Thanks for the update. Let's hope he's recovering well.
Love the sunglasses. Yes!, no Tintin hair (What?!). Awesome scenery. Does anyone know if Michael is ok? It´s good to see the next gen working already, but it did get me worried.
Last sunday some people from the German Bond Fan Club met with Ken Adam in Berlin during the Berlin Film Festival.
And Adam told them, that Michael is recovering from a bypass-operation. That's why he doesn't do any promo for SPECTRE.

Not wanting to get anyone's hopes up at all, but I've heard rumours of a second videoblog today. A fortnight after the first one would make sense. I'll keep a beady eye on the official accounts.

*fingers crossed* A videoblog that covers the filming in Rome would be great!

More from Bond's childhood? This is making me nervous.
That being said, those scenes of M, Q, and Moneypenny look awesome. As does Craig as he enters the house in Austria.
I'm torn between excitement on the one hand, and apprehension ("this time it's personal") on the other.

So... this time it´s personal... again... um... but not only Bond is going rogue - M, Moneypenny and Q do, too!
Ah, what the heck - I can´t wait to see it because it´s a new Bond film.
Still, I´d wish we will get a Craig Bond that is not a personally motivated mission someday...

Roger Moore may have been the last one to have played Bond in a movie in which it wasn't personal...

Also, Mendes says: "It's about whether or not to pursue the life he's always pursued, whether he matters, and is he going to continue or not."
Haven't we seen this motif multiple times recently? Certainly in CR and SF, but also arguably in QoS and maybe even in DAD.
I just feel like this theme has been explored to death in recent outings.
Am I alone in wanting a normal mission this time around? Didn't the end of SF imply a return to business as usual?

I tend to agree Tiin.
This speech from Mendes makes me pretty nervous and less and less excited by the film.
This 'trauma'-related stories are so un-Bond to me.
I fear a 2nd disappointement in a row

The villain is named Oberhauser. Was there any doubt Bond's childhood would play into things?

I don't like the sound of more childhood stuff, nor another dilemna about whether or not he's still relevant. Nor M's office having the old wooden look, although it's good to have some continuity.
It just all seems like it's in a bit of a bubble of its own, the fingerprint-sensitive gun in Skyfall felt retro, as did the radio communicator. An uneasy mix of modern cinematography with the classic elements. It works but it's not really what I want from a Craig Bond film, after CR and QoS set up a new tone.
I thought it was going to be about Vesper?

It's like Goldmember with the childhood angle.
Obviously I'm exaggerating, but it just seems too convenient. Count me in among the slightly concerned.

I've said since the beginning that I had a gut feeling the film would explore the deaths of Bond's parents, and would somehow tie to Oberhauser, SPECTRE and a psychiatrist.

Yeah, that really irked me. In the Empire article Broccoli says that Bond is back at the top of his game, but that quote suggests an almost different outcome.

Very optimistic in regards of how EoN has handled continuity so far...SPECTRE is attempting to unite the entirety of the Craig era into a seamless four-film arc, so it will hearken back to all three previous films. As a result, it doubles-down on the themes running through the first three Craig adventures.

They may or may not pull it off, but it's definitely their intent.Very optimistic in regards of how EoN has handled continuity so far...SPECTRE is attempting to unite the entirety of the Craig era into a seamless four-film arc, so it will hearken back to all three previous films. I'd love to have a tight continuity distinction and a difference between the two eras' interconnectivity:Very optimistic in regards of how EoN has handled continuity so far...SPECTRE is attempting to unite the entirety of the Craig era into a seamless four-film arc, so it will hearken back to all three previous films. As a result, it doubles-down on the themes running through the first three Craig adventures.
- DN to DAD is one continuity, but with vague connections and a floating timeline
- CR and onward is a new take on continuity, every film connected to each other and the previous films are required viewing for new installments
It appears this is what they've got going now and I approve.

Excepting the Goldfinger reference of the DB5 in Sf....
Oh, don't remind me! Made no sense at all. Could have been nice if the DB5 was the same from CR but modified, and without the ejector seat line.
