Do people think it's worth heading to the Westminster Bridge/Millbank/Riverside gardens area tonight? I'm tempted. But I also heard they don't let people get anywhere near. Then again if there's helicopters, might be cool. Decisions, decisions...

I'm hoping to head down to the river for a little while later to see if I can see anything going on.

Apparently  (Twitter) Sam Mendes and Christoph Waltz have been see talking on Millbank. Tonight could be an important one. Perhaps our best look yet at Waltz in character.

Game on. Note the motion capture dots on his face.

Finally! And yes...that is very interesting indeed. And also, the attitude. Chin up. Why so serious? ;)

So, CGI facial injuries - and a traditional Bavarian jacket (rather than, let's say, a Nehru jacket...)

Lots to chew over for our first shot of Oberhauser.

Interesting to see Oberhauser getting out of a Rolls-Royce Phantom.

An opulent yet sinister car.

And veteran Bond stuntman Paul Weston is playing the chauffeur.

Great idea, having Weston as chauffeur.  And that car... well, definitely imposing in a clunky, brutal way.

Waltz´s motion capture points / expensive acne...  well, I didn´t see that coming...

I hope there is a good explanation for the transformation of Waltz's face.

I think indeed he is an excellent actor who doesn't need any artificial accessory. Remove those points and you can see he is very terrific !

Great stuff indeed!! I wonder how much more filming in London there will be before production moves to the final shots in Morocco?? I'd imagine it would all be wrapped up by the end of June, no? My, how time has flown since filming commenced on Dec. 8th! :)

All very cool as the production winds down. I suspect that when they finish all the London stuff the next stop will be Morocco and then we'll get the final clapper pic with "That's a wrap!". Maybe a few of the usual pick-up shots here and there at Pinewood, but principle photography will be done. I'm guessing the last week of June. That gives them a comfortable three months or so for post before it's locked.

Works for me and eventually for all of us!

Roll on!

Must admit, I did not see the facial thing coming.  Begs a lot of questions, one's we'll probably not get answered any time soon.  Even makes you wonder if you'll get a clear look-see at the first full-length trailer? Lot of chin scratching between now and then.

Looks like Blofeld/Oberhauser is getting an edgier version of the PleasanceBlofeld face scar.

Looks like Blofeld/Oberhauser is getting an edgier version of the PleasanceBlofeld face scar.

It's also possible that his facial wounds might be "fresh" in the film, and we won't see his more traditional scarred look - possibly achieved with traditional make up - until the next film.

Another good point, also suggesting perhaps that Bond directly or indirectly gives him the wounds.

True. If the scarring occurs in this film, Oberhauser/Blofeld wouldn't have the time to undergo plastic surgery to try and minimise the damage. Perhaps not Two-Face from TDK levels, but this could look quite confronting.

Do we think Waltz will have this all through the film, or do you think it's a present from 007 in one of their confrontations?

I hope it's something he already has, and not the cliché of Bond giving him the wounds (like Batman did to The Joker in the '89 version).

The facial deformity, if that's what it is - a nod to the Pleasance portrayal of Blofeld? Maybe even a "reboot" explanation of how he got it - which those of us here who are trying to fit the Craig era into the overall timeline - I'm not! - will be flummoxed by. (Makes a nonsense of "Allow me to introduce myself" in the film YOLT, if that's the case.)

Another thing just dawned on me yesterday evening - the line from the teaser trailer - "It's been a long time, and finally, here we are". One way of looking at that may be that "Oberhauser" knew Bond years ago and they've finally met up again. Another, though, could be read as a kind of in-joke, because it's true - it's been a long time since Bond encountered Blofeld and "finally, here we are" ;)

Usual caveat of course - assuming Christoph Waltz is playing, er, "you know who"!

I actually would like it to be Bond-inflicted, thus giving Oberhauser even more incentive to hate him.

IMO, it´s not a cliché but a character-defining action that - while not highly original - opens up an intriguing parallel to M´s responsibility for Silva´s deformity.

I also would prefer Bond to be responsible for the scarring in some way. Especially if Bond and Oberhauser are responsible for 'making' or defining each other in a manner speaking.

I am guessing that Blofeld creates Bond, and Bond creates Blofeld.

That's such a Batman '89 vibe. :)

I hope we get a confrontation akin to this between Bond and Oberhauser:
