfinger is definitely a good Bond song. That's why I like Adele "Skyfall" so much, she reminds me of her.

I think that's part of the reason they picked her. "Skyfall" definitely sounds like it could've been written and performed in the 60s.

I have to agree. Never really picked up on that before.

Another Bond song that I like is Paul McCartney and the Wings "Live and Let Die" I have that for my workout playlist and I have the Guns and Roses version on my workout playlist as well.

LALD might be my second favorite after the OHMSS main theme. I also like Weird Al's parody "Chicken Pot Pie."

One of the things that grabs me about "Diamonds Are Forever" is how the first eight bars of the song are accompanied with only an eerie shimmer and those ostinato bell tones - then there's a volley of brassy punches and the full orchestration kicks in with bass and rhythm. Brassy punches. I love saying that. Brassy punches brassy punches brassy punches.

Sorry.

Anyway, Dame Shirley and her weapons-grade voice, the titles imagery (the kitty, the diamonds, those lovely silhouetted hands that show up again in the titles for LALD and TSWLM and, arguably, S) and the aforementioned BPs make this the quintessential Bond title for me.

I really can't choose between LALD, GF and OHMSS....

All three are second to none (if that makes any sense!)

The Living Daylights.

I find myself listening to the instrumental and extended (badly edited mind) versions quite a bit, not so keen

on the album version, has anyone heard it? It's a lot different than the version used on the soundtrack.

I think you are right, "Skyfall" does sound like a classic 60s Bond theme at times, although the likes of Dame Shirley and Sir Tom managed without a choir in the background. On the other hand, that nod in the direction of the original Monty Norman theme after the first chorus is surely not accidental - I wondered before "Skyfall" was released whether the tune would include a reference to the Bond theme, as happened with the themes for "Goldfinger" and "Thunderball", and lo and behold, it did!

Adele's theme also reminds me of two other "classic" Bond tunes, from the 1970s. The piano intro. puts me in mind of "Nobody Does It Better" - but in a minor key - while the rest of it has vague echoes of "Diamonds Are Forever", at least to my tin ear.

I voted for "You Know My Name"... but I was watching the FYEO titles and the title song I feel is just horrendous. It sounds like it should be the song in a daytime soap or something.

People with sharp ears can hear a motif that found its way into the Living Daylights title song. ("Hey driver...")

Thank You, also why did they find to need to have her face the entire time singing it, makes the titles look like a stupid music video. The lyrics are terrible, all I hear is blah blah For Your Eyes Only.. only for you.. blah blah this song is garbage.

Great poll/question!!!!

Personally, I can listen to Herb Alpert's Casino Royale all day long!   I especially like it to listen to it when I'm driving around town and I run across some jerk-driver. I pop in that song into my car's stereo and those trumpets quickly drown out the voices in my head telling me to follow the jerk back to his home and teach him a very brutal lesson in 'driver's etiquette.'   So from the 'credit where credit's due' department: Any song that has saved that many lives (and kept my criminal record clean) gets my vote!

Honorable mentions:

Other favorite title songs (all of which set the tone for their respective films)  -

 1) FRWL - Prepares the moviegoer for the exotic locals and characters in the film perfectly.

 2) GF - Bold, just like Goldfinger's scheme and Connery's swagger!

 3) OHMSS  - Haunting and tense, which, coupled with Louis Armstrong's We Have All the Time in the World, serves as a omen for the film's

                         down-beat conclusion.

 4) (On a side note) TMWTGG also achieves this, but only to set the tone for the "1970's drive-in movie" overall quality of the film.

Favorite non-title song - A toss up between:

1) TB's Mr. Kiss-Kiss Bang-Bang (if the instrumental version were sped-up a little, I think it would've set the tone of the underwater adventure

more than Tom Jones' title song. (No offense Mr. Jones - I met you once and your were cool as hell!)

2) James Bond 007 (I think that's the name.)  Whatever its called, it was first introduced in FRWL, played in DAF during the assault on the

drilling platform, and in MR, it played during the Amazon boat chase.

Favorite overall soundtrack - YOLT (Beautiful soundtrack to wake up to in the morning!)

Favorite score - On my CD, its the second-half of GF's Welcome to Miami (or something like that.)  The score is a slowed-down,

strings-heavy version of the title song that's playing when 007 is tailing Goldfinger through the Alps, just before Tilly's

Mustang passes by him on her way to set up her sniper's  position.

If I'm allowed - let me add to my "favorite score" list.....

I was just listening to my 007 soundtrack and suddenly realized how 'effective' the MR score was during the "big reveal of Drax's space station",  as 007 enters orbit and sees the space station as it's comes over the Earth's horizon and is visible for the first time,  The score playing as the space station is hit by the sunlight  is highly effective.  Despite the fact that the film soon devolves into a cheesy space laser battle, etc. - the brief moment as the score is playing in the background fools the audience into thinking that MR was about to turn a corner and become a serious film.

Yes. One of the reasons this movie has moved up the rankings for me more than any other is I started appreciating the soundtracks....and realized how great this one was.

Honestly this has to be difficult for me I would say I personally liked tomorrow never dies intro and I think it might be my favorite but I also like The Worlds Not Enough Garbage are really good but If I picked one I would go with Casino Royale I like Chris since Audioslaves. I am not sure if anyone else can see this but I think I like abit of Quantum's after some time it grew on me and I like how the intro is built around the desert and that spunk from Alicia Keys. Not a fan but most definitely don't hate it.

Time for a new list:

1. The James Bond Theme (okay, that´s unfair; if it had been about songs, DR.NO´s "Underneath the Mango Tree" would not have made it to number one for me - or number two).

2. Nobody does it better (always brings a smile to my face)

3. We have all the time in the world (one of the most romantic and saddest songs ever)

4. You only live twice (remains magical - and worked also well for others: see "Mad Men")

5. Diamonds are forever (very elegant and haunting melody)

6. Live and let die (wicked fun)

7. Moonraker (again, magical, haunting, elegant, Bondian)

8. For your eyes only (sunny, feel good, Roger Moore-ian)

9. Goldfinger (okay, classic, probably over-exposed but still brilliant)

10. All time high (hah, so underrated, pure Barry, lovely)

11. You know my name (powerful, great melody, Craig begins)

12. Thunderball (another legendary song, very self-confident, brings a lot of oomph)

13. Licence to kill (underrated as well, soulful, I particularly love the bridge)

14. Never say never again (talking about underrated, has the sunny, feel-good atmosphere I already enjoy in For your eyes only)

15. Skyfall (a bit too somber and simple, but the bridge lifts it up for me)

16. Tomorrow never dies (I love the 60´s feel of the harmonies, good melody, too)

17. The world is not enough (great haunting melody, could have used a better bridge, too repetitive)

18. From Russia With Love (brings back memories of the sad, kitchy love songs of the 60´s, legendary in itself)

19. A view to a kill (has great elements, but seems patchy to me, as if Barry and Duran Duran didn´t really work together so well)

20. The living daylights (has great elements, but seems patchy to me, as if Barry and a-ha... wait a minute;  also, the chorus is too simple: "oooooooh, the living daylights - ooooooh, the living daylights")

21. The Man with the golden gun (almost too unintentionally funny lyrics, but a nice enough melody)

22. Goldeneye (the synth horns are almost a parody, Turner is good, the melody could have been better)

23. Die another day (um, well, different, too patchy, the lyrics... uh, no)

24. Another way to die (not really, really bad, establishes some nice atmosphere, but really - who had the idea that White and Keyes sing together at the same time in the same key?  Please, only Keyes would have been great, White alone seems to have too thin a voice, and again - very stitched together sounding melody)

I personally respect Another way to die it's not as good as the previous ones but it had a stylish feel like and young feeling and I think it fit Craig's character at the time.
