The End Of Time Preview - From Comic Con:
We see the planet Earth from space, with the sun coming out behind it, and Timothy Dalton's voice purrs: "It is said that in the final days of the planet Earth, everyone had bad dreams." And then we see weird laughing faces, followed by David Tennant looking quite perturbed. We see glimpses of Wilf, Donna, Donna's mother, and an African man in a suit, all looking very serious. And there's a scary snake-faced creature. And then there's a figure in a dark hoodie lurking ominously. Dalton narrates: "He returns." We catch a glimpse of Ood Sigma, the Ood who told the Doctor his song was ending. And then the Doctor standing in the background, with the guy in a hoodie in the foreground. And then the hoodie comes off, and it's John Simm with his hair weirdly bleached! His voice comes: "My name is the Master." And then a title comes on the screen: "THE END OF TIME." And the Doctor walks forward with flames in the background, his face looking smoky and serious. And the title says "CHRISTMAS 2009." And the crowd goes wild.

Still holding out that SOMEONE in the panel got video of this and will put it up tonight. Although Digital Spy's coverage said there will be a DW Confidential of the SDCC, so there's that.

What made you come up with this idea, sharpshooter? Do you have an uncle who works at the BBC story department, or something like that? B)

Oh, no. Nothing more than a fanboy passing the time with potential regeneration scenarios. Good idea though, right?

Your theory may not be far off the mark:

The Waters Of Mars New Trailer - Comic Con 2009.

The end gave me chills!

"They said I was gonna die, they said 'he will knock four times and I think I know what that means, and it doesn't mean right here right now, 'CAUSE I DON'T HEAR ANYONE KNOCKING DO YOU!!???"

That it is. It just reminds me once more how brilliant Tennant is in the role, and how much he will be missed.

Also, there's this...

BBC confirms Simm's 'Who' return
Monday, July 27 2009, 08:29 BST
By Mayer Nissim, Entertainment Reporter

The BBC has confirmed that John Simm will reprise his role as the Master in David Tennant's final Doctor Who episodes this Christmas.

Simm had been spotted on the set during the recording of Tennant's finale and his return was announced at yesterday's Comic-Con convention in San Diego before being confirmed by the broadcaster.

The BBC said: "At the close of series three we saw the Master gunned down by his wife and whilst lying in his enemy's arms, he refused to regenerate.

"The world believed he had died and The Doctor accepted he was the last of the Time Lords. But this is Doctor Who and you can't keep a good bad guy down!"

Simm previously appeared as the Master in the Russell T. Davies-penned 'Utopia', 'The Sound Of Drums' and 'The Last Of The Time Lords'.

Tennant's past co-stars Billie Piper, Freema Agyeman and Catherine Tate have all been tipped to return for the actor's final episode, while Alex Kingston will appear during Matt Smith's tenure as the 11th Doctor.

Euros Lynn said he showed the regeneration scene to composer Murray Gold, who bawled like a baby.

I never thought I'd see the day that Dalton was in Doctor Who, aswell. I remember when he was a candidate for the 11th Doctor.

First Doctor: Portrayed by William Hartnell, age 55 when the series began
Third Doctor: Portrayed by Jon Pertwee, age 51 when his tenure began

Hardly too old.

Edit:

Aaaaand upon viewing that trailer I just wish it were Christmas all the more

EDIT:

Neglected to mention. Dr Who marathon on Syfy, if any fellow US fans are interested. Currently Blink.

Even though the return of The Master already known, a friend of mine pointed something out. "He will knock four times". Knock on the desk in front of you four times. If you do it quick, but not too quick, like you really want someone to come out right this instant. The knocking replicates the pattern of the drumbeat from The Sound of Drums/Last of the Time Lords. Neither of us were trying, either. Makes me wonder if that's just a coincidence they noticed or if they'd been planning it, but boy is that clever.

Some news about Matt Smith. Apparently he's going to feature in a film opposite Eva Green.

Might not be the most appropriate place for it but I figured hey, Eleventh Doctor, why not?

EDIT:

Oh I just thought of something!

What if Timothy Dalton is Omega?

Some of that sounds a bit too rumor-y, but all in all interesting nonetheless.

Possible info about the new 'wallpaper' for the series five console room. Have to wait and see how accurate.

Would certainly fit with the retro redo of the Tardis exterior.

Yeah, I'm curious as to just how grandiose the Master's plan is if they were shocked they managed to get away with filming it without any spoilers leaking. Given what he did last time, it's like, where do you go from there?

Shame there aren't any pictures of the new classic-esque TARDIS. Love to see it. Oh well, suppose series 5 isn't all that far away...

Some more word re:Series 5. Open spoiler at your own risk.

Update:
io9 also has some audio of Matt Smith. LQ, sounds like a fan just recorded as best they could from as near as they were allowed. Not bad. Hope it's one of many takes though. They also have a bit more word about what the episode may entail. Sounds amusing to say the least, though it's not looking like it'll be my favorite from this tiny snippet of maybe-info and rough take.

Relax! The furore surrounding that dodgy sound recording on the internet has been absurd. I've heard from a very reliable source (whose opinion I respect) that Matt Smith is absolutely brilliant and has nailed it from Day 1. Though I will, of course, keep an open mind until I see him myself...

More Eleventh Doc soundbites up. They can be heard here if you're terribly interested. Haven't given them a listen yet, but I liked Matt Smith's delivery up until the last word of the last bit of audio, so I'm betting these will be good as well.

Yeah, I was liking it up until that. I think it was just a bad take, or someone said that other things might be intercut over it and it won't sound so bad when finished. I gave a listen to some of the others, and I gotta say, in some of the clips, his voice reminds me a bit of Colin Baker. I severely doubt it's in any indicative of him and his performance, just a little something my ears picked up on.
