"Mein Fuhrer! I can walk!"Now all we need is the late, great, Peter Sellers in a wheelchair!
Very fitting, as this set was a Ken Adam creation. Bond connections everywhere!

Could be that this was intended to be the SPECTRE boardroom. Somewhat understandable that they don't want their parliament to be recognized as such.
I have a suggestion what to use instead, but I'm sure they're not going to get it:
This is as close as it gets to SPECTRE: it's the FIFA boardroom.
Looks familiar? Well...
Lol. John Oliver made the same connection on his show LAST WEEK TONIGHT. (7:35 in)

The pic comes from an excellent project by Swiss photographer Luca Zanier, named "Corridors of Power", which contains images of many other locations that could serve as SPECTRE board room.

As far as I know, only exteriors were shot at Blenheim for the SPECTRE meeting? I'm sure the actual SPECTRE meeting would be shot at Pinewood, rather Senedd Chamber.

I think the Senedd was earmarked for something else. Coincidentally I'm going to Cardiff today, but doubt there will be many clues scattered about town.
Yes, Empire described the SPECTRE meeting room set at Pinewood as having been inspired by a real building in Naples.
Apparently it's very impressive with pillars and green marble.
As I understand it, the Senedd was for something quite different.

EON needs to start worrying about creating their own iconography in this new era rather than relying on what has come before. Eventually they'll come to a point where there will be an audience who doesn't remember and/or doesn't care about what Connery and Moore's Bonds were doing back in the 60s and 70s and wont get and/or won't care about those winks to the audience. Then, what iconography are they going to have to fall back on?
I am fine with the way it is poppet.

Interesting from quantumofsolace: http://www.bbc.co.uk...-wales-31861644
Perhaps the lure of Bond isn't enough for everyone. I have a fair idea what they planned to film there, but let's see what, if anything, takes its place.
I'm sure they get denied locations on a regular basis, it's only because Spectre is on everyones radar now that it's been made public, probably.
As for the denied location. It definitely looks like the place for a massive meeting of some sort, but as nice as it is, It doesn't really live up how great the that in Thunderball looked. It seems a bit too low key if thats the case.

Decision to stop James Bond filming at the Senedd sparks social media storm
The decision not to allow filming at the Senedd has been rounded on by politicians and across social media.
In response, First Minister Carwyn Jones retweeted the official Welsh government Twitter statements on the matter which said: "We did not make the decision to refuse James Bond filming in the Senedd chamber. That was @AssemblyWales Commission.
"As a Government we are doing everything we can to attract film makers to Wales."
People have been using hashtags #assemblybond and #seneddbond on Twitter to discuss the issue.
Some have superimposed famous Bond scenes on Welsh backdrops, including Ursula Andress, who starred as a Bond girl in Dr No, emerging from Cardiff Bay instead of a sea paradise.
Welsh Conservatives tweeted:-

John Glen's doves?
Mind you, how does one go about creating a new iconography? Let's consider the dead golden girl in GF. Did the filmmakers say in advance, this will be an iconic moment, or did they just think it would make a snazzy visual? What becomes iconic is left to posterity to decide, c'est pas?I am fine with the way it is poppet.
Wrong gender. Missing comma.
Pray tell sweetheart, where should the comma have gone?
And poppets, I am told, are gender neutral.
The problem with being clever is that people then just look to what you've said; to wit, perhaps you should put inverted commas around 'this will be an iconic moment,' since it was a suggested quote.
And also, your French should be 'n'est ce pas' in this context. 'Is it not?' With C'est pas, you just said, 'It is not.'
Bless.

Uh, I'd imagine they'd do it in much the same way they did back in the older films. Make a great film and let the audience decide what is/isn't iconic. Seems like a pretty sensible way of going about it, no?

Stunt helicopter filming is expected over the River Thames near Westminster on Sunday 17th May and Sunday 14th June.
Only one Twitter account suggesting this so far, but the same user was well-informed about previous discussions of filming around Vauxhall Cross.

Is the stunt helicopter supposed to be the one with a camera? Maybe extra shots of Bond heading down the Thames with Tanner?
I believe it's an action sequence using a helicopter, rather than a camera helicopter for filming.

With bookend helicopter action sequences and a plane in the middle - this Bond is shaping up as an All Time High. Sorry - couldn't resist.

An action sequence in London too? Wow.
Most likely the finale of the film.

I was expecting Morrocco to be the final set piece. Cool.
Morocco will be after Austria - so ending of the second act, beginning of the third.
I'm excited about the finale in London.

Mark Strong has arrived for the EMPIRE awards tonight with a nice bald head.
Totally feeling he is our Blofeld and not being revealed to anyone until on screen. Just go with me.
Posted 29 March 2015 - 04:06 PM
Mark Strong is quite bald Always. Well, if he´s not wearing a wig, that is.
Posted 29 March 2015 - 04:12 PM
Is he? Oh ok then. I always remember he was in Austria location spotting with the crew and DC in that picture (I think that's what they were doing) and always had this daft idea EON would pull an ace out the sleeve with a big unknown reveal as the big bad Blofeld.
Never mind.
