Well certainly better than the image of the gunshot in the glass from the teaser poster I thought they'd use.

Yeah. That was best imagery since CR's teaser.

I don't care what image is on the CD cover - I don't sit and stare at it while I'm listening to the contents.

Oh no, I like the teaser image, I'm just glad they didn't use it for this CD cover with the other good artwork they good use.
The teaser imagery would make a good Steelbook case.

I loved Newman´s score for SKYFALL - but it did take some time to grow on me at first. Now I´m listening to it again and again, really appreciating what Newman achieved.
Can´t wait for his SPECTRE!

'Skyfall', 'Jellyfish' and 'The Bloody Shot' are my faves on an already brilliant CD.
Really looking forward to hearing if/how he incorporates more Bond into the music.

I'm hoping he retains the ambiance of Skyfall's score, ala Komodo Dragon and Someone Usually Dies.
I also wonder if he'll move into lounge territory, which we heard in the unused track Old Dog, New Tricks.

I guess we're about to find out how seriously Newman is taking this exercise. Will he go the extra mile like Barry and try new things, or will he pull an Arnold and rehash the same tracks over and over? I'm optimistic - Skyfall was the most textured score in years.

I think his version of the Bond theme will be back, and that's fine with me. But I'm expecting different themes to appear throughout.

Thomas Newman is taking his job very seriously.

I found the Skyfall score a strange beast. As a film soundtrack I think it worked brilliantly, building tension and applying drama in all the right places. But as a stand-alone album I think it's dull and repetitive with no particular stand-out melodies. The action cues are pretty unmemorable, and a track like 'The Moors' could be from literally any action film from the past ten years. I hope Newman finds a happy medium this time around.

Only the instrumental? Good call.

I think the instrumental may be an orchestrated version of the song by Newman.

Oh that's interesting... I wonder if it means they'll only use the instrumental version for the title sequence..*fingers crossed*
I have no doubt that they will use the Sam Smith song for the title sequence. This probably has something to do with the rights to the song. The Adele song was also missing on the Skyfall soundtrack.

Song's already pretty thoroughly orchestrated, no? Or do you mean an alternate version altogether?
Huh. Well, that suggests Newman will weave it throughout the score.
One hopes. It has a definitively Bondian hook and many of its complimentary parts are favorable for a thorough weaving.

Definitely. Best title song related news I've heard.

You know, I hope this little motif makes a comeback. One of my favourite variations of the Bond theme in a good while. 1:00 onwards. Beautiful. It's also used when Bond toasts Severines bodyguards. Love it.

Yes, that one's very cool. It's a bit subdued but it oozes atmosphere and mystery. I'm hoping SPECTRE (the film) lends itself to music that's a little more consistently bombastic and big-band-Bondian, though. At the end of the day, whatever fits the film is best.

I think a full instrumental version could be lovely.
I agree. Skyfall is easily the better song, but I think WOTW could be superior in terms of score integration. I find the melody more distinct, anyway.

Interesting. Last time out the SF soundtrack wasn't released in the UK until after the film's release. Was it something to do with not wanting to reveal the big surprise (M's death) through suggestion from the title tracks - or the music? ( the "Mother" track suggests someone is dying)
In which case - is there anything in this soundtrack which hints at a "big reveal" through the track title or music. Probably not.
